I would be interesting in how you work with the actors. Is everything spontaneous or do you tell people what to do in front of the camera. There were two scenes in the original video. The one where the to guys duck from the kite looks scripted. If you take the scene where Annabel puts the cap on - was that just capturing the moment or did you "create" that scene?
2:02 I was at the trackhoe shoot and remember seeing one of those orange floaties fly way off into the great abyss! That really sucks, loosing a gopro or several. :(
I relly Love yours video and I know Im Young but I relly Love your style of making videos and I try To be awesome as you.I hope you will come to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Hey ! Really good as usually, when do you come in France to make a video. I am 14 and i'm a great fan of you. I want to become the same of you :p. It could be so cool you come....there's so many beautiful things....Anyway, same if you can't...can you put on the subtitles for your following videos same if it´s in english... Bye continue it´s so amazing !!!! 🎥👌😉
I don't see the relation with this? You shutter speed should be around 1/50th if shooting 24fps, 1/120th if shooting 60fps, the CP doesn't change that, it would darken a stop maybe the image, but with the sun brightness it doesn't affect the outcome, if it does then use higher ISO
EduarFilms Yeah, in theory it should be 1/50th but if you didn't use an ND filter you could knock up your shutter speed to a higher number to obtain a nice depth of field, the shots would just be a little more jittery. I just wasn't sure if you could stack ND filters and CP. It looked a little jumpy in some shots, was just curious what their method was.
EduarFilms Funny I was thinking of this myself! I think Devin cranks the shutter speed really, really high. As I recall from the BTS from the stadium jumping video, "It's a BOY!!! Quick Camera Tutorial," Devin was shooting at ISO 100, with F 2.8, but he had the shutter speed at 800 with a circular polarizer. That shot was on a tripod, so I assume jittering/unrealistic motion wouldn't be an issue, but Devin does seem to defy the traditional laws of shutter being twice the frame rate and using an ND outdoors.
Benjamin Gadberry Yeah, I actually remember seeing that video as well. I'm not saying any way is wrong, I was just more so just curious! I'm still learning myself, so interesting to see and hear other peoples techniques.
love your work Devin - thanks to you I bought myself a steadicam for my GoPro and started filming. If you like check out some of my nature videos on my channel :) Keep up the good work!

Great insight for people who have not seen the sport before, but remember Jake's advice on getting lessons before you try a power kite.

Beautiful you are the best ;)
Frinton is my local beach it's def the best beach in the uk
Devin, im interested in what F stop you find yourself going to the most to consistently keep you subjects in focus?
I'm not devin haha but to have everything in focus you want F8 and higher :) hope this helped
good job!! :D
hey i live in frinton on sea too
yeah patchy is a cool dude, and he has a habid of going everywhere in his van
how did you think of your name???
Анабэль реально крута!
Devin why do you turn the Glide cam upside down? Better stabilization?
It's so the camera is closer to the ground, and he can get the shot he wants.
lol
It's called low-mode. Where you are able to film closer to the floor.
Man some questions nowadays... hahah.
Wow, Annabel is Dutch and only 20. She' s awesome at what she does. :o
Do you have to use higher shutter speeds because you're using circular polarizers?

From what I've seen on the BTS, he only uses a B+W CP Filter, but for DOF shots, I guess he must use a ND or as you said, knock up the Shutter Speed
