Thanks for these splendid uploads with great photos. I suppose Anne Shelton's register and style might not be so popular as some but to me she had one of the most outstanding voices of the era.

Brilliant to hear Alan Dell again. Fabulous music and the best speaking voice on radio.

Wow! I just saw all the Alan Dell stuff on your channel. What gems, many happy nights listening ahead. Thanks for uploading these I only just got the tail end of Alan Dell’s career but was a regular listener to Malcolm Laycock. How much Radio 2 has changed.

Thanks Panachord. Your posts are always top class. Same Browne on display here was an excellent vocalist. In my view, second only to the incomparable Al Bowlly.

I remember listening to this when it was first broadcast and recording it. I had just sat my O Grades and everybody was talking about a royal wedding that was due to take place the following month.

@Panachord have you ever listened to the earlier 1970s Alan Dell radio programs with extended tributes to bands and their leaders? May have been under the title of ''The golden age of dance bands''. I am not sure who uploaded them, but they included Harry Roy, Lew Stone and Carrol Gibbons, with quite a lot of conversation with past musicians. I just cannot find them now. Thanks Peter
