Maureen Nolan is killing it as Mrs Johnston on the current tour. Sean, Mark and Warwick are back too. Lost count the amount of times I've seen this show since 1994!
I am so glad I discovered this cllip! Wonderful final curtain call in London! I only saw "Blood Brothers" once, on Broadway, in the early or mid-1990s, with Carole King as Mrs. Johnston and Adrian Zmed as the Narrator. I loved it them, and I still love it today, almost 20 years later. It touched my heart then, and it still touches my heart today. I am quite sure that "Blood Brothers" remains as my favorite musical, although others may have been fancier and more costly productions.
This was my indoctrination into theatre, 25 years ago. As fate would have it, through applying for employment whilst doing my business NVQ, I didn't get the job at the York Magistrates Court, but instead got one at the Grand Opera House. How bloody lucky was I?! I'd only ever seen film musicals before and heard the score to Phantom. This blew me away; I've seen it at least 20 times now and heard it more times; when we had the 2 week run, turned the speaker up in our office to hear every matinee whilst working. I had the pleasure of speaking to the great Bill Kenwright and working with his company to publicise this and Joseph. Now, home educating my daughter, I'm ecstatic it's one of the play options for GCSE English. Just wish I could find the 95 filmed version with Stephanie Lawrence, Warwick Evans and Paul Crosby. My favourite cast, hands down
I was first introduced to musical theatre by Blood Brother 'Long Sunday Afternoon/My Bestfriend' is my fave. absolutely love it. I agree we need a DVD.
Donna Berry I sang the songs when I was around 13/14 in my local summer school and I was hooked. I then sang Tell me it’s not true for my performing arts G.C.S.E exam and I got an A for it. I have never sang like I did then ever. I even cried while singing it. Think that’s what got me my A lol 😁They defo do need to bring a film out and soon 😊
@@seanyboyoc I agree. He's one of the best of his generation, and very versatile. He was terrific in the Blues Brothers (on stage). He appeared as two different characters in 'Pie in the Sky' and other TV shows as a guest. He sings well too, with quite a distinctive voice. His projects are few but he's always excellent.
I was there there too.... Actually i am the one who was screaming BRAVO in the video XD, however was a great night for a great show, And i really hope to see that again in the west end!!
Is that Lynn Paul playing Mrs J? Saw her in Bristol a few years ago and she blew me away! My all time favourite though was Bernie Nolan. Saw it 12 times ... Still my favorite
Sorry for a late reply, I believe he is filming for a BBC 3 show called Uncle currently, he has had a steady acting career since Blood Brothers though. :)
They were both there on the night, right at the start. The video comes in on the 27th slide, so you can't see them. I just checked to be sure, as it was my job to put them up... Wouldn't want to have missed those!
She did Broadway, not London. I only know about this play because David Cassidy died. YT started filling up the feed with videos of him, and there's one of him and Shaun singing "Tell Me It's Not True."
My all time favourite stage show.... and I've seen a lot. I agree .... there needs to a DVD or even .... film version for the cinema. PLEASE
indeed it's one of mine too. seen it 2 times,(us Tour and a college production) I have *MANY* versions of the soundtrack . It's a *GREAT* show!
I have seen 11 times last timmme yesterday . Istarted watching i first n London Brillint.
Very late reply but I love this, but a film version of blood brothers would ruin it. Some things like this, should stay live performance
I was thinking it would be a nice opportunity to be able to direct a screen adaptation
Must if seen this show over 15 times in the last 10 years best show on the west end nothing will beat it

"To you three up there, God bless you" I cried for about half an hour
Sadly can add David Cassidy & Graham Martin to that list now!

I remember the first time I saw this in 1989. Con O'Neil was amazing as one of the boys. Wonder what he's acting in now?
Sean O'Connor Chernobyl
Con appears to be selective in his projects. Have watched as many appearances as possible. He was wonderful in Dancin' Thru the Dark.'
@@voulafisentzidis8830 that’s interesting. He was in Chernobyl too. I think he’s very underrated

She did Broadway, not London. I only know about this play because David Cassidy died. YT started filling up the feed with videos of him, and there's one of him and Shaun singing "Tell Me It's Not True."
On a talk show. Petula played their mother.
