Exactly, true engineers are those who have no access to resources and machines, while retarded rich kids play with the most expensive stuff on "elite" university, people all over the world show that there is no garbage, but only resources and make unbelievable things from it, that's why even garbage gets closed off from public, privatized like all other resources and human knowledge in form of patents. But it's senseless to complain about the consequences and symptoms, while ignoring the root of it, the root of all evil, the monetary system. Money wasn't invented in modern times by smart, social and competent economy experts, but in the golden age of charlatans by filthy thiefs to make theft easier and now this is what the whole world not just turns around, but die for, for theft, which is nowadays called profit. It is impossible to build an economy and have progress based on the monetary system, because work must be endless aslong our lifes aren't depending on the availability of the needed goods, on the production volume, but on money and so every little progress, every little rationality cost ten thousands of jobs, just imagine how many people would lose their jobs if there would be no wars, no military, imagine how many people would lose their jobs if the industry would produce things that last aslong as possible and are good to repair, that would be built in modules so it could be upgraded piece by piece instead of producing the whole product over and over again, like cars for example, imagine they would upgrade existing cars to electric drive until some serious the developments have been made, instead of producing new cars all the time because of a handful of LED's, and so on, most products don't need to be reproduced, atleast 75% of each product cannot break by itself, go through all products in your mind and you will see. The whole world has to live the greed of a couple hundred people worldwide and be zombified consumers instead of life worthy, intelligent and rational beings, instead of be humans.
@@Wilson84KS I did not read all of that. I will guess that "consumerism bad. 1% controls the world. We are zombies" is a part of it. i have talked to alot of people who say the same thing. Like conspiracy theorists, off-grid survivalists and anti-government semi-militarist idealists. And all i have to say is this: Present to me the alternative. I agree that the system we have is flawed. But the exchange of money for goods and services is effective. So show me your alternative. Put another way: Pubs are full of guys with a beer watching football. Or, American football with the retarded ball. They sit there, drinking beer, complaining that the teams on the screen are doing it wrong. But VERY few of them are presenting an option. It is mostly "score more goals!" "Defend better!" Show me the alternative. Because we somewhat agree.
That's why God invented fingers. Its true. Undeniable proof of an intelligent creator. Fingers are perfect for picking noses, cleaning ear canals, scratching butts and grabbing boobs. Oh, and Praise the Lord for boobs too.
@@SiGLoORiGiN If we have more people working on things like this, maybe in a few years everyone will have 2 thumbs per hand and 4 hands per person. I mean, it might get a little time to get used to the new thumbs and new hands, but the improvements in productivity would far outweigh the effort needed to learn to use them properly. Not only that, but nerves can also be entrained, which means that nerves can change their use, allowing people to learn how to use new body parts. People are already working on adding a literal third eye for blind people to see low-resolution black-and-white (and later grayscale) images with their forehead skin, which is easier because they send the signals to the nerves, but the research is also trying to find ways for them to move the camera like an iris, and to change the focal distance. My point is, science and biology allows it, technology is advanced enough to achieve it, but enough competent people and enough funds must be focused on solving those issues forever. And this kind of technology ties in well with Augmented Reality and Artificial Reality technologies, making it easier to get funds and popularity, with the right elevator pitch for investors and random people who might be interested.
I feel like this video is targeted at pretty much everyone, not just people with a hand disability. It tells you that it's possible to build your own prosthetic, but it also shows some basic knowledge of how to build anything. I'm actually blown away at how interesting it was to see this. Great work :)
I can imagine him wearing a glove in that hand literally all the time. And then, when somebody asks him why he wears it all the time, he just gets the glove off and shows the terminator hand.
I'm a mechanical engineer and I have to say this is extremely impressive, not only because he made them but the complexity of the engineering behind this is vast. I'm not sure I could do this.
Yeah man, hope one day real soon we can have the technology to give you a new hand then you can look like thanos😂but yeah you get what i mean hope you the best
There are a pile of options available depending upon your amount of missing parts. Look at e-nable, cyborg beast, or open bionics. There are several others that you'll find with just a quick Google search. Good luck finding something that will work for you.
Dude, I don't know who you are, where in the world you live, how you came to be 'disabled' or how you have the knowledge to build a robot hand. I'm just so glad that RUclips reccomended this video to me and wanted to say I think what you're doing is incredible and especially inspirational during these dark times we're living through at the moment. I wish you all the best for the future in perfecting your new hand and hope that it will allow not only you to live a long and healthy 'normal' life but help many other people who are afflicted with a similar condition or disability. You are amazing - keep up the good work.
I wouldn't think this guy is disabled at all. If anything, he's more able than when he had all of his real fingers. He's got 4 less fingers to smash with a hammer by accident. No more paper cuts for those fingers. No more of any of the BS the rest of us deal with when working with our hands. As a mechanic, I'm jealous.
@Cera Phimm You don't have to be born with a disability to be disabled... for example someone who is paralyzed from the waist down from a car accident is disabled because they need a wheel chair to move around.
Practical problems. Like how am I gonna craft some mean mother Hubbard 400ftlb grip for a prosthetic hand? The answer - use nano fiber and steel.. and if that don't work, more more steel...
2019: "Guys I made my own prosthetic hand" 2020: "This is how you lock individual fingers for more sophisticated manipulations" 2021: "And this button activates the plasma cannon"
I am incredibly amazed by this project!! As an electrical engineer and amateur machinist, I couldn't have more respect and admiration for this guy's creativity, and focus.
If he had two hands he probably wouldn't be working on this project. The irony is that handicap can actually be an advantage because it gives you a purpose.

Your attitude is exceptional, your workmanship is incredible, and your smarts are next level by no means are you an average bloke. I can’t offer much just want to let you know what your doing is inspiring a person that has all their limbs intact to do better because there’s people out there with a life much harder than mine doing far better. You are a legend mate.
The whole reason I'm becoming an engineer is to design prosthesis. I've seen your videos a couple times, and I'm not joking when I say they're inspirational. I hope this drives me to be a better student, so I can create prosthetics similar to this in the future.
This guy is smart af but there's a guy that has made a working light saber as well as several functional components of the iron man suit. Not saying one is better than the other but that there are a lot of smart mofos on this app

Your work is s goddamn breakthrough in prosthetics, I have yet to see other prosthetics move so naturally and seemingly "attached", this gave me heavy Cyberpunk vibes , and then you made it human by adding finger "sheaths", a brilliant engineer and bold in his endeavour, this really looks like work of the future, I wish you only the best! May your progress be swift and your path unhindered!
It's ironic that I found this video. Prosthetics have always been of interest to me simply because I like the idea of people being able to get back limbs and all even if they lose them. Issue is they're so expensive, I've been meaning to go to school and hopefully one day start working on making prosthetics as cheap and efficient as they can possibly be. Might be a far fetched goal but I think it's worth the effort. I love that you're helping people learn how to make their own, it's super cool to see you just casually building your own working fingers
it may seem like a far fetched goal, but if you look closely... more and more people show interest in this sort of thing(me included), im planning on making a full arm prosthetic and i came across this video which actually inspired me to keep working on my idea and make potential changes...
@@vash47 its still in extremely early stages, so roughly speaking, i just made the skeleton of the project and even thats not really final... and honestly, the closer i get to making the fingers the more difficult it will become
Just makes me really grateful that my all my bodyparts are still there. All the amazing engineering it takes to make an okayish hand replacement makes you realize how great our bodies are.
The coolest part isn't the arm itself, but how you managed to turn the loss of your fingers into a positive and fun project. I hope that it not only works out, but that it also helps others in the future. Thank you for your hard work! I wish you all the best!
I'm an orthopedic technician so i'm familiar with prosthetic limbs and I think your self-made 4-finger prosthesis is really cool and your ideas for improval aswell as your overall concept are pretty awesome.
It would make the more advanced prosthetics cheaper. As a high-end prosthetic this is basically a plaster version. I've seen a video of a man that had both his arms amputated at the shoulder when he was young and got a double arm prosthetics that he could control with his brain. I read an article about a man who had his right leg amputated at the knee and tested out an advanced prosthetics that enabled him to participate in a stair race in a skyscraper. There's also an Italian team working on a prosthetic that can feel what it's holding. Last I checked it had an 80% accuracy.
You’re not bound by some contract developing this for a huge company making money off you and keeping this a secret. You’re working this hard not only for yourself but for the people. You’re a great person with an amazing mind.

It is mostly "score more goals!" "Defend better!"
Show me the alternative. Because we somewhat agree.

@@SiGLoORiGiN gonna try playing the Wii without safety straps?

I really like thinking about how much this could effect the future of prosthetics
It would make the more advanced prosthetics cheaper. As a high-end prosthetic this is basically a plaster version. I read an article about a man who had his right leg amputated at the knee and tested out an advanced prosthetics that enabled him to participate in a stair race in a skyscraper.
There's also an Italian team working on a prosthetic that can feel what it's holding. Last I checked it had an 80% accuracy.
