WKRP in Cincinnati and The Andy Griffith show should have been on this list, but the biggest oversight was not having the Dick Van Dyke show in the top 10! I’d also argue that Park and Recreation should have at least have been an honorable mention. Another oversight of a really funny show that should have been mentioned, Good Times!
A crime that Dick Van Dyke was left off -- one of the first to really focus on the two worlds of a character with Rob's home and work life. Andy Griffith did it as well, but that was more blurred lines.
Good times was kind of mentioned, though only if you're accepting technicalities. Listen at 1:45. "The Jeffersons brought in a decade of good times." Completely not what you were talking about, but I'm a smartass so I felt obligated to point it out.

@@Cotelw8345 I respectfully disagree. The office was a unique form of experimental comedy that pushed the boundaries and redefined network comedy. Did it have its downs in the final seasons sure but the highs were exceptional. Stress relief part one is one of the greatest tv episodes of all times. Deserved that Emmy win for best direction. And unlike a lot of tv shows you actually grew with the grafters cause they actually had character developments
The fact that Always Sunny doesn't even get an honorable mention even though it's the longest running sitcom is depressing. Can someone give me an egg for this trying time?
IASIP as the longest running sitcom of all time is a very big half truth. Yes the length of time its actively existed is there, but in terms of number of episodes they are still way behind several other long running network shows
@@williamgiesen4910 That doesn't make it a half truth, no series runs the same amount of shows, airs it's seasons in the traditional way past its time network format any longer, stations have creative control and independence which is one of the main reasons Sunny destroys any network sitcom that has ever existed, accept for maybe Married With Children, even that was a black sheep.
I totally agreed with Seinfeld at number 1. I liked Seinfeld a whole lot more than I liked Friends. I couldn't get into Friends at all. Seinfeld had the hilarious factor sure but look at the concepts it brought to light. Double Dipping, the whole candy machine issue with the Twix, shrinkage, and multiple other topics they had. Even the characters made the show great with the episodes. It brought out the best in John O'Hurley in my opinion
No list about best sitcoms can be taken seriously without the Cosby Show, I know the reason it's not on but the fact is the show was hugely popular and should be here in spite of Cosby's crimes.
As a kid growing up in the 90's I loved friends, but now I don't find it nearly as funny and it hasn't aged well.... Frasier kills me every single rewatch.

Agreed Seinfeld at #1 but Malcom in the middle, Home Improvement, Everybody loves Raymond, Married with children and Different Strokes are def top 20 IMO
My favorites are It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, and The Office. I would've put The Office higher but for a good portion of the show it seems to be Michael being cringey and that's it. Now the other 2 have some of the best forms of modern humor. They always seem to push boundaries with their topics but the best part is the character development. Watching Barnie change from a womanizer into a huge romantic is always one of the best changes in the show. Each character in IASIP showing off their psychological issues like Dennis slowly shifting towards a psychopath or Charlie showing signs of brain damage as the seasons continue. I will still say that Charlie and the waitress spending the night on the beach together was one of my favorite episodes even if it was all b.s. That and the message in the episode when their phones update so they dive into all of their own realities only to realize that you create your own truths even if they end up actually being a lie. That one blew my mind away with how interesting it played out. Reminds me of a Futurama or Rick and Morty episode that gets you thinking. Oh and How I Met Your Mother has some of the best writing. They can talk about something random that shouldn't matter in an earlier season but because of the writing that detail comes up again 6 seasons later as if they live real lives. It's tough to find a plot loophole in that show.
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 I said it has some of the best writing and explained how the show backtracks to tie up loopholes in its plotline. I don't understand why you questioned me and then proceeded to say it was good writing.

Damn where is always sunny? Literally the longest running live action sitcom of all time
WKRP in Cincinnati and The Andy Griffith show should have been on this list, but the biggest oversight was not having the Dick Van Dyke show in the top 10!
My list (not in order):
Family Matters
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
That 70s Show
Full House
Workaholics (if it counts)
The Office
Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Not the only sitcoms I like but they're by far the ones I watch the most
That 70's Show should have been higher
I think what holds it back is its final season when Eric goes to Africa & we get… Randy.
@@Phanthief95 it started strong and went down hill at the end that’s why..
@@Phanthief95 doesn’t matter. It’s first four seasons are excellent, and they put The Big Bang Theory above it. It’s a crime.
Whoever says Big Bang Theory is better than It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia doesn’t deserve to make a greatest sitcoms list.
As a 30 year old, It's Always Sunny is legendary however, if you're talking ALL time, I see why it was left off. It's a niche type of humor. The shows listed were watched around the world and of a higher quality with story telling.
They’re not wrong
@@MCFC248 Yes. But Big Bang Theory is barely humor.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is pretty niche.
@@MCFC248 True. But it's still a heck of a lot better than that unfunny sitcom about science.
My favorite sitcom will always be Night Court. I love the way funny way they worked and laughed together.
Not even an honorable mention for "Always Sunny", "Community" or Arrested Development?
Brilliant series, Arrested is my favourite 👍🏻
OMG I forgot about Arrested Devlopment! yes 100% should be on here
Never heard of Them
Curb your enthusiasm has got to be the most underrated sitcom of all time.
The best one as well
Why has it never had good viewing figures?
@@davidz2562 I think because it's super dry humor
@@davidz2562 I think it's because not everybody has HBO.
I found tbbt, boring, thoughtless, & against everything I believe. Hubby liked it, so I got to see it anyway. Roseanne! I was her! I knew she would be famous from the 1st time i saw her. Yes, I agree with Happy Days, & Mork & Mindy, I think Soap, & Benson should have been in the list, too!
I mean the second I saw the video recommendation, I knew what no. 1 was going to be. I just wanted to see what sitcoms were 2 to 5. Amiright people?
Not even an honorable mention for Community? This list is NOT streets ahead.
It's a cult sitcom that's never had mainstream popularity.
Pop Pop!!!

Everyone Loves Raymond should've been on this list. One of the most underrated sitcoms ever.
Robert is HILARIOUS in Everybody Loved Raymond. I love when he is trying to get the antacid out of the bottle when Debra and Marie are fighting.
King of Queens should’ve been on here too! They’re both great shows
This is the comment I was looking for
Everybody Loves Raymond and Married with Children would have to be in my top twenty!
And Scrubs.
And King of Queens
I went to Craiova Romania in the 2000s. There was an Al Bundy shoes that actually sold really nice dress shoes. That's cultural impact! Why isn't Married with Children on here?!?!
Everybody loves Raymond deserve an honorable mention.
ELR deserves top 10! Maybe even top 5.
Really?
Agreed!
Yes a top 10 for sure!

Seinfeld is better than all of those. Office does not even belong in the Dane sentence. 30 rock does though
@@Cotelw8345 Seinfeld I give it it’s props, but for me the office was more ambitious and had better main characters/character development.
Lol
That 70s show needs to be higher. It’s a classic
They are already high 😎
My friends did a list of traits they had in common with the characters and the character I was most like was red
How does The Honeymooners, Everybody loves Raymond, the Cosby Show and The Carol Burnett Show not even get an honorable mention?
The Carol Burnett Show was more variety or sketch show. Mama’s Family should’ve got an honorable mention, though.
Yes Honeymooners
Rachel : "what do you say ? Can i be your girlfriend again ?"
Yes , That's it , they weren't on a break , they totally broke up
Facts...
Sht up nothing can match with frnds

Seinfeld is so boring.

The Simpsons is the GOAT sitcom. It might animated but it is, still in fact, a sitcom. South Park should be there too and both should be top 5.
They should be top 15
It's implied that it's live action.
Three's Company is by far my favorite sitcom. It didn't even get an honorable mention. John Ritter is histerically funny.
They prob didn’t mention because it isn’t PC
Mine too.
malcom in the middle deserves more than an honorable mention
Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens deserved at least an honorable mention each.
So we're not considering Arrested Development a sitcom? Gotcha.
No list about best sitcoms can be taken seriously without the Cosby Show, I know the reason it's not on but the fact is the show was hugely popular and should be here in spite of Cosby's crimes.
Scrubs, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Arrested Development and Community all being left off is crazy.
I've seen Frasier in its entirety 6 times and I keep going back to it. Best sitcom of all time imo.
As a kid growing up in the 90's I loved friends, but now I don't find it nearly as funny and it hasn't aged well.... Frasier kills me every single rewatch.
No matter how many times I watch a frasier episode, I always laugh as if it's the first i'm seeing it
Hope reboot is good , not gonna be the same without niles and martin
My rating is the following:
1.Seinfield
2. Two and Half Men
3. Friends
I will always love That 70s Show. One of the few shows where everybody was actually a funny character

Married with children is the show that released us from all the Cosby show like show's. Ground breaking in every way.
You are right, where the hell is the Cosby show? We didnt know Cliff drugged everyone back then...
Married with children deserved top 10 at least.
A lot funnier, too!! On the script for the pilot episode, there was a note that said, "Not the Cosby Show"!! We didn't need another one of those, and "MWC" sure wasn't another one!! I still watch the reruns on Logo!! Al Bundy will always be one of my fave sitcom characters!!
Decent list; It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia should be on over Schitt's Creek for sure. Parks and Rec could crack top 20 as well. Good stuff though!
Schitts Creek can stay but to not have It's Always Sunny even as an honorable mention and Malcolm in the Middle on here is criminal
I really wish Everybody Loves Raymond would get more attention. I'm an old-fashioned 22 year old who loves Raymond and The Dick Van Dyke Show. I've seen all these shows on this list, but Everybody Loves Raymond is STILL my favorite sitcom. It makes my brother and I laugh more than any other show out there.
Everybody Loves Raymond is hilarious. One of the best casts ever and some of the best writing.
Frasier is a pretty good one too,if a bit classier than your typical sitcom
No way Rayomond´s show wasn´t better than Will & Grace to name a 90s show.
I'd have had Frasier in my top five, possibly top three, and made room for Everybody Loves Raymond, Scrubs and the Golden Girls somewhere in the top 20.

Well-put!!👍
What are you on about now? HIMYM had an awful ending. Sure, the rest of the writing was good, but the ending was horrendous.
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 I said it has some of the best writing and explained how the show backtracks to tie up loopholes in its plotline. I don't understand why you questioned me and then proceeded to say it was good writing.
