Happy birthday! I have an idea for a video:
A base or fortress of some kind that is built using Redstone related blocks and blocks that look similar to the redstone blocks (for example, oak wood, slime and stone for pistons and netherite blocks for hoppers and so on). I’m not expecting a city if this idea was tackled, but do as you please. It’s just an idea that popped in my head when I saw your diamond and emerald bases…

@@Mike-mf3ed you mean like a redstone themed fortress, like there's a piston district, observer district, slime district and so on? Sounds awesome if you ask me lol

Ballista: During the Middle Ages, it was one of the original weapons that had success against fortified castle walls throughout Europe. The most famous appearance of the ballista in the Middle Ages was the Siege of Dover in 1216, when the French were able to get through Dover Castle's walls. Although it was the ancient Greeks that invented it.
Trebuchet: This war machine was invented during the late Middle Ages by the Chinese (around 1400 AD) in order to destroy the great walls of the enemy palaces

Interesting fact about the greek world: not only Athens had an Akropolis!
Actually almost all greek cities (poleis) had an Akropolis, with the one in Athens being the one best known today. They were the last resort of Defence of a city and often contained the religious center of the city and also the treasury.
A really impressive example of an Akropolis is the Akrocorinth, the Akropolis of Corinth, that towers high over the city (like literally, it’s ridiculous how one could counter that beast in the sky, look it up).

The thing is, since those are Survival servers, they usually aren't fit places for creative mode builders that use a lot of external tools and plugins such as worldedit. There are rare exceptions such as Joel who's exceptional at both survival and creative, but those examples are few and far between.

*Happy Birthday Mangoman!* Incredible build as always, at that point I feel really embarassed to complement and/or criticize your builds like that considering I'm not 10% as good of a Minecraft builder as you are. But really, this city turned out absolutely glamorous. The dock area surrounded by a wall is my favourite area. I just have a few history-related tidbits to note about the city, considering it's very much inspired by greek and roman architecture.
First of all, I find it rather intriguing that the city is a full mix of the Greek and Roman arstyles/architectures. They are considered pretty similar by some but that couldn't be farther from the truth, despite that the blend works really nice here. For example Palace area heavily reminds me of Athen's Acropolis, which is also a tiered palace/temple situated on a mountain at the centre of a city. The theatre you built looks very Greek-esque too, as these kinds of half-circle theatres were popular in there. The messy roads and alleyways also remind me of Ancient Greece, and the paddle ships you made are very much like those in the Argonauts' myth.
Meanwhile the rest of the city is very much Roman-esque, down to white buildings with the red roof tiles and of course, the Amphitheatre _(Which for some reason everyone seems to call Colosseum, in spite of the fact that the Colosseum is just the name of the single famous one in Rome)_ is one of the most Roman things one could imagine and probably the first thing people think of when they hear the word Rome.
Also, no matter how funny I find the presence of gallows in the market area *11:41* it is worth noting they weren't a form of punishement in the antiquity (Crucifiction was, instead), not like this build is supposed to be historically accurate of course.
One last thing I'll mention, it would've been cool to have a sort of a ''borrough'' area to the city where the poorest people of the town would live in, because 80% of the houses being for the rich and wealthy people and 20% being for the regular citizens/common folk is not that realistic and depicts a very utopian ancient world (Which, this being a fully fictional kingdom, I'm absolutely fine with). As the build is based upon ancient Greece/Rome so much, it would've also been very cool to have an aqueduct, but perhaps I'm asking for too much.
_Looks like I got carried away with writing again, so sorry for bothering._

very cool build. i heard you say that the architecture was Greek and Roman a few times, but it’s definitely just Roman. classical Greek architecture doesn’t really use amphitheaters, and some of the buildings definitely have a very Etruscan look which would make it Roman; the Greeks never had any ideological ties/exchanges with the Etruscans. other than that, Greek and Roman architecture is very similar. but once again, good job on this.

    Styles of Castles
    Motte-and-bailey castle / Shell keep
(You get a Shell Keep when you fully upgrade the wooden motte-and-bailey to stone.)
    Concentric castle
(Two or more curtain walls with cylindrical towers)
    Norman architecture
(Square exterior with Semicircular arches supported by massive cylinder pillars interior)
    Château/Schlöss (French & German)
(country/manor house build for luxury but also for defensive purposes, no turrets and false battlements)
    Palisade
(A wooden wall before it was upgraded to its stone counterpart)
    Crusaders Castle
(large vaulted chambers with massive walls, (three meters thick) running between ex & interior walls to corner towers. castle life included from kitchens; stables; forges; bakeries and bath-houses.)
    Medieval castles
(Moat, with or without water. Bastion barbican, gatehouse, curtain wall & towers, keep aka Don jon/great tower, bailey/inner ward area within the curtain wall)
A fort or fortress or fortification
is a castle that's is surrounded by a city (a city NEEDS to have a cathedral, a church that contains the Bishops' throne), and then the city is surrounded by a curtain wall
