- Lund Racing becomes the 1st to flash and tune a new 2020 Shelby GT500 and immediately throw it on their in house dyno. The numbers are quite impressive.We dyno the vehicle Stock, 93 tune, 93+octane booster, free flowing exhaust, filter off, and finally E85 and gain over 100 RWHP after it was all said and done. Enjoy.
I wasn't a mustang fan but these 2020 sure as hell put a smile on my face. Who ever has a nice paying job and could afford them i'm Happ for you 👍

Adding a pulley with E85 will get it up to around 930hp
I wanna see what it is capable of right now with these basic bolt-ons and tune with the factory pulley's ! 800+ whp with minor bolt ons , 112 hp gain for what 2000.00 in parts and tune ....just send it 1/4 mi times please .

I'm so glad you guys showed each run for each part changed , so we could see the difference keep up all the great work.. I'm in Md not much E85 around here in stick with 93 but I've been told if I switch the gains are huge, even on my little Roush blower car LOL.. LFTW!!!!
@4kgaming channel royal farm has it but there's not a closer one, I'm around 670whp, on 93, I don't drive the car much but when I do I don't want to search for fuel
@4kgaming channel Yeah - that's the only one that sells true E85 if I recall. Royal Farms has "E85" which varies in ethanol content.
Looking great Guys! Can't wait to see further development. Jr. tuned my 13 paxton mustang had to about 30k had to sell do to man cancer aka divorce but still keep in touch with owner. Car has 60k did oil pump and crank gears but has stock unopened motor runs in the mid 9's now on e85. My DD is tuned with Ecutek and have the best tuner on that platform but wished Lund tuned that platform but don't its JDM. Hands down the best tuning outfit when I had my mustang used 3 different tuners and have other cars as well and I'm proficient in tuning myself but LUND for the win, power, cutting edge features , and reliability! American owned company run with family and great bunch of staff!
I feel you brother. I got rid of that anchor around my neck last January. Gonna go Edelbrock 2650 on my '16 GT. In other words, I got rid of something that refused to suck and replaced it with something that positively blows!

800 WHP with just a tune.. The GT500 will hurt a lot of feelings at the track. Imagine when the aftermarket start making bolt on's for this car. Whipple is already making a 3.8L Super Charger...
@lund racing, the free flowing exhaust is that part of the Active Exhaust system or did you guys install a custom catless midpipe?

It's not just about displacement. It has a dohc vs a old pushrod and it's the direct vs port injection also.

It has a 2650 rotor pack, it doesn't need it. It will make over 1000 tire with the stock blower.

It’s not about “needing “ it it’s about being more efficient via lower iat temps ..... this is JOHN Lund ... knowing him he will probably get the NEW whipple 3.8 made just for the 2020 ...
And not that Lund needs a new whipple he most def will reach 1000 rwhp

Keeping the torque low.. smart. Without upgrading the clutch packs on the DCT, you’ll start to slip and eventually damage the trans. Curious to see who would be the first to address that limitation.
Bingbaso Maso Tremec rates the trans for 634 and ford conveniently comes in at 625. I’m willing to bet the trans it self will be the hard limitation before clutches. It’s already seeing around 2k ft lbs on the output shaft stock.
Steve Pounder engineering wise add 10 to15 % on top torque number that’s the safety factor most usually built in. But ford already knows all the failure points. When we built jet engines at Garrett air research inc. we tested to failure and at ( sensors on everything)130,000 plus rpm turbine blades started to fail.
Steve Pounder I get that part.. I mentioned clutch slip first. That goes for everything DCT trans in the market. They all start to slip when making big torque.. high HP BMWs, GT-R, Porsche, Huracan, etc.. all upgrade clutch packs. The GT500 won’t make much starting off to upgrade internal gear assembly. Will it happen, eventually. Better to fix the low hanging fruit in the form of the clutch packs.
The insides of these new Tremec DCTs are robust. With Tremec and its reputation of supplying big power trans in the OEM and aftermarket, and this DCT debuting in the Shelby and Corvette, I’m hoping this was built to handle what we all will do, add even more power! Here’s to Lund and the companies who get paid to push the envelope, actually pushing the envelope and doing what we want to do. Let’s see the drag strip results!

All those cars would generally have more shipping plastic etc... on them. At least everything did when I worked at the dealer until a couple years ago but they were shipping them across the country to us,.

Awesome power stock... heavy car but so far everything I've seen is how nimble it is... it moves... only concern is with increased power, will the transmission hold up? left to be seen... love the content... if this thing holds up... I may consider getting one...
If it's anything like the DCT in my 2016 Focus, then no, it won't hold up. I just got multiple transmission overheat warnings the other night while simply Ubering a passenger to the airport in bumper to bumper traffic.

Crazy, I saw a LS7 on mostly stock internals make same hp and only 40 less torque N/A. Surprised this car isn’t making more.

A heads cam ls7 will 550-600 depending on the cam specs
bryan bridges look at That Racing Channel and search for 800whp all motor Z06 8200 RPM... it’s not stock compression.

It's great they bought a white gt500 cause they are going to milk every drop of horsepower out of it... The DCT is where the action is on this car... When they crack the trans it will gap everything..
they’ll never have access to the transmission control module, he said it on a live video. Other tuners have been trying with the 2016 Ford GT and there is no way to get in there.

@@martinguajardo1189 they said the 10 speed was hard to tune not that they didnt have access. The Ford GT supercar has been out since 2016 and no one has been able to crack into the transmission module.
Look back at yolo’s videos he said there was NO access up until a few months later it was cracked and for the gt supercar there were how many produced? Prob not worth any tuners time
Martin Guajardo dude HP tuners had access to the software of the 10R80 since late November 2017. There is an article about it in there forum. They just had trouble tuning it because of the complexity of the transmission.

Is tuning one the gt500 platform as expensive as it gets with the c7zr1? I think the zr1 can get up in the $3k range because of added hardware and whatnot to use HP tuners. Just curious...
That’s crazy, probably a third of that at most. That’s one of the best benefits of Mustang modding, cheapest way to go fast!

You guys have balls man. Warranty is gone and what if you destroy transmission. Plus its already devalued now. But thats awesome power. I would never use any shit octane booster though. All of em leave mmt residue all over combustion chamber and spark plugs. And it wont come off unless you pull motor apart.

There's going to be 5000 of these 2020 GT500s made alone. Lund's a popular Mustang tuner I'm sure more than 60% will be tuned. A plug-in Tuner is roughly $600 they'll probably sell 600-800 units next year nets avg $460k.. they'll write the car off because it's a business expense. To hell with Ford's warranty
