Super excellent
Great transcriptions and selection of lesser known recordings and songs. Thanks for posting!
Superb sound quality from 1927! Very good transcriptions.
You are wonderful! Thanks from a quiet guy in Oregon, USA! Mike Horvat
Marvellous, Peter!
I'm so happy to find your channel. Thank you so much for the music and the info to go with it.
What a wonderful video and music! Thank you very much!!
I never fail to be impressed by the dedication and diligence you show in the production of your videos. 1927 was a great year for popular music and it's good to hear one of the big hits. "Side by side" is a standard and it's lovely to hear Jack Payne's interpretation. I've many versions of "My cutey's due at two to two", yet I've never heard a better rendition, with such energy and good solo work. Your copy seems to be in somewhat better condition than mine.
Also thank you for your time in producing another fine video.
+jackpaynefan 1927 was a great year for songs, and all here, apart from the Savoy Orpheans contribution, were big hits of the day. One thing which has always struck me about Jack Payne's Hotel Cecil Orchestra recordings is the all-too-short playing time. "Side By Side" runs for only about 2 minutes 18 seconds.
Thank-you, Peter. This fine selection won you another subscriber.
Thank you!
A superb set. I particularly like the Alfredo, Payne and Star -- and the Hylton is spectacular.
Truly delightful
A lovely set, with a lot of songs that are new to me. I even liked the waltz - have I lost my mind?!
+Jonathan Holmes This is an exceptional waltz, composed by Frank Guarente, and beautifully played. It flows effortlessly.
Delightful
Extremely delightful
Thanks.
“Don’t think there ain’t no Santa Claus, I know darn well there is because, my Cutey’s due at two to two...”...they just don’t write ‘em like they used to...
Great banjo on the Gelder number
