@@lennyg47 Holy crap! I hadn't seen these before. Today, you have performed heroically as a commenter, and made the world a better place. Truly a kami among men!
Excellent reaction. 'Megitsune' has regularly topped fan polls for favourite song, I think you just found out why. It is also a staple in their live shows - they have played it in the vast majority of their concerts ever since it was first introduced. It's one of those songs that everybody can sing, jump and dance along with and the whole crowd can get involved. I think it is the perfect example of a BABYMETAL song, it brings in some traditional Japanese elements, it goes hard, Yui and Moa get to lead the crowd chants and Su's vocals are mesmerising. The breakdown in the middle uses the melody from an old Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (cherry blossom). There are so many good live versions - Metrock 2015, Budokan Red Night (or Black Night) from 2014, Metrock 2016 they had everybody in the crowd sit down after the breakdown and all jump at once, Legend 2015 at Saitama Super Arena was just spectacular ... the list goes on, but I would suggest one of those for a reaction to a live version (I think only the Budokan ones in that list are on RUclips though). That wasn't the Kami Band, it was dancers from the lady in the fox mask who did the fan dance during the breakdown's troupe with traditional instruments. You won't see the Kami Band in any official video that wasn't filmed at a live performance.
Oh I see, the kami band didnt do the recording either? I know that Legend is the highest quality one apparently. If I was to do that one I would definitely need to do that whole link and sync type thing. I also agree, MEGITSUNE is definitely a perfect blend of Babymetal
@@Detrucci We really only know that guitarist Leda Cygnus of the Kami Band has been involved in any studio recordings. Some of the others may have been but we just don't know - their role is as the live support band for concerts. Yes it will have to be link & sync for Legend 2015 unless you can get your reaction on another platform like vimeo or reactorhub and just do a short RUclips video to provide the link to that. The official videos are all good, so I hope you do react to them, but as you know, live is where they excel and where they sound best too (largely because Su's voice is over-processed in the studio). I was super excited to see you chose the official MV. There are a few that I think can be argued are a great first listen to a Babymetal song: Megitsune, Karate, and I, D, Z. Great reaction! How did I get from Van Canto and Pentatonix all the way to Detrucci doing reactions to Babymetal?!? I'll spare you the full tale, but will say this: Megitsune was my intro to Babymetal. RUclips had been suggesting this group to me (almost to the point of annoyance) and I finally caved to the pressure. While a bit put-off by how young the trio were here, I was really taken with Su-metal's vocals. And, yes, that incredible breakdown. So I watched more of the official MVs. I thought, this is great, but just a short-lived project, the girls will grow up blah blah blah... Until I watched Road of Resistance (Live in Japan). Then I knew they would have some staying power. Karate was released shortly after. Then I asked the question, how did this happen? (As Scott Hoying of Pentatonix did in the FBE reaction video on Babymetal.) So now I know all the names of the Sakura Gakuin members of 2010 - 2014 and many from later, the short-lived Karen Girl's, and recently a few of the Morning Musume members around the same time as SG. Life is strange and wonderful.
Oh wow :) When I did Road of Resistance at first I was really smiling during it but i wasnt fully 100% sure on them yet. I did Rondo after that and once I heard the heavy instrumentation there and the stage presentation, I was sold :D

Nice one. I know everyone says 'live' is best but if you don't watch the music videos as well then you miss out on some little gems. In this one you saw the microphone knife, in Headbanger you miss the neck brace that you then see in at least one other live video (Death) and you may even see some fans wearing/carrying and think WTF. In the MV for iine the middle section is different to what most later live versions show, I wont say how it is different, that's for you to find out but I will say this, once you think that Babymetal cant surprise you any more watch that MV, and the live as well if you want. There are probably other examples as well that I cant think of just now.
Kitsune, Kitsune watashi wa Megitsune... ... loved your reaction to that high pitched scream before those words... this is one of those songs that made me think "What the f*** was I doing back in 2013 that I wasn't banging my freaking head to THIS???" ... I never thought so much about Time Machines as when I started listening to Babymetal and all that was going on in those first years (2012-2015) ... ain't this just a song worth to tattoo it's name in the chest? In Japanese and along with a little noseless skull!! Kitsunes Up! This song live is always aaaaaaafuckingmazing... this is a moment in any concert that gets everyone jumping. You should react to "Kimi to anime ga mitai" live in Saitama Super Arena... a lot of Yui and Moa space...
Everything is metal if you play it hard enough. The breakdown of this song is based on the folk song "Sakura sakura" (cherry blossom) which is usually performed by old ladies wearing kimonos singing in a high pitched voice. Look it up, click the first youtube link. She pulls the blade out of the mike saying "nametara ikan zeyo" meaning women should be not underestimated. It's a quote from an iconic movie about a daughter of a Yakuza boss from the early 20th century. See the last seconds of its trailer ruclips.net/video/RaPtyrQDf88/видео.html
Su in non-BABYMETAL clothes you say?... It might be a bit too early to start recommending a vid or two from Sakura Gakuin, but we'll get there eventually.
Hate to disappoint you but that is not the Kami band. It's a studio track performed by whoever and the people in the video are acting. Whoever they are. There are tons of live videos with the Kami band performing this song. It's one of their most performed songs.

In the MV for iine the middle section is different to what most later live versions show, I wont say how it is different, that's for you to find out but I will say this, once you think that Babymetal cant surprise you any more watch that MV, and the live as well if you want. There are probably other examples as well that I cant think of just now.
なんか好きなのが凄く伝わってくる

Pls react to the love version of megitsune. This is awesome
Love version?
Karate mv is also great.
6:48 thats name katana, not samurai :D
Now react to *other song Heavy* by BabyMetal: *Sis. Anger*
Katana Mic. Karate offical video is a must
This is one of the most beloved songs.
I can see why 🙂
Everything is metal if you play it hard enough. The breakdown of this song is based on the folk song "Sakura sakura" (cherry blossom) which is usually performed by old ladies wearing kimonos singing in a high pitched voice. Look it up, click the first youtube link.
She pulls the blade out of the mike saying "nametara ikan zeyo" meaning women should be not underestimated. It's a quote from an iconic movie about a daughter of a Yakuza boss from the early 20th century. See the last seconds of its trailer ruclips.net/video/RaPtyrQDf88/видео.html
Wait till you see the live version! Speaking of live, did you make it to Barrowlands?
AS LIVES SÃO MELHORES QUE OS VÍDEOS CLIPES
Su in non-BABYMETAL clothes you say?...
It might be a bit too early to start recommending a vid or two from Sakura Gakuin, but we'll get there eventually.
You have to see live video of this song at Mexico city in 2015.
Hate to disappoint you but that is not the Kami band. It's a studio track performed by whoever and the people in the video are acting. Whoever they are. There are tons of live videos with the Kami band performing this song. It's one of their most performed songs.
essa musica é muito legal. ótimo video.
Sim, é um videoclipe muito bonito
Proper Japanese pronunciation: MUH - jit - soo - nee. 1 vowel per syllable in Japanese language, as a general rule.
Sorry for being a smartass, but this is still pretty far off. Just listen to the chorus to hear the correct pronunciation.
@@MacTaipan Corrected pronunciation, straight from Japan. Do what you want .
@@POWER-LINKS What? I didn't intend to make a big deal out of it, but since you insist: Assuming you are talking about how an English speaker would pronounce those syllables:
me is not pronounced MUH; it resembles the me in "men" (not quite, but much closer than MUH);
gi(t) is not pronounced ji(t); the leading g is a hard consonant like in "guitar";
(t)soo is OK;
ne is not pronounced nee; it resembles the ne in never;
@@MacTaipan 9 words. Think about it. RLOFL
The correct pronunciation would be:
"me" like in "men"
"gi" like in "give"
"tsu" like in "tsunami"
"ne" like in "nemesis"
