After letting my now 8yr old son pretty much race what we had (and watching him win) we moved up a class and he was getting his teeth kicked in. It became my turn to go to school and give him more. I cannot express to you how much your videos help. All of this is completely new to me, and it may take a few attempts with some rewinding, but I learn more than I could ever imagine. Thank you so so so much!
Thanks for posting this, with the complexities of cart clutch setups, my OEM one was toast on the showroom floor, I bought a 40$ ebay CVT with good results but still wonder if im loosing measurable power.
Centrifugal. As they spin levers are activated to put pressure on the pressure plate which creates contact between floaters and friction discs. Springs regulate the amount of speed in which the levers activate the pressure plate.
@@kart6t3_ben wasn't sure lol, bet these bite a heck of a lot better than the bell type. Ive been considering if i should go with one of these for the golfcart conversion i got going. I got a 301 predator on it and it maxes out at around 25 which is fine but the 30 series belts just get blown off it lol. ive had issues with this sort if belt setup with the gocart i built and i cant even get that engine past 4200 with out smoking the belt lol.
As always great content. Much appreciated. Kinda off topic but where would I be able to find the wedge body kit? Does a certain company sell them or do I have to fabricate my own side panels? Thanks again 👍
Thank You. There are a couple. Seay Hiperformance is one (a bit more expensive but quality) Fusion Composites (Tredway) real decent fiberglass ones. Those are a couple. or yes you can build your own. I use to make mine out of coroplast (sign board) 6mm thick style and some rivets and alumn angle iron. It can be done but buying them is way less aggravating. Lol.
Kart6t3_Ben I'm a girl and im new to racing me and my dad are having a problem, our chain keeps jumping off the gear but we are perfectly allind I was wondering if you would know whats wrong?
Sometimes those can be tough to track down. I have a video on chin tension and putting on a chain. Maybe some points in there that may help? I have had just bad rear gears too, sometimes getting a fresh chain and rear gear help out.
@@catlover6584 sorry I can’t be much more help then just guessing. They are hard enough to fix right in front of me let alone through a message. My next guess would be axle out of line or moved in the carrier bolt holes. If u find the problem please let me know. People may read these comments and it could help someone else.
Ben, these videos are awesome. Out of racing 20 years, now back in and lots of things have changed. Many thanks!
Your very welcome. And thank u for watching.

Definitely a place where that can happen. To much slip or engaged to low and it will cost speed.
Great video Ben
Thank you!
Thanks really helped. Love to no about different springs used on bully compared to vortex tipe clutch. Setting differences for springs.
Yes black purple red. All different engagements and pressures.
Glad u r doing this buddy
Thank You
Hell yeah I finally know how these 3or$400 clutches work. It's hard to find a video on them
Been on a LAUKATIS Gator for years now. Maintenance is easy and work well.
Didn't go through the video but I'm wondering if these work like the normal centrifugal clutches or are the more like a cars clutch?

Who you recommend to build a three disc clutch for a mini bike
Idk if there are specific engagements you need for that. But someplace like Martin Built clutches would be somewhere to check.
@kart6t3_ben ok thanks im about to look now
Is it worth it to wet sand those used friction discs on a granite stone?
Maybe? I’d just be concerned about thickness and air gap.
where do you buy thr discs
Laukatis Racing. “Gator” clutch
@@kart6t3_ben will it fit on a 3 disc bully?
@@martin_gets_sidewayz yes. I’ve put them in a bully before. S
Ben very good if your going to be racing you should now how to work on it most dont
