Explains pretty much everything you need to know about mining diamonds. After seeing this and trying it out, diamonds are not gonna be a big deal for you anymore...
This was the tutorial that helped me find my first diamonds. The game has changed in so many ways, but I still remember the principles taught in this video. "The world is infinite, your time is not" So true! I will admit, I'm a little nostalgic for those ancient days when a handful of diamonds felt like a king's fortune. Nowadays with enchanted tools and beacons, not to mention buried treasure and mineshaft chests, diamonds are super easy and quick to find.
This seems like a totally new game now, since the 1.8 patch with new lighting and food bar and all I wasn't so happy. But right until they changed all the sounds is when I felt really disconnected from the game. And now, they seem totally different, this and the current game.
Kiershar, Slyfox, Wtfminecraft, griefing teams, and some underrated youtubers from years ago like brenny beast or luke whatever his name was, and pielops. mo creatures, that weirdo mod and piston mod and that castle rpg mod thing, old sounds, lighting, and even when skyblocks was just a single player map. really, the game now is great, even though i haven't played it in a year or two actively, but i still get on every once and a while and watch videos sometimes, but alpha and late beta were in my opinion, the golden ages of minecraft. i dreaded the adventure updated, and now all that's left in the community are 6 year olds. mm oh well, minecraft was a damn good phase of mine, nostalgia feels so good but it's annoying at the same time..
Actually, using stone tools is great because when you mine you have lots of stone.use your iron on a iron pick and only keep 1 iron pick. Use it only when found diamonds, redstone and anything else that needs it.you will use your iron fast by doing it all with iron picks. I would rather save up for iron armor and weapons.
"Save up iron for armour and weapons" The thing is... if you use iron tools, you actually get iron faster than if you use stone tools, because you are digging faster. But it also means you find diamonds quicker, because you are digging faster. And it's not uncommon to have over a stack of iron blocks, so there is not much need to save it, other than to build out of...
Tommy59375 Yeah... Iron is one of those things that seems like a precious resource in the first few hours logged, but I'd have to agree that by the time you've established a decent homestead and mine network, iron is more or less about as precious as coal. I'm sitting on about 10 stacks of iron ore on my current map... I don't even bother smelting it any more.
If ur playing on a server, better use an x-ray hack. I'm not saying i'm using one, but sometimes a lot of people use them to find diamonds, and when u are searching, u might not have luck, because the ores may be gone thanks to x-rayers...
This is the absolute first diamond mining vid i've ever watched. I still use most of the techniques to this day, the only thing i've changed is that i start at layer 12(most diamonds), and work my way both up and down, because sometimes there's diamond hidden under the lava/magma.
This is the OG diamond technique. I've been using this technique since I originally watched it back when alpha was out. I forgot the technique tho and had to watch again :P Keep up the good work!
I play currently on xbox one. and i find a shit load of diamonds. my method: Dig until your are level 11 from bedrock(you can see it on your map, i thinks its the y cordinants), then you dig a 2x1 tunnel and every third set dig on either side(your eye level) till you can reach and continue that until you find diamonds. its very fast and you have a great chance of finding diamonds. Also if you have a pick emchanted with "fortune" you will get alot more diamonds. good luck.
+Trevor Decker Thanks! I never thought to make a 1x1 tunnel to the sides. That would be very efficient, as each broken block reveals one more than a broken block from a 2x1 tunnel does. Also, less distance from original location.
There is simpler version of this method: dig straight forward standing on level 6 with brightness maxed. No torches needed and very hard for zombies to appear cos of the limited amount of open space. But of course it takes you to next level of boredom compared to this video.
well.... i do have more luck than you cause i found an abandoned mine so that helped me find diamonds and i found 37 in just 2 veins of diamonds... and i also found emeralds
it took me several weeks of real time before i found diamonds in minecraft, you just have to keep looking..but when you finally find diamonds you're really happy..i yelled my head off :)
me with my friend one day found 30 diamonds! in 1 hour time :D we didn;t do anything that you said we found mineshaft and digged around it and we found alot. i digged lava came out i runed i turned again wait behind lava was diamonds! i actually dead in lava but good i came out of lava but i burned to death good myfriend taked the diamonds and gived back my stuff he taked. that was worst moment eva :D
I disagree in technique. I take myself down to depth 12 (16 has most potency, but 12 has more caves due to lava lakes) with only 1 iron pick, 2 iron shovels, 2 stone picks, some food, and a crapton of torches. Similar to you I dig in a straight line, but I'll dig a couple hundred units forward, clearing all dirt pockets, then go back the start and do the same thing towards the left and right, shove forward 5-10 units, repeat. This earned me 119 diamonds in less than a week of infrequent mining.
Okay, but then why in the hell would you post that comment if you already knew that you would use an iron pickaxe. So many people gave that comment a negative vote, that it was blocked out. Make sure you know what in the hell you typed and how stupid the thing that you type was before you try to defend yourself.
Oh my god... this guy is smart! I don't understand why many people can't understand this. It's as if they're like 20 year old guys with the smarts of a six year old kid. I don't get why people aren't able to make comments that have at least decent grammar... though this video was made in the alpha period, this diamond finding method is great!
Very good english! So the only thing you have to do is count how many times you dig into the dirt, make a room in the 16th layer, make shafts into different directions,if you found a cave or if you think its long enough, dig aroooouuuuund C: simple
The minecraft world keeps going on and on... to reach the end of the world or farlands, it takes a few days of continous walking... Try digging all of that out even in creative with TNT. I will give you a medal and 1 thousand dollars if you do.
you need iron to mine the diamond..you cant use cobblestone.Diamond pickaxes is another alternative if you want more diamond. Also, torches are very easy to make, even if you can't mine any you can use wood to make charcoal.
thanks, i was playing minecraft while watching trying to find diamonds because i dont even how de blocks look like! but i think i am very stupid in the game to fing some..... stone pickaxe
The only thing I understand: BLa bla bla...dig...bla bla bla...bedrock...bla bla bla...diamonds...bla bla bla...dig more....bla bla bla...stones....bla bla bla....find diamonds. am I right?
One thing I don't see how you find this helpful every diamond I've could was closer to bedrock or the lava level! This is definitely no help what so ever!
I have no need for such mods because unlike you I actually play the game for fun rather than playing to find diamonds. I used to think that the whole point of the game was to find diamonds, but after extensive late night builds I find it's more about the journey than anything. What you are suggesting would be like ruining an ending for a long anticipated movie by giving someone the script.
i dig staight down on spawn to lvl 12 use latters to get to surface and start mining a 2 block high tunnel i feel the staircase just takes too much time to asscend plus a straight down shaft can put you right under your home/base and its so much faster than stairs u mine three blocks i mine 1 plus all the ground your stairs pass. keeping latters stacked is a must for me while cave mining
I found 11 diamonds in less than 30 minutes. The way I do it (which is ez) is to dig until I reach the first level bedrock (non breakable dark grey blocks). Then, Above that by 2 levels, I start digging a through tunnel that is 3x3 in size. Keep digging forward and if u reach dirt, change direction. The reason 3x3 is good is that it uncovers 5 layers around the tunnel increasing the chance of finding diamond. Once u found some, make a diamond pick and continue. IT WILL pay for itself.
I have a more efficient method : i dig a main horizontal 1x2 tunnel.. then go at the start and I face one side and just dig a hole 1x1 in front of me as long as the pickaxe reach (i think 5 deep) : each bloc digged give me a view of 4 blocks.. so i see 4x5 = 20 block next to the 1x1 hole.. if their is nothing, i go further in my main tunnel.. I leave 2 bloc intact one the same wall.. and I do an other 1x1 hole, etc.. I do the same on the opposit wall.. I can do the same on the roof
Your mistake Redstone-Hot chillie mama 4 dimonds dig the whole area + ur methods Coal-the undertaker its allmost the same but thes a minimum of 16 of the stuff and ass u say world endlees time is ticking And Iron there is relly rare dimond behind it dont even bother + all ur methods and try this method too bedrock layer 5 dig up to level 16 -8 below u have too make like 5 wide blocks hope this helped this comment is all linked to this video :)

“The world is infinite, your time is not” is one of those iconic Minecraft truisms to me, right alongside “don’t dig straight down”

You should smelt it, the iron blocks (9 ingots) actually make a really nice highlight building material.

its not to lava level. and u make a big mineshaft 3 by 3 then make lil branches 2 by 1

doesnt matter anymore since my world keeps freezing I quited I refuse to start anew and since I had a blue screen it just doesnt work right anymore
f3 only gives a lot of difficult but useless info since it keeps bouncing around and the info is so vague that you cant find out what it means
it doesnt work first of all you cant go trough bedrock so that layer 5 is inaccesible second of all there is no wya to know on what layer you are.

Why is it in my recommendations so long after? 🤣 I just scrolled through few Minecraft videos recently. I stopped watching regularly for few years.
How to REALLY find diamonds without anything complicated:
1. Go down to Diamond level
2. Start mining a massive tunnel straight
3. Never stop mining
One thing I don't see how you find this helpful every diamond I've could was closer to bedrock or the lava level! This is definitely no help what so ever!
Thanks to you i found 46 redstones and near it i found 6 diamonds! Thank you...now the only mineral i dont have is lapiz lazuli and gold
I dig so much and no diamond lmao
there are mining strategies that help you find them faster though. diamonds ocur more than u think
How can you just say what layer you are on the world in Minecraft is different
This video is about diamond.. Not iron, gold or redstone.. and learn how to spell correctly.
And he do not miss any Diamonds.
They didn't change this for 9 years a? :o
so weird to think this video was absolutely revolutionary back in the day
There's no tutorial on finding diamonds. They are randomly generated and cannot not be anticipated from anywhere.
