Manuel Gardner Fernandes is insane. Not only is he the main guitarist, he's also the main vocalist (who does 98% of the vocals on this album, clean and screams) AND i'm pretty sure he was the one that mixed and mastered the album too. The guy can literally do anything. He's fuckin' otherworldly dude
Mhm Manuel is a huge inspiration for me, not so much because of his crazy guitar style, but rather in his live streams when he is chill, he creates a lovely vibe, and the fact he does all the other stuff like vocals and mixing is insane, he really can do it all.
@@JohnFaulkner56 what do you mean by that? Because yes, he’s not objectively the best guitarist in the world but if you mean he’s like mediocre or something, you’re on drugs. I get that the Polyphia style playing isn’t for everyone but what I love about Manuel is that he brings so much crazy musicality into his playing, that’s not just flashy, fast picking stuff but actually really tasteful. His solos are the best example for that. On „Haven“ (great older song, check it out!) his solo is so fucking good, I have to replay it 5 times everytime I hear it. flashy and fast yes, but there’s an underlying thread that tells a story in a way, it’s not just random guitar techniques patched together All that just to say, he isn’t the very best but he’s still really fucking good 😅
@@dennisstreefkerk5784just the fact that by hearing a riff I can instantly know it's made by him is proof he's great, but on top of that he is innovative, which is the hardest thing to achieve
These songs are gonna go so unbelievably hard whenever they get played live. The first like 60-90 seconds of Lore alone is just BEGGING for a wall of death.
This album is really a perfect blend of their previous albums. Gold was very much Polyphia while Artificial Void was like a riffier Tesseract. Both still really good but they did have overall sounds that sounded like their inspirations. This feels 100% unique while still bringing in elements from Gold and Artificial Void.
Manu was definitely listening to the Doom OST for inspiration on a bunch of the riffs for this one. There's just no way he wasn't cause I stg half this album is just chonkier Mick Gordon stuff (and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible too) but still definitely agree that this is a banger mix of everything they've done so far.
I had the EXACT same reaction when I heard that transition from Hell into Lore for the frist time. I was like, "what tuning is this!?". I did not know this low of a sound existed hahaha
I love his tone for the genre they've made. I hear it as the sound of a baseball bat hitting a metal trash can. That's not a criticism by any means. It's such an unmistakable tone that you would notice it anywhere.
Just came across this album a few days ago not being heavy into metal and first thing I was thinking was.. damn this album has character and then my mind proceeded to be blown the rest of the way. I can’t stop listening to it.
Best album of 2023, beautiful arpegios, harmonics, rhythm parts, interludes, killer heavy parts and thumping riffs and that solo from Blackbone is so fucking good. Top tier 😮💨
It's impressive how this album sounds easy listening with tons of intricated technical guitar licks, bass lines and drum patterns. The voice of Manuel has a reminiscent brew of Chester sometimes (love it!). It's amazing how they mixed their aggression from early EPs/LPs with the delicate sound of the previous album "Gold", for me a game changer in the math djent core scene.
@@Misbeliefz They are from germany. Manuel Gardner-Fernandes, David John Levy, Christoph Schultz and Leon Pfeifer are all german. Manuel is half german but grew up in germany and lives there

Yeah, Manuel mixes and masters every single song they've made, and has even helped to mix some of Polyphia's tracks

I cant believe that people aren't mentioning Abysm, it's soooo goooooddd. Every single song is good in this album. Props to Manuel🤘
This album has been on repeat for me since the day it released. One of the best progressive metal albums I've ever heard.
Covenant by them imo is one of the best progressive metacore albums ever written.
I'm with you 💯...this album is on repeat for eternity....

Unprocessed and Polyphia tour together HEAPS and have for years actually, they’re friends and have 2 songs together by Unprocessed now
Was going to say saw these guys last year on polyphia's RTYWD
