"Words," "Jive Talking," "Massachusetts." They wrote all their songs, over 1,000 all up, many hits for others as well. After you finish with this lengthy rabbit hole, the Rightous brothers, Bobby Hatfield, solo on "Unchained Melody," from '65 and both guys singing, "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" from Australia, John Farnham, "You're the Voice." Jimmy Barnes, "Saturday Night." With the band Cold Chisel.

The Gibbs (and especially Barry) are pretty much musical geniuses, able to reinvent themselves for different decades, custom write for others or movies. I think you would really enjoy TOO MUCH HEAVEN from 1978/9, TO LOVE SOMEBODY from 1967 (probably their most covered song), and YOU WIN AGAIN from 1987 (they made the stomp track stomping on things they found laying around in Maurice’s garage). Barry put out a #2 solo album called IN THE NOW in 2016, and in 2021, a #1 album of some of their classics called Greenfields, which was produced in Nashville and mostly duets with Country artists, Please do keep the Bee Gees reactions coming!

Also performing in Greenfields was Barry's son and Maurice's daughter. They all toured together.

    • @dp3396
      @dp3396 2 года назад +1

I think it was Barry’s Mythology tour that included Samantha. There was no Greenfields tour because of Covid, and I don’t think Samantha was involved in the Greenfields album. Barry’s oldest son, Stephen, started playing with Barry’s band at least as far back as the Vegas One Night Only, was definitely on the Mythology tour, and he and Ashley (2nd oldest of Barry’s 5 children) both worked with Barry on songwriting for the 2016 album In The Now. Samantha spearheaded getting the Gibb cousins together under the name Gibb Collective for an album of covers of the fathers’ songs, but with updated sounds. Many of the next generation of Gibbs are musically talented.

Too bad you did not watch the music video; you missed they eye-candy of gorgeous, prime, Barry Gibb looking his best, LOL. Also if you would have watched the video, you would have seen that Barry and Robin sing the verses in unison and on the chorus, Maurice joins them with the lowest voice in the harmonies. The BeeGees were: Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin'. From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ruclips.net/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/видео.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ruclips.net/video/CA4CInDnTk8/видео.html.

Yes Great Reaction Video, and you are all very Astute!
They were actually 4 brothers , the youngest was a solo act( with his own band ) but did do a few appearances with his older brothers, he died of suicide at the age of 30. His voice was similar to Barry’s! I have seen interviews of Barry as his brothers died and he will be hurting til the day he dies! Brings a tear to my eye, I saw them live 3 or 4 times and they were unbelievable live! They wrote so many hits for other stars of the time!
Barry has done at least one show with Brother Robyn’s daughter singing with him/ very emotional !

Thank you for introducing Bee Gees music to Chinese audience, especially the younger generation. They have far too many beautiful songs for every mood and feel. Many who commented here have suggested reacting to Too Much Heaven by them too, but there is really a long list such as Staying Alive, Massachusetts, I started a joke, you win again, etc, and songs they wrote for other artistes such as Barbra Streisand (woman in love, guilty), dion Warwick (heartbreaker), samantha sang (emotions), Diana Ross (chain reaction), Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton (islands in the dreams)…..

So, they prove no matter a person's skin color, it comes from within one's soul. You've got to appreciate their mark on the World their music left. No matter the skin color of listeners of their music, their music goes past color. Exhibit A.

I'm from the U.S. and just subscribed to your channel. Watched you guys reaction to the Bee Gees (How Deep is your Love). They have written two to three hundred songs for other great artist's during their career. I request you watch their official video of (TOO MUCH HEAVEN and STAYIN ALIVE). The songs along does not do them justice. I know hundreds of songs and groups from the 60's thru the 80's that I believe your audience would truly love that are truly (DOPE) meaning great songs.
There were great talented groups of the past that everyone should be introduced to during their musical journey.
I would like to pass on, some of my selections to you guys periodically if allowable. I would also like to commend you guys on your due diligence on artist and groups prior to posting songs or videos. when the Bee Gees dominated the US charts between 1975/1979,
in Europe the Swedish group ABBA dominated at the same time
just as the Bee Gees is characterized by the vocal harmonies of the three brothers,
ABBA stands out for the vocal harmonies of its two female singers, accompanied by their musician and composer husbands.
ABBA recorded between 1972/1982 and has more than 20 worldwide hits
I would like to suggest that you do a reaction to his biggest hit: "Dancing Queen" (1976), his only #1 in the US
ABBA last year returned after almost 40 years with a new album that is a worldwide success
    My best regards from
    Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Speaking of Summer Breeze, that's the title to another great song by Seals and Crofts from this same era. Its another iconic feel good song from the 70s. It literally feels like a summer breeze.

You should really REALLY react to these Bee Gees songs:
    Party with no name
    Walking on air (Maurice lead)
    Dimensions
    On time (Maurice lead)
Don't fall in love with me
    Above and beyond (Maurice lead)
    I will
    Country woman (Maurice lead)
    Flesh and blood
Man in the midle (Maurice lead)
    Cryin' every day
    Omega man (Maurice lead)
The lord (Maurice & Barry lead)
    Irresistible force
    House of shame (Maurice lead)
    I.O.I.O. (Maurice & Barry lead)
    She keeps on coming
Hold her in your hands (Maurice lead)
    With my eyes closed
Lay it on me (Maurice lead)
    Voice in the wilderness
    Overnight (Maurice lead)
    Will you ever let me
    Closer than close (Maurice lead)
    Giving up the ghost
    Lonely winter (Maurice lead)
    Whish you were here
Don't forget to remember (Maurice & Barry lead)
    Ordinary lives

Might I suggest listening to Journey. If you do make sure it's Steve Perry singing lead. I like Styx and Foreigner. And if course Pinnk Floyd. If you do them I'd do the album version of Comfortable Numb. Then do the version from the Pulse Concert from 1994. Hint on the concert have a good size screen so you won't miss the visual parts. Also don't stop when David Gilmour is playing a solo. There are two.

Actually there were 4 brothers but the youngest, Andy Gibb, was too young to be part of the Bee Gees. He had a solo career & did very well, at the height of his popularity he died from a drug overdose in 1988, he was only 30. You're right about Barry being the only brother that's still alive, he's 76.

Black, Black, Black, Black, Black, people created everything. Who introduced the drums into Western popular music? Black Americans. The beat, the rhythm, rock, soul, roll, funk, the importance of the bass, the blues, jazz, hip hop, disco, rap scratching, screaming, sounds like out of tune down and dirty, sweet harmonies, makes you tap your feet, move your boe-dy, guitar solos - the whole book was created, formed, and developed by Black Americans. Without Black Americans Americans would still be playing polkas, waltzes, and English and German folk tunes. The whole of East Asia would still be listening to opera duets and two-stringed guitar tunes. Without Black American music there would be no Bee Gees, there would be nothing. Nothing. Thank you Black Americans, you have created the most amazing music in the world and mostly earned very little from it while the white people stole it made riches and then said it was theirs. And you know, Black people are still doing all the creating. No other mofos in the world have created or added anything to what they have made. Non-Black artists can be cool and funky but they are basically speaking in a second language, in a language that is not their native language. No matter how good they get they are still speaking in a foreign language. Remember, when drinking the water to always remember the source.
