i hope you plan on keeping this one, its definitely one of the best ones ever made, I have the MTH AB set in Santa Fe, i chose it over this because it has a nice glossy finish on the red, and a perfect mirror finish on the sidings, as well as a really cool functional station system that stops and starts the locomotive automatically and plays passenger announcements and sounds of people getting on and off the train before it takes off again. But really, for the price, walthers nailed this one, A+ from them, I almost bought this set at my LHS, but when I saw an MTH come up on ebay for sale, I had to nab it, if it wasnt for that, I would have this on my layout. Great video! I always wanted to see how those locomotives ran out of the box and I must say they are impressive. Now if only Walthers packed them with loksound so we wouldn't have B units with horns.
I want to agree with the fella just before me. These walthers e and f units with the lighting and sound and super slow and quiet motors have quickly gone to the top of my favorite locomotives list. The whole proto loco series is just fantastic. Nice review. I like the new intro.
It looks like from your quick run by that when the A and B unit are connected, there is still a small gap between the diaphragms of these two. Despite being sprung, it seems this continues to be an issue with these and the passenger cars. May be nit picking but having a visible gap between is a bit irritating, particularly when they do everything else so good. It also looks like the fuel level gauges aren't painted. Wonder why that detail was missed. Thanks for the review.

Haha awesome trains man! You a conductor or engineer? I love trains so much! Do you prefer ho scale over o scale? As in if you were collecting a lot of trains and want a scenic railroad i would say ho is the best because it doesnt take much room up an its cheaper! Whats you theory on that haha?
