I also noticed, at 3:16, that the tongue in the fake shoe is in two pieces: it's sewn together half way down, around the 4th eyelet. I couldn't see the tongue very well in the real shoes, but I think it looked like it was one piece. In my Doc boots, the tongue IS one piece all the way to where it is sewn to the side lace cages and the vamp top. Thank you Victor, good review. Hello from Arizona (I love England; worked there for about 4 years and enjoyed the hell outta myself! Would love to go back.)

I have a real pair of Dr from years ago that I bought in a proper shop. Recently I got a couple pairs from Vinted. The last pair that I got were clearly fakes- they were really badly made. Notably the yellow stitching was completely wrong. So I was looking at my other Doc and have now realised that an industrial pair of docs that I bought were fakes. But they were really well made- everything looked proper real (really good quality) apart from the yellow stitching and no brand name on the insole. So my point is that they are not all low quality- some are really good. It broke my heart when I found out! The key to knowing is the yellow stitching. If a stitch is wrong, it’s not a dr marten

I found that my pair only has one single stitching and the eyelets on the back are silver, but the other parts seem to be genuine like my other pairs. It's quite disappointing because they're not cheap. I hope these differences are simply due to variations in manufacturing…

Hi, I have docs dating back 22 years and I can tell you that everything that is being mentioned has truth to some NOT ALL docs. Not all docs have the double stitching at the top inside he alludes to. Docs are also made in different countries and THAT also creates differences that one single attribute can not be replicated and applied to each every shoe. I can go on all day, but yes there are also some decent fakes out there.

You should watch Rose Anvil the made in Britain ones are significantly better than Thailand or Vietnam version. He cuts them in half and does in depth reviews including things like abrasion testing on some items he test.
The quality of new docs is crap compared to what they used to be. He also recommended the other brand that looks almost identical to DR Martin I forget the name but they also do the Red ones that were synonymous with the 70’s punk movement in the UK. He also does a direct comparison with both cut in half. That’s it I remember now Solovair. But definitely recommend you watch his reviews before you buy your next pair

i have got a pair of fake docs last week as real ones are not available in India and I have seen multiple videos of how to spot, but mine are absolutely impeccable, has none of the fake traits I found on multiple videos, which leads me to believe that they might be factory rejects for some very very minor quality check issues, then again, upon multiple checks, I have not found any quality issues either. proper leather, proper logos, proper labelling.very strange, but a happy purchase.

Victor my motto is always buy from a reputable outlet, they would not be selling fake goods, I've got the black Dr Marten 1460 boots got them from a reputable company due to so many fakes going around

It can work both ways can't it? I bought both pairs on eBay. The used ones were worn once and legit for £100. The fake ones were sold as new also and the fakeness was difficult to spot. I did realise though so no worries. I've already been refunded. Victor...

How about them being offered for £20 on Facebook Marketplace. Yes, really. They must get loads of mugs on there.
But the colour's all wrong and the fakes look like they've been deflated, slightly.

I guess if you’re a teenager you get something that looks the same(within reason) for next to nothing and for £20 quid you can barely get a toddler’s pair of shoes. There’s always a market for stuff that from a distance looks similar enough. Some people are tight fisted and deluded. It’s exactly the same with Chibsons and people that buy a £120 Harley Benton that thinks it’s as good as a PRS USA or fender custom shop or Japanese 2k Ibanez or whatever. Yeah sure it is. Keep smokin 🤣

@@MrSongwriter2 I had 1 Chibson in ever. The guy bought it in and spent over £300 on it and it was still w@nk [IMO] when he fetched it! :P

Exactly Chibsons are utter wank. But people still buy them 🤦🏼‍♂️

    •  2 года назад

@@MrSongwriter2 Not really. Anyone who believes a £200 Harley Benton is as god as a £2k PRS would be deluded, but I don't think most do.
Harley Bentons are built to a budget and sold on that basis. There is after sales care and you can get a refund.
Chibsons are made to the lowest possible budget and sold as high as they can get for them. There's little or no after care and it can be take a Herculean effort to get a refund if you're not satisfied.
For the same or less money, Harley Bentons offer far better value. Some of them - not all, by any stretch of the imagination - are pretty good, while most are unremarkable. The rest will be those that should have failed the QC.
