How are you going to leave out The Cosby Show? That show was #1 for five straight seasons and was a ratings hit. It portrayed African Americans in a positive light as an upper middle class family. But anyway, here are a few others worth mentioning: 1. Good Times 2. Family Matters 3. The Bob Newhart Show 4. The Beverly Hillbillies 5. Petticoat Junction 6. Laverne & Shirley 7. Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. 8. Martin
Honestly this is a hard list to make there are SO many great sit coms! I love the list. I definitely want to watch all in the family now! And some of those 2000's classics I've missed like Community and Arrested. Parks and Rec will always be my #1 Comfort show ❤
Mine is Mash second is Cheers, third is Andy Griffith fourth is I Love Lucy honorable mention Growing Pains, The Facts Of Life, Three's Company Too Close For Comfort Coach Home Improvement, Roseanne (80's) Get Smart (60's) Dick Van Dyke Perfect Strangers. Etc.
Seinfeld is not better than all in the family, I love Lucy and friends and golden girls. It’s an acquired taste. Not everyone finds it funny, as opposed to to the others that I mentioned.
I think Seinfeld is funny but All in the Family on groundbreaking alone should be higher than Seinfeld. All in the Family was super funny but also tackled tough issues. Lucy was one of the first great sitcoms and should be higher than Seinfeld. Seinfeld is top 10 maybe top 5 but not #1. No way.
Yea it is, case in point, I can go back and watch All in the Family reruns for a while, and I was old enough to see them in first run. But I only do that once in awhile, and I enjoy it but then I don't go back to it for a while. However I'm telling you every single night at my house is a Seinfeld night. For two straight hours one night, and I still laugh every time I don't care how many times Kramer comes through the door in a ridiculous way. I don't care how many times Jerry finds fault with his current girlfriend. I don't care how many times George goes on about his insecurities and his parents. And I don't care how many times Elaine pushes Jerry or one of the guys against the wall. I laugh every time and that's saying a lot.
Living Single over Friends any day. That 70's show but when they tried to replace Eric it wasn't the same. How can you not have Brooklyn 99 on here so many qouteable moments yall even have a video dedicated to it. I know we don't want to talk about The Cosby show but that show easily was top 10 at best shame that he turned out to be a monster cause if that didn't happen that show would be here.
I have to like this video midway just because I got to see two scenes that gave me abdominal pain of laughing so much - the Bluth's doing the "chicken" dance, and Sweet Dee hitting the car with her head after stealing some shows.
@@conscientiousobserver8772 I love Lucy!! That show is still on the air and very funny. I grew up watching it on re-runs. One of TV's best. But Seinfeld was a phenomenon.
@@hunt08234 Definitely, for those born at the right time. The Phenom hit a certain demographic that was relatable and often hilarious. For me, Lucy will always be the GOAT.
My top 3 is…… 3. All in the Family 2. Seinfeld 1. I Love Lucy I think the reason that I love Lucy does not take the number one spot is because it came out in the 50s and isn’t as recent as Seinfeld
Modern audiences like jokes that you have to think about at least a little. I could tell you the punch lines to almost every joke on I Love Lucy BEFORE anyone says them
@ don’t get me wrong. I love Seinfeld. I am part of a group that quotes it day in and day out on Facebook, but in my opinion, if it weren’t for I Love Lucy, there would be no modern sitcom as we know it.
@@roberthanson6156 You're kidding, right?!? Seinfeld rarely even uses a structure where you COULD guess any punch lines. Most of the humor is in parentheses. Sorry, wrong answer.
Scrubs is probably my favorite sitcom of all time. I met Sarah Chalke years ago while the show was still on the air. She was more than happy to listen to me GUSH for about 15 minutes. VERY cool lady!
@@KatInJapan-q2e It's just WAAAAAAY too old. I'm almost 50 and I don't like it. Modern audiences want sitcoms to have more sophisticated humor. I can guess the punch line to almost every joke on I Love Lucy before I hear it.
@@HeelSection3825 this has nothing to do with what they just said. this list has nothing to do with humor, they literally aid at the start that this is based on cultural significance
@@manfacetweek Um, yes it did. Before Seinfeld, sitcoms had VERY obvious humor. Seinfeld changed everything! Sorry, if you don't understand anything beyond "take my wife, please" but most people consider that kind of stuff VERY dated.
HIMYM was not a "botched ending" people dont want to admit that life is not " happy go lucky and things work out" because we were traditionalized to the modern sitcom. It was real raw and sad. And thats life it doesn't always work out, it doesn't always seem ok, and definitely not what you thought. How i met your mother is not about how you met the mom but what it took to do along the way ......(editors note HIMYM is better than friends)
It was definitely a botched ending, it seemed abrupt and poorly timed. Like they tried to squeeze it in at the very end. People aren't mad about the ending because there is always a good way to deliver an ending that people don't want, and that wasn't it
You said "culture significant" and left out The Cosby Show and The Honeymooners and its cartoon version The Flintstones which was the first adult tinged cartoon not just for kids...
My list (In somewhat of a particular order? 1. Mash 2. Family Guy 3. 3rd Rock from the Sun 4. Becker 5. The Drew Carey Show 6. Seinfeld 7. The Jeffersons 8. Frasier 9. Red Dwarf 10. Fresh Prince of Bel Air
American sitcoms* Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses, Father Ted, Still Game.. all should be in there, and arguably the first three should be in the top 10 of all time.
Are they THAT Lazy to change it up the list of top 30? The at the top 20 spots are literally the same as the top 20 video but with added extra 10 above it to make it top 30 HOW LAZY ARE THEY TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS??? Mind you that “Friends” is still on Number 7 like in the original top 20 video where no one agreed
My little sister and I were first introduced to The Andy Griffith Show a little over a decade ago by our mom. We would’ve been…probably 6 and 8 or 7 and 9 the first time our mom showed us the show. We haven’t watched it in a lon time but we absolutely loved it during our childhood ❤️
I understand why it's missing, but the Cosby show deserves to be here. This is a sitcom list, not taking into account the real life actors behind the characters.
1. George Lopez 2. Children's Hospital 3. Spin City 4. Mike and Molly 5. Steve Harvey Show 6. The Parent 'Hood 7. Unhappily Ever After 8. Married With Children 9. Just Shoot Me ! 10. Malcolm In The Middle 11. The Big Bang Theory 12. Night Court 13. That ''70s Show 14. The Bernie Mac Show 15. Blue Mountain State 16. Grace Under Fire 17. Entourage 18. Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell 19. The King Of Queens 20. Saved By The Bell
It's Always Sunny at 22 is insane to me. Abbott Elementary is still going, but definitely deserves to be on this list imo. Also NO EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND?!
So glad to see Friends so low on the list. And trust me, 7 is super low to some people who love Friends. When the last episode aired, I swear to God, people acted like it was the second coming of Jesus!!! Yeah...I fking hate Friends....
The Cosby Show (my all-time favorite show in spite of what we know about Bill Cosby now) Family Matters The Bernie Mac Show Living Single Martin The Golden Girls (the four funniest women in tv history) Everybody Loves Raymond (Probably my favorite ensemble cast of any television show, apart from The Cosby Show. I wouldn't change any of them for another actor. They were perfect.) The Middle (the most underrated sitcom of the last 15 years in my opinion) Everybody Hates Chris Sanford and Son The Andy Griffith Show Boy Meets World Moesha Married with Children The Office (US) (another one the greatest ensemble casts)
I’m surprised It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia isn’t higher since it’s one of the longest running (hilarious) sitcoms and it’s still making new episodes today.
I would definitely put All in the Family, MASH, Cheers and The Office in the top 5. I would think that All in the Family would be at the top because it had a huge cultural influence. It's a show that would never be produced nowadays. Happy to see 'Frasier' in the top 10. Man, I loved that show.
No Cosby Show is crazy and having Friends on here and no Living Single like they ain’t steal the whole premise is wild work. Good Times should be on here too!
Three’s Company is a remake of the British ITV network (made by London weekday franchise Thames) sitcom Man About The House, there was 2 spin off sequels George & Mildred (remade as The Ropers) and Robin’s Nest (Remade as Three’s A Crowd). Richard O’Sullivan who played Robin even composed the theme song to Robin’s Nest. All In The Family was also a remake of BBC sitcom Till Death Do Us Part. One interesting fact about Till Death Do Us Part the son in law Mike was played by Anthony Booth who was father of Cherie Blair wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Which of these iconic sitcoms do you think has had the biggest cultural impact?

The fact that Mama's Family isn't even mentioned is criminal. That being said, Frasier, M.A.S.H., and I love Lucy are legends.
Idc,Married with Children will always be no.1
Parks and Recreation is my #1.
Taxi was brilliant, and Louie was one of the best sitcom characters ever
TV guide once named him the best.
#1 Seinfeld
Sanford and Son!!!
Etc.
Married With Children is myfavourite of all time. Would not be made today.
And a big Thank You to Terry Rakolta for having a big hissy fit and making the show even bigger. Take THAT Terry!!!!!
For two straight hours one night, and I still laugh every time
I don't care how many times Kramer comes through the door in a ridiculous way. I don't care how many times Jerry finds fault with his current girlfriend.
I don't care how many times George goes on about his insecurities and his parents. And I don't care how many times Elaine pushes Jerry or one of the guys against the wall. I laugh every time and that's saying a lot.
Two and a Half Men? It's definitely one of the best at its peak before Charlie Sheen left.
But I also have to say those are wayyyyyy too low in the ranking, which is obviously very US classics centric
Saved by the bell
The Cosby show
Family ties
should be there somewhere.
But you got one thing right, Seinfeld is numero uno!
Definitely agree about Family ties, though how Lucy isn't number one is beyond me. The show's never been off the air, obviously still popular.
@@conscientiousobserver8772
I love Lucy!!
No New Girl?! Criminal!
Never heard of it.
I agree
I also would have included “Full House” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.
My top 3 is……
3. All in the Family
2. Seinfeld
1. I Love Lucy
I think the reason that I love Lucy does not take the number one spot is because it came out in the 50s and isn’t as recent as Seinfeld
Modern audiences like jokes that you have to think about at least a little. I could tell you the punch lines to almost every joke on I Love Lucy BEFORE anyone says them
@ people can do the same thing with Seinfeld
@ don’t get me wrong. I love Seinfeld. I am part of a group that quotes it day in and day out on Facebook, but in my opinion, if it weren’t for I Love Lucy, there would be no modern sitcom as we know it.
Agree with #1, for sure. Just thinking about some of the scenes still make me laugh, even though the show had ended before I was born.
@@roberthanson6156 You're kidding, right?!? Seinfeld rarely even uses a structure where you COULD guess any punch lines. Most of the humor is in parentheses. Sorry, wrong answer.
I know why you didn’t include The Cosby Show, but that doesn’t take away from its importance.
Home Improvement is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time for me
Everybody Loves Raymond, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Roseanne & Seinfeld
Always sunny should be top 10
Curb and Seinfeld is where it is at.
Modern Family is easily top 5. Parks & Rec and Married with Children are also criminally low
Scrubs is probably my favorite sitcom of all time. I met Sarah Chalke years ago while the show was still on the air. She was more than happy to listen to me GUSH for about 15 minutes. VERY cool lady!
I Love Lucy wasn’t number one!?!? WTF?!? Her sitcom set up so much for future ones.
@@manfacetweek Then Seinfeld should be number one. Which, it is.
@@HeelSection3825 not at all. there were more than enough great sitcoms before Seinfeld, they didn't do shit for sitcom culture
@@manfacetweek Um, yes it did. Before Seinfeld, sitcoms had VERY obvious humor. Seinfeld changed everything! Sorry, if you don't understand anything beyond "take my wife, please" but most people consider that kind of stuff VERY dated.
Well, Martin Crane might seem like the audience stand-in to *you*, but I identify more with Frasier and Niles. And I’m not ashamed of it!
Niles is my favourite character on the show.
@ , 100%!
Where was The Nanny? I loved that show!!! 😄
Seinfeld ♥
Yes it never gets old ever.❤❤❤
Arrested Development - it was clever, smart, & funny. if not for certain circumstances I honestly think they'd still be making this show. 👨🏿💻
the title should have been "top 30 greatest AMERICAN sitcoms of all time".
Only two B&W shows...it's nowhere near "of all time" either.
IASIP, parks and rec, 30 rock and Community are better than Schitts Creek
HIMYM was not a "botched ending" people dont want to admit that life is not " happy go lucky and things work out" because we were traditionalized to the modern sitcom. It was real raw and sad. And thats life it doesn't always work out, it doesn't always seem ok, and definitely not what you thought. How i met your mother is not about how you met the mom but what it took to do along the way ......(editors note HIMYM is better than friends)
There were issues with how they wrapped that show up. Because of that I would have at least put it way down on this list. If at all.
It was definitely a botched ending, it seemed abrupt and poorly timed. Like they tried to squeeze it in at the very end. People aren't mad about the ending because there is always a good way to deliver an ending that people don't want, and that wasn't it
Seinfeld is the greatest of all time!
I think Seinfeld is the best! 👊😎
What’s your favorite episode?
@@WatchMojoprobably the one with the chicken place opening across the street and Jerry and Kramer swapping apartments.
@p3tur 😂😂😂😂
I physically jumped when Frasier’s pistol went off 😂 It legitimately shocked me but also cracked me up
Thank God friends wasn't at 1. I'd be really angry if it was.
You said "culture significant" and left out The Cosby Show and The Honeymooners and its cartoon version The Flintstones which was the first adult tinged cartoon not just for kids...
Seinfeld better be n1
Or what?? Just kidding 😅
You guys in the comments need to stop expecting the Cosby show to be honoured. Do you not know what r*pe is???
My list (In somewhat of a particular order?
1. Mash
2. Family Guy
3. 3rd Rock from the Sun
4. Becker
5. The Drew Carey Show
6. Seinfeld
7. The Jeffersons
8. Frasier
9. Red Dwarf
10. Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Now this is what I call rigged. The only placement I agree with is Seinfeld & The Office above Friends.
American sitcoms*
Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses, Father Ted, Still Game.. all should be in there, and arguably the first three should be in the top 10 of all time.
You’re dead wrong. The Andy Griffith Show, number one.
FRIENDS AT 7?!?!?!??! 😂😂😂😂
Could you BE anymore wrong.
You have lost all Unagi senses.
Youre right, far too high.
@@Betterthingswecanachieve friends should be in the 70s
@@92akucaballero97should be in the 100s
Yes it should have been much lower, like not on the list lower.
Sorry not a Freinds fan. That whole Ross and Rachel thing got old.
Bewitched? Barney Miller? The Honeymooners?
Are they THAT Lazy to change it up the list of top 30?
The at the top 20 spots are literally the same as the top 20 video but with added extra 10 above it to make it top 30 HOW LAZY ARE THEY TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS???
Mind you that “Friends” is still on Number 7 like in the original top 20 video where no one agreed
Thanks for including Community, but the fact that Malcolm in the middle and Brooklyn 99 are missing is a travesty!
I can think of 20 shows that are funnier.
Not sure how Sanford and Son and Dick van Dyke don't get on here, but a middling show propped up by a laugh track (Big Bang) does
Married with Children!
Home Improvement, Family Matters and Full House
Didn't even show up?! My 90s jams ❤️
I love Three's Company. My favorite episode is the one with the big misunderstanding.
Oh, that one. 😜
Friends is the best.
Barely laughed during season 6.
I understand why it's missing, but the Cosby show deserves to be here. This is a sitcom list, not taking into account the real life actors behind the characters.
1. George Lopez
2. Children's Hospital
3. Spin City
4. Mike and Molly
5. Steve Harvey Show
6. The Parent 'Hood
7. Unhappily Ever After
8. Married With Children
9. Just Shoot Me !
10. Malcolm In The Middle
11. The Big Bang Theory
12. Night Court
13. That ''70s Show
14. The Bernie Mac Show
15. Blue Mountain State
16. Grace Under Fire
17. Entourage
18. Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell
19. The King Of Queens
20. Saved By The Bell
Most of those shows are awful guy
Yeah dude, George Lopez isn't even a Top 30 Show named George Lopez, you have mediocre taste.
It's Always Sunny at 22 is insane to me. Abbott Elementary is still going, but definitely deserves to be on this list imo. Also NO EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND?!
The fact that The Cosby Show isn’t even mentioned is beyond criminal
So glad to see Friends so low on the list.
And trust me, 7 is super low to some people who love Friends.
When the last episode aired, I swear to God, people acted like it was the second coming of Jesus!!!
Yeah...I fking hate Friends....
Me too. Ross and Rachel, will they or won't they. Were they on a break. Spare me😂
2:30 Now the T-Mobile ads are even funnier
The Cosby Show (my all-time favorite show in spite of what we know about Bill Cosby now)
Family Matters
The Bernie Mac Show
Living Single
Martin
The Golden Girls (the four funniest women in tv history)
Everybody Loves Raymond (Probably my favorite ensemble cast of any television show, apart from The Cosby Show. I wouldn't change any of them for another actor. They were perfect.)
The Middle (the most underrated sitcom of the last 15 years in my opinion)
Everybody Hates Chris
Sanford and Son
The Andy Griffith Show
Boy Meets World
Moesha
Married with Children
The Office (US) (another one the greatest ensemble casts)
did you leave Malcolm in the Middle out or it's not considered as a sitcom?
It was legendary sitcoms that most people know no matter age.
Seinfeld may just be the most overrated show since television was invented.
No Two and a half men or Everybody Loves Raymond is criminal
I’m surprised It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia isn’t higher since it’s one of the longest running (hilarious) sitcoms and it’s still making new episodes today.
I think Mash should be number 1, I love Lucy number 2 and number 3 Happy Days
I would definitely put All in the Family, MASH, Cheers and The Office in the top 5. I would think that All in the Family would be at the top because it had a huge cultural influence. It's a show that would never be produced nowadays. Happy to see 'Frasier' in the top 10. Man, I loved that show.
Cosby Show absolutely belongs on the list. It was the number one comedy show in the 80s
Agree.
We can separate the art from the artist
Whenever I need a laugh or to get out of a funk my go to show will always be The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She does turn the world on with her smile.
No Cosby Show is crazy and having Friends on here and no Living Single like they ain’t steal the whole premise is wild work. Good Times should be on here too!
The Big Bang Theory is my favourite sitcom ever along with The Golden Girls and Three’s Company
TBBT is bad. I'd say you should feel bad, but as you like TGG, that would be incorrect of me.
I really thought I Love Lucy was gonna be number one and Seinfeld number two
Three’s Company is a remake of the British ITV network (made by London weekday franchise Thames) sitcom Man About The House, there was 2 spin off sequels George & Mildred (remade as The Ropers) and Robin’s Nest (Remade as Three’s A Crowd).
