Kevin, we work with a lot of students studying for the MCAT and we always encourage them to use flashcards. Often times, when they are interested in using Anki, we refer them to your video tutorials about them. Your videos have helped them learn the ins and outs of Anki and how to benefit from them. Thanks for providing such great advice!
I just want to say thank you! Last year I started to prepare for the admission test for studying medicine in Austria. Thanks to your videos I learned about Anki and how to use it properly. With using this tool, I ended up being in the 98% percentile. I never would have thought, that this would be possible. So again: Thank you so much! You are a big part of making my dream to be a doctor come true!
I am from India and as I am in ICSE Board I have board exams this year in ninth grade...I installed Anki day before yesterday and I cannot explain how much it helped me for my physics board examination. I am having Chemistry exam on Monday and I am using Anki to learn...Thank you. I got introduced to Anki after watching med school insiders
I've watched waaay to many Anki videos. This one really cut to the chase in a short time-frame and enabled me to get started. Many thanks for a supremely helpful video!
I am an IT professional, revising all my basics from the day I passed out till now. Thank you for this wonderful video! ----------------------------- Damn it! I spent more than 8 hours a day for the last 14 or more days transferring notes from my temporary notepad to Anki Notes' Basic Card. I have cleared all the backlog but now I about 855 cards in Basic type. No worries future cards will be Cloze.
There might be a better way, but I used windows snipping tool. Check youtube for videos on that. Should come with your computer so no need to install anything I think.
This is amazing. I just downloaded Anki and was a little overwhelmed with the less-intuitive interface. I love how you explained the various functions and features of Anki! Will definitely be using in the future :)
No knowledge is greater than great knowledge shared. Thank you for such helpful videos. I have literally been told that our cancelled OSPE exam is now being replaced with a brand new, out of the blue anatomy exam (been told just over a month before the exam, typical of my uni) So I've got a slim chance with this amazing Anki tutorial to not faff around and try my best to cram in as much anatomy during COVID! Thank you, SO much!
"Cloze" cards are no longer showing the "extra" or display images when added. In order to solve this please follow these steps: in an empty cloze card, add a new field and name it "extra" close the card and go to the main anki window and go to "tools" select "manage note types " select "cloze " select "choose cards " at the bottom center choose "add field" change field from "text to extra" change "add to": from "front to back" Press ok and try and see if works
Also the art of using tags helps tremendously. You can live off it with just a single deck. Ex: genpath_Bloodvessels Clinpath_transfusionmedicin Just copy and paste it from the deck description that you have made and into custom study session if you want to study a specific topic. I'm telling you, anki is boss.
I followed your tutorial and made my 10 questions template. I don't know how effective it is but I have a good feeling about it. Thank you very much for sharing these tips with us!
Just wanted to say thank you! I perfected my Marine Science exam due to your channel and Anki. I probably would've passed even without your influence but you taught me a greater lesson. The mere fact that I could strive for more and subsequently achieve more is a lesson I'll carry with me through my life :)
@@Notthetylor It works for me. I need to memorize a ton of information and so Anki is a nice way to make flashcards that are easily edited and easily used.

This is amazing! I'm studying for optometry school boards and I recently stumbled on Anki and I love that you're showing the ropes for such a useful program. Thank you for your hard work.
The way I'm using Anki..... 1. Screenshot: Win+Shift+S: 2. Switch to Anki: Alt+Tab (If same desktop) Win+Ctrl+Left or Right Arrow (If different virtual desktop) 3. Adding additional info (IF ANY): Alt + F 7a. Hide All Reveal One: Ctrl+Return 7b. Hide One Reveal All: Ctrl+Shift+Return 8. Switch to Source: Alt+Tab (If same desktop) Win+Ctrl+Left or Right Arrow (If different virtual desktop) REPEAT - REPEAT - REPEAT I added all of the steps in macro keys 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 So its easy and within seconds flash card created.
Yay!! Another new video and perfect timing as well. I'm currently studying for my finals and I was quite confuse as to how to use this program. Thank you and Have a great day! Keep up the great work!! :D
Hi! I am currently in 3rd year and just discovered anki! How were your initial days of starting with Anki. I'm getting pretty confused rn even after watching tutorials. Its like I can't decide among the so many options. Does it look familiar or would you advise something?
THANKS! AWESOME , STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. Can you do a tutorial for the 10 question feature and for image occlusion? I use image occlusion but I don't know how to modify a card once I've created the deck. I have to delete the whole deck and make a new one.
Great video, thank you for sharing. Please consider using the Image Occlusion Enhanced V1.0 that was just issued November 2016.The Enhanced version is much better than the original version and the new programmer has made some very good tutorial videos.
Hey Medschool Insiders - been loving your videos. I have a tendency to make too many flash cards, or more specifically I spend a lot of time making them and rarely ever get through all of them. Would you have any advice on that?
I tried using Anki in first sem but I struggled with my time management. Did you make these flash cards as you went along through each week for that particular week's worth of content, while also making notes from the lectures you had in the week or did you only do Anki flashcards and not make notes? And did you make flashcards for all your subjects, like Anatomy, Physiology etc? And how long did you spend making the flashcards for a particular week?
Interesting! I use Anki to practice Russian and French language. I never knew of it's application in the area of science. It's a fantastic program despite taking some time to figure out how to use. The Android app is really fantastic for practicing on the go. Unfortunately iPhone users have to pay for the app.

Is Anki useful tool for electrical engineering? Or is it only useful for medical school?

For those wondering about 3.18 in Mac, the way to do it is to press (control, command,shift,4 ) in sequence or simultaneously. Wonderful video mate!
After doing the screen shot, how does he quickly put into Anki? I'm currently needing to drag and drop into the extra bar
Me too, he didn't explain that part
Let me know if you figure it out!
Shift + Control +Command 4 will give Copy in the clip board. and then you paste with Command+V
