u Absolutely right Queen! Something is very wrong. Especially when it comes to academics. We rank dead last when it comes t o positive statistics but rank first in all impediments that stunt our collective growth. I been thru many levels of this system. locked up at 17 then released at 26 while my 5 sisters were being taught self independence by my moms, i was being pacified to never cut the umbilical chord. Iwent to prison as a boy and came home as a Bold intelligent truth speaking Man. Peace!

We can change it, its all up to us. We are stronger than we know. How can any of us blame ourself's for the teachings we posses, or the ones that we've given to our children? How? How can we blame ourself's when were all blind? To change this though we just have to TRY and open our eye's, come together, lerk knowledge and make a change. I know that we'd be unstopable at anthing we'd indulge in. We just have to believe it.

One thing I can say is that I am a sista who is educated, and I have been though some of the things the minister has described. I have to agree that my expectations were high now I see why they were unable to fulfill. Its unbelievable but it seemed like every brother that I met had been locked up.The jail system also contributes to the black man not suceeding in this world.Our black men are the minority but they make up the majority in jails.SOMETHING JUST ISN'T RIGHT. I' haven't given up.

I have covered THE Nation of Islam's Saviours Day twice. I don't agree with everything he says but everything he says here is right on. I remember getting back to the station and they already had an angle to slam Farrakhan. But I interviewed whites that attended. This was when he was on the cover of TIME. The caption read..Minister of Hate. So I aired his side of the story. No other Chicago reporter aired it. I did'nt make friends in the Newsroom that day. Fair reporting is missed these days

Sad and insane.I'm from Baltimore and its bad.You get caught with a gun you get 5 yrs straight up.I don't know about 1st time offenders.The drop out rate in MD is HIGH for black men and the incarceration.Its like once your in the system its so hard for them to break out of the cycle.The goverment doesn't make it any easy.I have a son and its been like hell keeping him in school.He just finished summer school.If it wasn't for me my son would be lost.They encourage them to drop out.

Let them believe this is the only way of life for them. Let THE MAN believe his jay's, his rims and feens are more inportant than his family. After he is inprisoned, let his baby mama's get on welfare so that they never see the need to prosper. Let that be the only teaching she posses to pass on to her seeds. After that let the cycle repeat.

This rite here, is the life in the hood. I know first hand. Now this is how the big picture plays out lil man ends up wit 4 kids. He became a fellon at the age of 15 so financial aid and work are slim to none(I guess it aint easy livin up to jeezy's or waynes standerds). He's now doin life wit no parroll. As for lil mamma she got 3 kids. kept her hair and nails done. She also died of AIDS at the age of 30. As for their mom she kept her kids,

we can see that those who dispute its authenticity are also those who have had the philosophy used against them with great success. I always tell people that if you PRETENDED that it didnt exist..it wouldnt matter b/c again..the philosophy works so well on us it just makes us look more idiotic to deny something that has worked on us..or shall we say THEM..LOL
