It is supposed to be a transcript of a speech given by a man named William Lynch on the James River in 1712.

I’m having the same argument with myself. I cry for my people, because of the way they are being pulled in all different directions. I have these conversations with my children and even my Creator because I kind of placed myself like on the outside looking in searching and asking why is this happening and when does it end and I’m reminded that the Creator is in this and unless we return to our temple (ourselves), to our Creator, that fog, that maze we’re traveling through will not be lifted. If it sounds like a description of modern day conditions of the black family that is because the person who wrote it is trying to describe current conditions. But his intent is not to show how welfare and child support contribute to the destruction of the black family. If one is to believe the message of the “letter” then slavery caused the destruction rather than the institutional structures of our time. That’s what makes this “letter” a poor tool for illustrating the causes of the ills in our communities.

I would say obedient slaves were rarely lynched...Those who fought for our freedom (rebels) were the ones being lynched....Even if the documents are a fake...you can bet yiur life that the methods are real...Willie Lynch wouldnt have to be a God like person to have taught these methods either...All he had to be was a kidnapper with a plan to build an economy on the backs and graves of indigenous people and the kidnapped slaves who today are for the most part suffering from stockholm syndrome if im not mistaken.......

@@reeferrotrandy458 I am over half a century old. I’ve been studying the African American experience for nearly the entirety of my life. There is nothing in this “letter” that I do not understand. If it sounds like a description of modern day conditions of the black family that is because the person who wrote it is trying to describe current conditions. But his intent is not to show how welfare and child support contribute to the destruction of the black family. If one is to believe the message of the “letter” then slavery caused the destruction rather than the institutional structures of our time. That’s what makes this “letter” a poor tool for illustrating the causes of the ills in our communities.
