The ganesha statue is made of bio degradable substances , clay and strays and bamboos. Even Durga , the "8 armed"(it's actually 10) goddess is made of bio degradable substances. The festival is called GANESH CHATURTHI, Chaturthi means 4th day of lunar month.
Guys you should know that although we love the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi there are a lot of environmental issues associated with it as the large statues made of PoP pollute our oceans which results in broken statues on the beach and dead fish for the next few days. It's a nightmare to look at the state of the beaches the next day, you should look it up. Although some people are now moving to eco-friendly options, the change is not fast enough and majority of the statues are still made from harmful substances like PoP and oil based colors.
Are you sure they all are bio degradable? I believe majority are made of plaster of paris still as they are cheaper than clay. qz.com/india/1386793/mumbais-ganesh-chaturthi-eco-friendly-idols-dont-come-cheap/ Its okay to be proud Indian but lets not turn blind eye to everything.

I would have preferred if they took an local reporter that knows the festival and guides the viewer and explain what is the significance and stuff.
I am fan of this festival. We do immerse the statue into the ocean and no, we don't bring it back. The statues, the big ones, are made from Plaster of Paris and painted with oil paint. Because clay statue is heavier and difficult to make and carry and paint doesn't hold on to it. This surely has effect on ocean afterwards I m not denying that. I might get burned by the people reading this comment but I must write what I feel. It pains to see how this started as beautiful tradition to unite people against the British rule but now we have made it something different. But nowadays picture is changing too and so many people have been trying not to harm the environment. Many people keep the same idol for years. Some bring clay idols, or idols made with paper also there are so many other biodegradable options they use. I personally use clay idol of less than 1 feet height in my house and we immerse it inside our house in a barrel or tub and we pour that water to the trees. We have been doing this for last 20 years and it is really helpful. I urge everyone reading this comment to use the favourable option to them which will cause less harm to the environment. It does harm the environment, the surrounding beach area. But it's nothing compared to the pollution made by plastics dumped into the ocean per day. Just in case if you guys are interested to know. These Ganesha idols are made environmental friendly as per laws. This festival is happening for hundreds of years.

React to DEVA SHREE GANESHA song from AGNEEPATH... And this festival is celebrated in other cities too.. He is worshipped everywhere. Even the daily prayers or any celebrations or wedding rituals starts with his " Puja ". He is the son of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. It is said that he was created from clay by Parvati Ji and brought to life. Unaware of this Lord shiva beheaded him. After knowing what he did, he asks to bring anyone who you find first so that he can give him a new head. As an elephant was found first, he was given the head of that elephant and was brought to life again. That's why he has an elephant head. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to everyone.😊
India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend and the great grand mother of tradition -Mark Twain.
What you see in the video is Ganesh Festival. Place shown in the video is Mumbai. Actually it's one of the beautiful and biggest festivals in India. This festival is widely celebrated in Pune & Mumbai as well as everywhere in Maharashtra. This Particular festival is about celebrating the birthday of Lord Shri Ganesh (son of Lord Shiva & Goddess Parvati). Festival Is called "Shri Ganesh Chaturthi" (Chaturthi is the fourth day as per hindu calendar). This festival is also know as "Shri Ganesh Festival". In hindu culture there are 14 forms of Science (14 vidya) & 64 types of art (64 kala). Lord Ganesha is said to be the master of all 14 forms of Science & 64 types of art. It's said that Lord Shri Ganesha is the god of knowledge, wisdom, success & wealth. The festival is celebrated for 10 days. What you see in this video is the last day of the festival. It's believed that Lord Shri Ganesha comes to live with the people for 10 days every year. On the first day the statue of Lord Ganesha brought to everyone's home as well as in the templates. People worship Lord ganesh for 10 days. Many types of poojas, yagnas, yags (types of worshipping) are performed during this festival. Many types of play about history, science, mythology, current issues in the country and on various other topics (which conveys a good message to the society) are performed for 10 days. And on the last day the idol of Lord Ganesha is immersed in water. Immersing the idol is considered to be a symbol of Lord Ganesha going to his house. Usually the idols for this festival are made up of soil but now a days big idols are mostly made up of plaster of paris. *In Pune city, Maharashtra there are two Lord Ganesh idols made from paper pulp are almost 100 years old and one of Lord Ganesh idol is made up of wood.*

My city has made strict license rules this year. Max status are eco friendly and PoP will be banned next year. No sound pollution as well. Hope Govt implements such rules everywhere 🙏🙂

Hi Korbin, Rick, Alexis & Micah. I live in Michigan. We do celebrate Ganesh chaturthi ( festival) here in States. Generally we make the idols from clay and after 1.5 days we immerse the idol of the God in the bucket filled with water and flowers and let it dissolve completely and use the same water and clay for planting new tree😊
In Hinduism... We create our Gods... we surrender our time, energy and emotions to them to enhance our lives... Then we let them go... back in Nature... ( Statues were mostly made of clay... but now plaster of paris is also used which is not good, but efforts are being made to go back to clay)...
I heard a few queries coming from you guys as you were watching the video - so let me answer them. In case you know them already, my apologies. [1] Durga Puja is the festival where Goddess Durga is worshipped in the form where she is depicted with 10 hands (not 8). It is the main socio-religious festival of Bengal. [2] The proper Hindu name of the Ganesh Festival is Ganesh Jayanti. It is the biggest (also socio-religious) festival of Maharashtra, the state whose capital is Mumbai. [3] The Ganesh immersion is done in a lot of places all across Mumbai depending on the distance. Over and above the Arabian Sea, there are ponds and lakes across the city as well as artificial tanks setup by the municipality for the purpose. The idols are made of earth and sometimes with PoP (Plaster of Paris) also. Increasing environmental awareness these days is responsible for PoP getting slowly phased out and Ganesh idols are getting made more with bio-degradable substances. [4] The immersion of Durga Puja in Bengal is done in one of the many rivers that the state has been blessed with. In Calcutta, for instance, the Ganga river (the lifeline of Bengal) is the obvious immersion destination. Cheers.
Ganapati Bappa morya. Not only in mumbai every state will celebrate this festival.not only Ganesha idol is immersed in water.even Durga Devi idol is immersed in water westbangal.

Happy ganesh chaturathi to you guys, god belss yall.
Yes all the idols of every God after the festival celebration are immersed in the sea. This process is called Visharjan.
The Ganesh idols are made of clay hence when immersed in the ocean it dilutes and melts and mixes in the water.
Deva Shree Ganesha song from Agneepath... This is the best time to react .. 😍

This festival is celebrated all over India but it's very famous in Maharashtra
Ganpati Bappa Morya! God bless you guys for lightening up my day :')
For putting it in water is , the gods idol is made of clay and 10 days the country celebrate the festival like anything, everywhere ganesha will be there , at the end they put it in water then clay will dissolve in water , for humans to know that god is our creation , human also when they die they will become soil only
What's better than a breakfast seasoned with an OSR video!🌚♥️
Great lessons from Lord Ganesha!
1. Duty and commitments above all.
2. Nobody is more important than one's parents.
3. Forgiveness is the ultimate virtue.
4. You should finish every task you take up.
5. You should stand up for your self respect.
6. There is more to a being than mere appearnce.
"The Durga Puja" also celebrated as Navratri in Western India is next month...

and half of India is impacted by economic slow down and lossing jobs. I am sure the Lord himself is amused. He must be saying I have given them everything for Thier wellbeing and still they are giving it back to me and the ask for help.

The Ganesha idols are made of clay so that they dissolve into the sea water over the time...
Immersing Gods statues in rivers/sea in Hinduism shows that 'nothing is permanent in this world'... and they are made of biodegradable material otherwise we would have an underwater museum of Lord Ganesha untill now...LOL
Most of them are POP
Today is Shri Ganesha birthday.
Thanks for reaction 👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
World biggest fastival 🙏 Ganesh chaturthi 🙏 🎉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

You know when u r scuba diving.. n then see elephants every where...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oo god, Korbin.. seriously... U r funny...😂😂
Well, actually statues r made of clay so they get dissolved in the sea water..
Just in case if you guys are interested to know. These Ganesha idols are made environmental friendly as per laws. Normally, they are made from clay, wood, hays etc. Most of the time authorities and volunteers clean some remainings on the shore next morning. The name of the festival is called, "Ganesh Chaturthi". This festival is happening for hundreds of years.
U guys r right.....The statues r made of bamboo, straw, mud & water colours which dissolves in water with no side effects to the nature.....
Yes sir it's our Mumbai 😍
Aamchi Mumbai 😀
Watched the intro like 13793398239932 times 😂😂😂 the best
Damn! You're so jobless! 😂😂😂
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi folks!
Ganesha's statue is made up of clay and bio degradable paint, thus yes, it just forms the ocean floor but you can not recognise wether it was ganesha or just some chunk of clay after some weeks.
Btw that festival is called Ganesh chaturthi
Are you in like in La La Land.. POP all those statues in shops are POP all big ones are POP. Only a few percentage of small statue are biodegradable or some use reusable ones. Recognize truth and work to solve the problem than the painting a false truth
@@rahulksmenon I don't know about those big statues but in my town every year only clay statue is used. So i mentioned it
@@Kislay11 just curious which town..Mumbai ka tho poora POP hai.. next day beach will all littered with parts of the idol which corporation need to clean up
@@rahulksmenon Garhwa, a small town in jharkhand. This step of using clay only was initiated 6-7 years ago due to over disposal of Ganesh statue in the only small river that flows from there and was fully accomplished by 2015.

Happy Ganesh Festival To All Of You Guys..... Ganpati Bappa Moraya....🚩🚩🚩♥️♥️♥️♥️
Onam starts in Kerala in a couple of days. It's a remembrance of the generous ruler Mahabali who was sent to hell by one of Vishnu's Avatars for being too powerful. It's a 10 day festival
❤️❤️❤️yr a keralaite😁👍
What nonsense...he was not sent to hell....he offered himself to Vishnu...coz he was a devotee
Abrahimisation is on next level
He wasn't sent to hell!! He offered to do so after realizing who Lord Vishnu was(after his incarnation)
The idols are made of clay. So they breakdown when immersed in water.
It’s emotion for Indians people, only one month is left for Ganesh Chaturthi and the world will be happy and enjoying its brings every single people together Ganpati Bappa Morya ❤️❤️❤️
You should watch documentary about Ganesh Chaturthi on National Geography channel. It's a biggest human gathering.

Ganesh chturthi is also celebrated in USA by Indian community with same enthusiasm you can find American Celebration Videos on RUclips
Sadly wrong video selection for reaction, I wouldn't call this even basic info there are many more in english or covered by foreign documentries.
You know for 90's song, you can make Alexis say "Its so cheesy.".. 😅
It happens in lot of cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad,Pune, etc
Please react to Durga Puja festival which happens in Kolkata. It’s huge in Kolkata just like Ganesh festival is in Mumbai.

NAMASTE TO YR TEAM. GOOD JOB. MR. RICK SEAGELL IS A SENIOR (HONEST) PERSON AND MY BEST WISHES TO EVERY ONE. PLS CELEBRATE DIWALI. WL BRING PROSPERITY AND HAPPINESS
Guys you should know that although we love the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi there are a lot of environmental issues associated with it as the large POP statues pollute our oceans which results in broken statues on the beach and dead fish for the next few days. Although some people are now moving to eco-friendly options, the change is not fast enough and majority of the statues are still made from harmful substances.
My city has made strict license rules this year. Max status are eco friendly and PoP will be banned next year. No sound pollution as well. Hope Govt implements such rules everywhere 🙏🙂

Every year for lord Ganesh birthday Hyderabad make largest Ganesh statue. This year they made 61feet Ganesh statue which has 24 heads and 24 hands and it is the largest statue in India.
[1]
Durga Puja is the festival where Goddess Durga is worshipped in the form where she is depicted with 10 hands (not 8). It is the main socio-religious festival of Bengal.
[2]
The proper Hindu name of the Ganesh Festival is Ganesh Jayanti. It is the biggest (also socio-religious) festival of Maharashtra, the state whose capital is Mumbai.
[3]
The Ganesh immersion is done in a lot of places all across Mumbai depending on the distance.
[4]
The immersion of Durga Puja in Bengal is done in one of the many rivers that the state has been blessed with.
All the idols are made of soil so while they are immersed in the water all of the soil float in the sea by the time
