They don't think Matt is a bad vocalist, he just tries to mimic Adam down to the t. Just listen to My Darkest Days (his old band) and you will see a huge difference in the vocals. Also, his hand motions and the way he pronounces everything tries to catch the magic Adam's vocals did, but instead of filling in the shoes, but trying to differentiate from Adam, he tried to wear the exact same shoes.

People loved Adam and his looks and talent is what helped them win a grammy and become popular in the first place so despite Matts abilities some will never accept him that's their own loss I think because the bands overall genre and style is the same and Adam was miserable and wanted to leave so people claiming to care for him should just wish him well imo.
