Chris Stapleton is a generational artist. No matter if he chooses to perform an original or a cover he makes it his own and we are left in awe of the talent. Thank-you, Chris, never change, be yourself and we will be the beneficiary.
Have you heard the lead singer of Shinedown do his acoustic version? That will grab your attention real quick and leave you in chills and humming the song for the rest the day. That man is amazing as well... But Chris Stapleton is right there with him. They are both outstanding and know how to make you feel the music the way it was meant to be heard.
Absolutely the best cover of this song! This is the song I've been singing to my son since he was born. He's 33 now and I still sing it to him on his birthday.

This was absolutely incredible. This song has never hit the same without Ronnie behind the mic, but Chris sang one of the greatest songs ever with some extra soul that just pulls you in. There will never be another Ronnie Van Zant, but this was beautifully done.
God i hope so. I still listen to the greats. Marshal Tucker, Alaman Brothers, Blackfoot, Lynard Skynard, Doobie Bros, and many more. I've never understood how that genre could fade. I was seriously excited when I heard kid rock well until the hip hop crap he tried to blend in.
