The changes make hero models matter more than ever; as an AD spammer I honestly hate how luck-heavy it is now. They need to add a hero model drafting phase.

@@geoDB. Facets is actually great idea but it isn't applied well. Most of facets are hard-to-understand, a lot of them useless and doesn't make change as intended. I think facets should either change role of the hero or cover various weaknesses of the hero. Currently very little number of facets is doing this, rest of it don't do that.

I don't think Facets should help alleviate hero weakness, because then you end up with a facet that is clearly superior to the other(s) or one of the other facets is so strong that it completely nullifies whatever weakness you would be compensating for. There are already a handful of facets that are useless.
I think Facets should change the play style of the hero, or should be situationally good depending on what is drafted - but not because of some inherit weakness. Prime example is Dragon Knight. I think being able to pick each of the forms as DK is a great idea and each form lends itself better to a different play style depending on what the team needs. The numbers might need to be tweaked to balance it, but that's a great concept and it doesn't really negate DK's weaknesses.
The other example I can think of is Tree. One of his facets is simply you get +5 base attack damage per level. Since tree isn't really played as a right-clicker and is mostly a 5, this kinda sucks. So, you are pretty much forced to go the other facet which is also mediocre at best.

I don't mean that it should cover all weaknesses of a hero. I mean that it should cover one weakness while nerfing hero from somewhere else which can help in unbalanced matchup especially in midlane. It will nerf counterpicking.

This sentence comes to the same point as what I said. Without facet, heroes countered by easily because heroes has played with one while there are tens of ways to counter heroes or sometimes there is no way to counter heroes. Facet will give variety to counter different strategies.

That is just what I said. Some facets are useless, should never been picked and some facets doesn't change much like Ursa's facets for instance.

I think it's going to be too strong imo. A long range point-click ability that can be used to safely displace an enemy. At least Batrider has to put himself in danger to abduct someone, but this is incredibly safe with an aether lens from fog.
@@SadFace201 there are the two major weaknesses, however, of a. disappearing into the aether if the unit so much as get clipped by any aoe damage, even something like radiance, and b. their support can just a-click on 'em to take it themselves, without even necessarily putting themselves into danger if it's like a warlock doing it from the backlines
the first can be minimized by proper coordination on the part of bane's team, of course, but that comes with the caveat that the enemy team will be similarly coordinated most of the time, so there's some major reliability issues when compared to lasso. certainly still makes it even scarier to be caught alone when there's a bane on the other team, tho

@@SadFace201 definitely, although one detail i hadn't thought up came up in another vid i watched and that's the fact that the nightmared hero doesn't even need help from an ally if they're something like a tb or beastmaster, since _any_ player-controlled unit can be used to a-click a nightmared unit. incidentally, that means a meta illusion or boar can still save an ally from afar, even if the enemy draft is otherwise melee-only
it's interesting and kinda funny to think about, but speculating on how powerful this facet is feels like it's probably just retreading old ground the deeper you get into it. nightmare is, after all, a long-as-hell point-and-click _stun_ with no projectile and a pretty normal cast time and range, which for a long while now has also allowed bane to just whale on the target with complete freedom. it's a pretty ridiculous ability, even by dota standards, yet for as powerful as it is in both theory and execution, it always seems to plummet in effectiveness far more dramatically than other stuns as a game progresses, don't it? because all that power is balanced out by just how volatile it is, and as more and more heroes get involved in a nightmare interaction and fights get more and more chaotic, that volatility starts becoming a major weakness and less of a controllable factor
so nightmare is undoubtably an obviously powerful ability, and this facet is undoubtably an obviously powerful option. but i get the feeling that it won't end up as ridiculous as it seems on paper, for the exact reasons the ability it's attached to isn't as ridiculous as it seems on paper. hell, it might turn out to genuinely make an already volatile ability even more volatile, because stuff like the classic and ever-reliable nightmare into mirana arrow combo? yeah, unless bane makes the target move at an angle that's exactly towards or exactly away from where mirana's firing from, just having the facet picked introduces a facet ( heh ) of having to aim a slow-moving projectile at a slow-moving target from a pretty far distance. and while that's significantly easier than a target moving at normal speeds and with full control over where they go, it's still a _major_ increase in variability over just clicking the arrow directly on the statically nightmared unit. even if the angles _are_ lined up so that aiming isn't relevant ... there's also just the added possibility that the nightmared hero walks through a nearby creep, which then eats the arrow in their place
it really is a wildly nuanced ability. makes me wonder if a pro or one-trick has ever written a several-page-long treatise on it, because it feels like the sorta thing that'd garner that

You can put neutral items into the backpack slots too for techies!
if you look at Bane's Sleepwalk/Nightmare, the original Atropos can be seen as the shadow.

I think cool think about techies spoon stash is you can put lower tier neutral in backpack and it still count, so 6 basic item and 4 neutral, obv. the dream is 9 late game item

I think Valve and friends have been playing a lot of Overthrow 3.0 in the custom games because there's a lot of similarities in terms of how insane the power levels are now.

Everything can get duel damage with the other facet, I've already seen plague wards, creep, and best of all.......towers gain duel damage. Not like the towers matter, they don't attack enemies that dive you, only theirs attack you when you dive them.
NP is still good with the treant. The dmg scaling pits his dmg at 120% base dmg at lvl 25 with the 3x treant talent and 2 summoned. We lost every lane and still won because of it. If you already checked it out my b.
This patch is SO FUN. Easy comebacks, increase in number of fights since those innate talents mostly involved or activate during fighting
FV and LC got the biggest buffs on paper, but if you saw yesterday's match, PB can dish out some serious damage

Tec can use multiples neutral itens from backpack.
Every single Innate, Facet addition to the game i see in these videos make me say "WTF" in different intonations, length and emotions.

But his sprout damage is garbage though. They nerfed him too much. Also TP now have no bonus damage but a 300 shield which is also garbage.

I hate the new scoreboard, takes up half the screen! And for what!? All the buttons and pfps and kda numbers are still in the old size making them even more hard to see now that theyre needlessly spread out and look shrunk compared to the spaces they occupy.

It's the old blur where you can kill creeps and not break blur, that is not a built in interaction anymore. Hero distance always break it
