I was working on a van conversion about 40 years ago lol - got bit by the bug. I know the van types popular today are Promasters, Sprinters, etc - high tops - but at 67 I bought a 2021 Chevy Express 2500 and I'm in the process of converting it and I'm loving every minute of it! Can't wait to get out on the road! I love looking at these and was surprised to see an event such as this that was local.
I Love the vans thank you for posting this. I am over 60 and I still drive a 74 B100 318 factory LS rear-end. Professionally insulated and carpeted the whole ceiling and the walls and floor and doors from the cabin back.I keep it fresh just put a new steering box in it. Anyway I love my old Dodge. The dg in the middle fell off so on the hood it says DO E
NOTE: I KNOW some of the sound tracks aren't so great.. and yup.. I would very much prefer to use 70s music.. BUT if I use any copyrighted music, then the whole video gets flagged.. so its either sucky sound tracks or complete silence.. so I went with the first option. But really.... who cares.. it's the Van's that matter. :)
Jeremy Curlin Glad you liked the video. Thanks for the positive feedback. Feel free to visit my website regarding my 70s van. :) www.puzzele.com/clouddancer/clouddancer.htm
Jeremy Curlin Jeremy, one day you should go to one of our van show's ( one of them that is solely devoted to the old vans of the 70's ) and see first hand how inovative these people were, I lived through those days and omgosh the things that whent on in those vans and all of the "de-flowering" was historic hhh not to mention the drinking and drugs and the music from the day OH my the memories!
Hard to find these monsters on small streets in England, to long and wide for most roads. They are wider than the transit, and sport a big v 8 petrol drinking engine. 😁
It's a shame these went out of style after the eighties. The nice thing about custom vans is that theoretically, you can mod them without running into problems with the law and still have a lot of fun. With Cars, Even one as large as a Ford Crown Victoria or a Buick Regal, the small size really limits what you can do with it creatively and legally.
I really want the bear's den ......that was soooooooo cool ! I wish you had shown a little more of that van and maybe a little less on the For Play. I would have loved to see the back area and bed of the Bear's Den....oh well. Thanks for the video....saw some really cool vans. I miss mine !
You can only tell there was some serious drug usage going on in that era...by a few of these hell wagons in here...some are pretty cool..some are...never mind..
Not always. I'm a VERRRrrrrrrrrrrrrry frugal guy. I'm restoring my 74 van "CLOUD DANCER." With the exception of the mechanical stuff which I suck at, it cost me about $500 to completely redo the entire van (inside and outside). Here is my website to check it out: www.puzzele.com/clouddancer/clouddancer.htm That is one of the great things about VANS... you can REALLY customize with practically no budget whatsoever. :)

Yo Man, it wasn't about the soundtrack. Good Job! No complaints at all. Brought back alot of memories. And justified why I still love vans.👍🏽

Do they still have national car show tours with all the great custom vehicles in convention centers? Or, was that just in the 70's and died out?

why does everyone feel the need to put bad music in the backround? at least play some 70's music then
