as far as i'm aware, the only way to prevent the pillagers from spawning on your island is to spawn-proof all the grass/sand blocks, since they can only spawn on those
Another fun decorative trick for a wooden palisade wall that prevents spawns and looks cool is pointed dripstone. Place the dripstone atop the log columns to make them spawn-proofed and look sharpened.
Unironically I found these shaders in my last server I was doing with my nephew, and it's kinda cool to see someone else using it. I love how it looks and how the glowing effects are a nice quality of life change so I don't have to spam torches across the entire world.

I love diorite and birch. Haters can shove it where the sun don't shine! In 1.21 you don't have to worry about pillagers starting raids when you slay the captain anymore. Instead of getting the affect from slaying the captain you have to drink the bottle. For better or worse this has broken raid farms though I am sure the technical community will find a work around. Also you should look up an allay and silverfish XP farm. It is the next big thing in the community and now the fastest way to get XP in 1.21! Also now in 1.21, you can put lead ropes on boats and I would recommend that you use a chest boat to prevent multiple riders in one boat. But you can transport up to 8 mobs at a time now or even 16 if you use normal boats instead of chest boats. You can also transport boats up blocks instead of just down them. And another trick if they won't go up the block is to use a piston to push them up. It's much faster than mine carts especially in the early game.
I used a graphic tablet for a lot of things, I personally love krita but just found out that the new pureref update allows for drawing, so great place to keep my designs and draft ideas in an infinite canvas!
Pillagers need light level 8 and below to spawn, outside of torch spamming, recommend path blocks, slabs, etc to make low light level blocks non-spawnable
Excellent video as always! Just a tip, so you probably know it but maybe someone else on here doesn't, I find that leaving a trail of carrots or bread is more effective than using workstation. And they'll already have food in there inventory for breeding too. Might check it out
IDK if it will work but at least according to the Wiki, to stop Pillager Patrols from spawning within your island's land is to spawn proof every block. Natural light doesn't stop Pillager Patrols from spawning but perhaps torches and lanterns will? Slabs, Carpets and Moss Carpets will help. Also since you've built a village on your island then as long as you're near/in the village, Pillager Patrols will not spawn.
I love this style of hardcore where you just build instead of focusing on getting stuff immediately, I can’t do this style for some reason but I respect the patience for using iron tools for so long

You could have went with a holding cage below the ceeling from the ground level with a trapdoor to keep him in place until you come by with a cart as those are much easier to navigate with than boats.
a cool detail would be mossy stone, tuff and some sea grass for the part of the bridge that is underwater. Another suggestion: leave a one block space in between the villagers so they can face each other because they can talk with each other to lower the prices of your trades
Tip: you can keep the villagers inside by placing a trap door just right above your head, you will be able to get in and out but the villages long head will stop them
For your village builds you can try making the paths slowly worse on the not so rich houses, for example you can go from stone to dirt and coarse dirt lastly
Unlike other videos that they want to kill the Enders dragon now but he focuses on like building and mining respect him the goat of all hardcore people
I have watched almost the entire thing and have been enjoying it, but I realized you say 'OK?' in every single sentence. I hear it every 5 seconds, and I can't take it anymore.
That and every other word is a curse word. I have no problem with any words people want to use, but like with the 'OK', it's just so much that it's too irritating.

You can just capture pillager captain give him a nametag and hide him somewhere where he wont disturb you

21:30 you could use a bell and ring it so villagers go straight into the nearest bed
The river in the middle of the island is a cool feature. I think of it as a spring that feeds the surrounding lake.

Its worth remembering at enchantment trades got massively nearfed in 1.20.4 unless you have a datapack or something to remove that

Just a tip: to prevent villagers from escaping, shift-click a trapdoor on the top part of the door, to get in and out just use shift.
