    Thanks for sharing. I have 3 sets of Grill Grates for my grills and we love how well they work with our steaks, burgers, and fish. I've been using a high velocity spray hose that works fairly well but I think the cleaner will help even more. Love the products!

    I made the mistake of putting them on a brand new grill I thought was a good grill. Haha okay so 3 yrs later grill is toast grates are solid as a rock. Just got me a Weber really nice grill grates fit perfectly from front to back so will be able to re use. Been going threw this process deep cleaning them in my kitchen sink. Any ideas how to dry them? I don't wanna put them in a new grill till they are clean and dry. Wondering if gas range oven just heat them to about 400° for 10 min? Hope this works. Metal bristles are potentially VERY dangerous, especially when tiny wires invisible to the eye become stuck to your meat.
    You or a guest can eat a small wire piece without knowing it, and next step is a hospital visit.
    I’m happy with our Grill Grates, but I recommend bristle-free coiled metal brushes or the "valley brush" designed for the grille grates to get in those mid areas.

    I fired up my grill to bbq. the grates had shit on it from the last bbq. I went into the kitchen to bring everything I needed to bbq.when I got to the bbq pit. it was over 500 degrees. I panicked and grabbed my water bottle and sprayed like crazy to cool the grates hoping they won't warp. they didn't.but the crud that was on the grates was not there.it was all pushed to the back of the grate

      Be careful Robert! We don't suggest spraying water on hot grates- that steam will scald you! You can spritz the GG when they are cool and warm up or just as they are warming up. Glad it all worked out! #GrillOn

      It's an old chef's trick. It lays down a sulfide layer that is rock hard to 1000F. Do it with new GrillGrates and occasionally with well cleaned or dried out GrillGrates after a high heat possibly causes dry Grates. Really works! blog.grillgrate.com/2019/05/06/an-onion-is-the-best-way-to-season-grillgrates/

    I love my Weber Grill, but honestly, I bought my inlaws a cheap $200 grill 5 years ago, and I just replaced the flavorizer bars last year, and this Christmas I'll probably just buy them another cheap, but good, grill for another 5 years. I just spent 2 days cleaning my 6 year old Weber, and the factory sent me new burners--which took me hours to change for the rusted screws etc...and honestly, that grill will never really clean no matter what I use. I've soaked the grates in ammonia for 3 days, and still look cruddy. I don't think I'm buying another $700 grill, and going through this again...just buy a cheap one every 5 IMO is better.

    • @factionfx
      @factionfx 2 года назад +1

      You are crazy. The weber works way better (heats evenly, retains heat when you open it, etc). Grill doesn't have to be sparkling clean when you clean it. They must not use the grill much if it took 5 years to wear out flavorizer bars on a cheap grill. The big value in these webers is finding them in good used condition for $200 on marketplace.

    • @wreckim
      @wreckim 2 года назад

      @@factionfx Well, you may have a point on the 'evenly' heating etc....but I stand by most of what I wrote. And, I may be crazy, I write on these youtube boards for fun I guess.

    Why would you put the cleaner on while the grates are on the grill? You're getting chemicals down into the grill which will burn up into your food when you cook next time.

      Brad here: Over the years my cleaning has evolved from benign neglect (and very dirty GG) to today I am close to OCD. I use our scraper tool and go after all the build up in the valleys and joints- just to loosen. Then the commercial grade brush acts like a broom to brush the debris to the back. Like a short order cook prepping the grill. The scraper tool also does a nice job on cooking rails as well as the flat backside- perfectly clean every time. I still send the debris over the deck to the flower bed every once in a while. :-)
