    A Proverb from the Levant
Shireen Abu Khader and Natalie Fasheh
    Toronto Children's Chorus & Oakville Children's Choir
Palestinian Jordanian musicians Shireen Abu Khader and Natalie Fasheh have collaborated to bring this humorous proverb from their native Levant region to life, animating the story through song and body percussion. The piece reimagines the sound, significance, and uses of the clay jugs. The Levant is rich in orated heritage. The proverb "Tubb il Jarra" is merely a glimpse into Levantine culture. It celebrates who we are, where we come from and what we carry within us as individuals who aspire to share in order to bring people and cultures closer together.
Flip the clay jug on its mouth,
The daughter will turn out like her mom ('Like mother, like daughter.')
