  • This episode, we will learn how to read and write Thai vowels.
Please keep the following in mind:
    1. Thai vowel length is important. Otherwise, you can express something quite different.
    2. There are 32 vowels in Thai. Some teachers and texts state that vowels have 21 sounds. That's not wrong.
    3. Tonal inflection in Thai is based on vowels, three consonant groups (Thai Middle Class Consonants, Thai High Class Consonants, and Thai Low Class Consonants), and Live and Dead Syllables, all of these will be covered in future sessions.
    4. In this matter of reading and writing Thai, I will pronounce correctly according to Thai reading and writing standards. To be able to write correctly with Thai reading and writing standards.
Some words are pronounced differently in spoken language; for example, the word จะ /jà/ (will) is appropriately pronounced as low tone, while it is sometimes pronounced as /ja/ - middle tone sound in spoken language.
    5. Vowel placement affects reading and writing Thai language. For example
    พูล /puun/ - พลู /pluu/
    ขวา /kwǎa/ - ขาว /kǎao/
Here's my voice for you to practice your pronunciation.

Well the series on Thai vowels was very good until the last episode where in the last 6 minutes of the episode you go into full thai mode and I could not follow what you are trying to tell us. Clearly we need more instructions from you for us to understand what your trying to teach us.
