Even with its limits, age improves fretted string (and most other musical instruments played by hand) performance. Listen especially to Segovia at ages 16-40 compared to his amazing work in his 80s and 90s; maybe looser, but more musical. The same is true for Horowitz, and Feliciano. Earl (Scruggs) played for 70 years. Played differently, maybe, but better, definitely!
