oh wow! I'm 48 and just started pre prerequisites. 🙂 I'm so nervous. I started Nursing back in 1993, but due to finances and challenged at the time with some sciences, I changed degrees. I was also a social butterfly then tool Been teaching for over 16 years now. All of you over 40 are BIG encouragements. Thank you for sharing. All the best to you too Araina. I am 54 years old. I started in 2013 and and currently in the RN program, and I was set to graduate next week. Unfortunately, I failed my final and I didn't get the "C" to graduate. But Girl, we can do this. If it is your passion, nothing will stop you. God is on your side, He paved the way and He will see you to the finish.

Ladies, I'll be 55 next week I am set to return to nursing school this summer to continue my journey. I had to get on hormones because I wasn't sleeping and I failed two tests and I withdrew in my second semester. But by the grace of God, it looks like I'm going back in. If I can do it, anybody can do it ✨💜

I am 47 and I am going back to school to get my associates in nursing. I'm scared and I just feel dumb. I haven't been to school since I got my G.E.D in 1998. I currently work at a hospital as a PCT. The transition is so hard. I just need confidence.

I am 44 yrs old and is also taking my prerequisites for the Nursing program ( all I have left is the Fundamentals of Chemistry. It’s pass the 5yr mark) . Also I am trying to finish my BS in Psychology ( 24 credit hours to go)… It’s a mindset and not so much the age (tho I’m one ☝🏾 of the oldest in the class 😂😂😂)… My issue , during the years, have always been me needing to work at different jobs, for a paycheck and not fully enjoying what I was doing, I would get easily bored… I have received my associates in 07, while I was pregnant with my son, so most of the gen Eds I knocked out… I just have to raise my grades up so I can get in… Now that I’m back on the saddle, I refuse to let anyone or anybody tell me different because as we speak , I’m almost there… I’m proud of you 👏🏾 and for anybody who is a non-traditional student who is going thru the same bout 😊… WE GOT THIS 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤❤❤❤❤!!!!

I just turned 50 in Dec 2021, and I finally decided today that I am going back Spring quarter for Ultra sound tech.I have been a CNA for 30 years, and I want to make a change. I felt like I was too old, but I am encouraged by your video.
You go gurlllllll 💕! Is 50 the new 30 or what cuz you look good! You've got this. I walk around trying to motivate the CNAs I work with to go for their's because admin has zero respect for the work CNAs do. It's a tough job. My mom raised 5 kids on a CNA budget 😥. In every profession theres good and bad but when you find awesome that's when you know more is to come. I pray blessings and prosperity over you and your new journey 💕

I am a Respiratory Therapist and I have been for over 15 yrs but I haven’t practiced for 8 yrs although I keep my license up to date. I can relate to EVERYTHING that you are saying, the only difference is I do have experience with online classes because I have also been taking prerequisites through zoom. I am so unmotivated which is why I did this search on youtube...Lol...to see if there are any other mature women of a particular age going to nursing school. You have given me motivation and encouragement!! I have been taking 1 class and thought I was gone die! So good for u to be taking 3 classes... WOW...I have a grown son and I to am dating, working full-time and have high BP. I am trying to study for the Teas test because I applied to my local college SFCC and didn’t get in. It’s a very hard program to get in... very competitive and I still have 4 prerequisites to take but it’s still no guarantee that I will get in. So I am applying to Rasmussen in Ocala. I live in Gainesville. I will keep in touch with u as we go through this journey maybe we can keep each other encouraged! Be Blessed Sis

Lord and here I was begining to feel like the "imposter syndrome" was eating me up coz i felt so old going back to school after almost 20yrs. I’m 27 about to be 28 and I feel so weird around 18 year olds in my pre recs but it’s always refreshing to hear older people applying to nursing. I would rather go to school with someone 50 than 18 because I know they are more mature and serious about school. I just want to tell you all that you can do this♥️♥️♥️! I’m proud of all of you for following your heart and your dreams...Your passion for nursing will get you through...I’ve been an RN for five years so anything that I can do to help please let me know...one advice I want to give you is when you start actually taking nursing classes practice NCLEX questions on the topic you are studying. Read the rationale as well because there is a lot of information there that will help you to understand the content. I feel that it also trains your brain on how to tackle the testing style of questions that you will have in nursing school...one person that I really love too is Michael Linares..he is someone on RUclips who breaks each topic down in easy terms...I still watch him now to help me understand different systems..Good luck on your journey 🙏
The last thing a patient is concerned about is how old their nurse was when they went into nursing school. Do what God has called you to do, display compassion and empathy. And just be the nurse you were meant to be.

I started nursing some years back but it was coming out if my pocket and was too expensive. Mind you I’m well off into my career with a terminal degree and I’ve decided to go back to complete nursing at 46… I’m looking at ADN for cost purposes …people think I’m crazy like why but you know it’s not their journey but mine! Just graduated in August with my BSN and honestly i would never suggest online nursing school! I struggled hard with online program and hate online classes in general. But good luck to you!

Wow you look so young, you don't even look 50, but good luck to you! Iam about to be 42 and i am contemplating getting my RN. I have 16 years of military experience in the medical industry, i have a BA in Sociology and a MS in Information Technology Management and feel like i wasted time going to school and not having a career that makes decent money, RN looks like the only thing promising not many layoffs, either, i wish i would have just gotten my RN instead of getting my Masters but its all good. I guess i will just be a professional student for life😂😂😂

I'll say it's not the easiest because we tend to get in our own head and way but we can do all things through Christ. There is a nursing shortage so you have that on your side as well us old heads are more patient and we've seen so much done so much so who better to be nurses. You got this! Do what’s best for you but I have to tell you if I had it to do all over again 18 ++++++ yrs ago I would have gone for my RN and not my LPN. It’s a vast difference in pay, access to more jobs such as hospitals or just areas LPNs are not allowed which limits $ and growth. In the end it’s not about status or who’s better but what makes you more marketable and opens more doors for you to accomplish your purpose! Congrats to your niece on the NCLEX!!! 🎉🎉🎉!!! I pray that she prospers in every area of her life and may all that she thinks, does and say glorifies God and blesses others, amen! 🌹❤️

Hello congratulations on going back to school I know you’re going to do great even though I don’t know you lol! We are almost in the same type of situation however, I do have all of my prerequisites done except for the sciences and I did leave those off on purpose I know they have an expiration date of five years so I said that I was going to tackle those this fall and hopefully after completion of those applying to a nursing school your deficit you feel is working computers and my deficit is math I’m terrified of the Hesi where I live we have to do that in order to even be considered for nursing school. Maybe we can keep in touch with each other via email or Instagram or even RUclips about each others journeys since all your classes are online I think mine will be as well I’m not sure yet but nevertheless good luck!

I just want to tell you all that you can do this♥️♥️♥️! I’m proud of all of you for following your heart and your dreams...Your passion for nursing will get you through...I’ve been an RN for five years so anything that I can do to help please let me know...one advice I want to give you is when you start actually taking nursing classes practice NCLEX questions on the topic you are studying. Read the rationale as well because there is a lot of information there that will help you to understand the content. I feel that it also trains your brain on how to tackle the testing style of questions that you will have in nursing school...one person that I really love too is Michael Linares..he is someone on RUclips who breaks each topic down in easy terms...I still watch him now to help me understand different systems..Good luck on your journey 🙏

The last thing a patient is concerned about is how old their nurse was when they went into nursing school. Do what God has called you to do, display compassion and empathy. And just be the nurse you were meant to be.

I started nursing some years back but it was coming out if my pocket and was too expensive. Mind you I’m well off into my career with a terminal degree and I’ve decided to go back to complete nursing at 46… I’m looking at ADN for cost purposes …people think I’m crazy like why but you know it’s not their journey but mine! I wish you the best.
Just graduated in August with my BSN and honestly i would never suggest online nursing school! I struggled hard with online program and hate online classes in general. But good luck to you!

Wow you look so young, you don't even look 50, but good luck to you! Iam about to be 42 and i am contemplating getting my RN. I have 16 years of military experience in the medical industry, i have a BA in Sociology and a MS in Information Technology Management and feel like i wasted time going to school and not having a career that makes decent money, RN looks like the only thing promising not many layoffs, either, i wish i would have just gotten my RN instead of getting my Masters but its all good. I guess i will just be a professional student for life😂😂😂

Hello, I am a working on completing my pre-reqs and hope to earn a seat in a RN or Practical Nursing program in January 2022. I told my classmates in my English Zoom class that I am pre-Facebook/RUclips /Internet. Social Media did not exist or it was in its' infancy stage. LOL!! I am also on a health/weight loss journey. Hi thanks for reaching out and sharing. You are NOT too old. Watch this video I just linked. I'll say it's not the easiest because we tend to get in our own head and way but we can do all things through Christ. There is a nursing shortage so you have that on your side as well us old heads are more patient and we've seen so much done so much so who better to be nurses. We have juggled family, work, school life and worn so many hats through it all so please if you feel the desire shoot for the stars 💗

You’ve got this and the lights at the end of the tunnel. It’s been a while since I’ve made a video but I will do an update soon so please be patient with me and yourself 💜

You got this! Do what’s best for you but I have to tell you if I had it to do all over again 18 ++++++ yrs ago I would have gone for my RN and not my LPN. It’s a vast difference in pay, access to more jobs such as hospitals or just areas LPNs are not allowed which limits $ and growth. In the end it’s not about status or who’s better but what makes you more marketable and opens more doors for you to accomplish your purpose! Congrats to your niece on the NCLEX!!! 🎉🎉🎉!!! I pray that she prospers in every area of her life and may all that she thinks, does and say glorifies God and blesses others, amen! 🌹❤️

Hello congratulations on going back to school I know you’re going to do great even though I don’t know you lol!
We are almost in the same type of situation however, I do have all of my prerequisites done except for the sciences and I did leave those off on purpose I know they have an expiration date of five years so I said that I was going to tackle those this fall and hopefully after completion of those applying to a nursing school your deficit you feel is working computers and my deficit is math I’m terrified of the Hesi where I live we have to do that in order to even be considered for nursing school. Maybe we can keep in touch with each other via email or Instagram or even RUclips about each others journeys since all your classes are online I think mine will be as well I’m not sure yet but nevertheless good luck!
