Awesome mention to the 1953 Sad Story of Henry!
Well to make things clear.. us Thomas fans don't really know much about the pilot ourselves but as far as we know (Not just fans but really in genral)
The Pilot kinda went to hell.. With Henry derailing and The Rev. W. Awdry just being left entirely disappointed
And the BBC sorta confirmed no copies exist and all we have is a single (Low quality & Black and White) picture of James.
And not to nitpick, but the Models shown at 2:07-2:23 are not his work, they are fan made.
Again just a Thomas fan stopping by! Thank you for this wonderful content ^^

Back in about 2008 I was on a tour of the BBC London studios. One of the rooms I was shown was a store room of puppets, and indeed, very clearly, Badger was there. I’m guessing there were several Badgers. Also the Psammead was there, Gordon the Gopher was on display in a corridor. So was a Davros head. I wasn’t supposed to but I secretly touched Badger. In a respectful way of course.

Such a wonderful video! One lost UK kids show I can think of is Smith and Goody. It was shown on ITV back in 1980, starring Mel Smith and Bob Goody and had one series with a total of 7 episodes (one of them was a special called "Smith and Goody On Ice"). There is a bit of footage as well as some general information about it out there, but unfortunately no full episodes are available anywhere. It's been lost for quite a while now. Would love it if it gets found one day...

One show i remember was the lampees. a cartoon about little imps that operated (and lived in) Street lamps, which was aired by the bbc about 1997-ish. Idk if its considered lost. But certainly I've never heard anyone talk about it. Which is a shame, as I remember it being a really imaginative, and fun show. I even saw a stage adaption of it as a kid.

I'm fairly certain that we get a lot of BBC Children's shows, often on Treehouse TV. For example, Teletubbies was British on that channel, when it aired on PBS, it was Americanized. As was Boobah, I think.
I also remember watching Paddington Bear on CBC when I was a child.

Chuckle Brothers Live And In Trouble, I saw this live show at a theatre in 2000 and it contained a lot more material than in the version I've seen recorded and uploaded to RUclips. I struggle to remember it all, but I do remember that they performed The Chicken Song from the Spitting Image TV show, and got the audience to stand up and perform actions to it. In another scene, they get a trial for a football club and perform slow motion action replays of their goals. There was also a scene where they got a job in a custard pie factory. An up and coming girl group also did some pop performances between the scenes.

Actually fun fact, my close friend (formerly my boyfriend) allegedly owns the lost Thomas & Friends 1983 Down the Mine pilot. He's shown multiple people in his close circle of friends who can confirm it's real, and he'd flown out somewhere to meet friends, presumably to also work on restoring the pilot. He hasn't release it because it's damaged, and he's not going to leak any of it until it's done because he doesn't want to drum up hype. According to him, it's really nothing special apart from the differences in the models. (After all, it was officially readapted as the 25th episode and reused some footage). Personally though, judging by how the fandom has treated him and how much they've hounded him over it (to the point he quit twitter), I doubt we even deserve to see it.

There is a show I have recently rediscovered thanks to my boyfriend (we are both British, we were both alive when this aired, but we never watched it until later). This show was called Blips, airing in 2005. The show was made by Ragdoll Productions, directed by Anne Wood, the creator of the Teletubbies. It starred Robin Stevens as Mr Perfect (known as playing Grandpappa in Boohbah, also an Anne Wood production) and narrated by Patricia Routledge. The premise was Mr Perfect in different job roles. The first part was a perfect construction of a part of the job being shown, such as building a wall for a builder, then time would reset and purple blobs called Blips would create chaos and sabotage Mr Perfect's job, though he never saw them. Sadly, despite 26 episodes were created, only 3 are available on RUclips: "Builder", "Ice Cream Man" and "Movie Star". Blips never got a home release.

As a Brit myself, I grew up in the early-mid 2000s to early 2010s. I remember jungle run vividly as one of my favourite shows, I used to fake being sick just to catch an episode as I wished I was on it. Chuckle vision is a show I was introduced to by my dad and cousins as my cousins are a few years older than me and my dad is a huge fan of slapstick comedy and he was heartbroken with the news of one half of them dying, he died without knowing the true meaning for BBC scrapping his show. I also know Paul is in the show Not Going Out as Lee’s dad and he does a tremendous job and occasionally references the chuckle brothers.
One bit of lost media I will add to your collection is Sarah Jane Adventures, I grew up a huge fan and it’s why I’m so into doctor who lore today, but during the last series we obviously know Sarah passed away but the series hadn’t fully aired and plans for the new series to get filmed was actually in the works. I may add I’ve seen some articles online discussing unfilmed episodes and some unaired. Another thing for Sarah Jane was the soundtrack; it was actually supposed to be physically available but because of her passing it was scrapped, possibly due to some of the music being linked to unaired episodes

    • @ECLyrical

Fantastic video! I’ll give my thoughts on each bit, then some suggestions.
The derailing railway on live TV sounds hilarious. I’d love to see it if it even still exists.
The Raggy Dolls looks pretty cute. Love Claude and the kangaroo toy.
Glad to meet another lifelong Wallace and Gromit fan.
Not really a fan of that badger, I prefer Sooty and Nev the Bear.
I always preferred Raven and Trapped to Jungle Run, but I appreciate the production design and variety of challenges.
I actually have seen the Chuckle Brothers live; they were in an Aladdin pantomime. I distinctly recall something going wrong when the baddie was shouting at the brothers, as well as the cucumber gag.
    As for the suggestions;
The Backyardigans had a UK dub which is now mostly lost, a shame since I vastly prefer the British voices to the horrible American ones (same with Lazytown).
I’ve already mentioned Trapped and Raven, but another CBBC gameshow I enjoyed was Mission 2110. It’s lost with some found bits, and some reused robots in DW.
Hope you appreciate this review and I’m loving your content.

I did see Doctor What back in the day. I can tell you how the scene with the Garlic went. But before I do...
I don't recall too much sadly, I also saw Barry Potty but I can barely recall most of it. All I can really recall is a scene in which they were re enacting the flying car scene, but the whole stage was dark except for glowing pop up images. I recall Spongebob and Patrick actually showing up briefly during this. It was a weird scene and felt very non sequitur if I can recall...which isn't much.
However, I do recall the Garlic scene from Doctor What quite vividly, while I can't remember much else about it, I do remember how the Garlic scene went...
It starts off relatively calm with the two Brothers on stage, but when suddenly the Garlic shows up, and it gets quite intense and dramatic for a moment, with the Brothers trying to fight it...but then I recall the Crazy Frog version of Axel F playing, and the Garlic then gets taken off stage (the threat being pacified), with Barry then miming the Crazy Frog's noses before the scene ended.
Hope this helps. I recall people being quite disappointed the Garlic only showed up for that brief time. The stage shows were very fun though, especially the River Rother, which had a boulder get thrown onto the audience and they had to carry it around.
And without giving my location away, this was at the Wycombe Swan in Buckinghamshire.

Wow Garlic Wow, seeing the chuckle brothers in action is still an incredible memory! Appreciate you sharing! Definitely didn't know about that scene with Barry Potty 😂 amusing to think of a SpongeBob crossover!
The Garlic scene I wanna know now! was it in the first or second act? was it on the alien planet? or somewhere else? & was it just a Dalek prop? if so, what kind of model or did they actually build an original prop for the Garlic for the production?
That's one hell of an original way to get rid of a Dalek-like creature though! via the meme of Crazy Frog 🤣 I think I would run away from that as well!

    • @unitkilla5967
      @unitkilla5967 2 года назад

There's another piece I personally want found:
In 2015 I think, the show Tree Fu Tom got its own live stage show. It's nothing exactly fancy, but personally, I just want it found for 1 reason: a certain song. I don't know the name, but it sounds like Country music.
The plot really is nothing special: the main character group of the show (consisting of Tom, a human boy who's turned into a superhero to protect the tiny world of Treetopolis, Zigzoo, an amphibious inventor who isn't a mad scientist, but can be shown to be rather scatterbrained at times (but not in a forgetful way), Ariela, a cowgirl butterfly who's interestingly the only character to have an American voice in both the UK & American dubs who runs her own ranch, Squirmtum, a beetle of some sort that mines sap from the tree that Treetopolis is located (that powers a lot of technology in Treetopolis) and as you may guess, is rather a scaredy-bug, and Twigs, a silly sprite who's Tom's best friend, as they all go hunt for treasure after discovering and identifying a treasure map, but it's also a race against time as the Mushas (the primary antagonist but sometimes ally) are also on the hunt.
Also, it's a musical, but I can't entirely understand what most of the songs contribute to the plot, except one introducing the main crew of the show and another where they sing about their new treasure map. A sizzle reel exists on RUclips (as well as some other clips, one even being a song), but other than those ones, nothing else exists online

Here's one for volume 2. BBC's Agent Z and the Penguin from Mars (1996) that starred a young Reggie Yates. Very few people even remember it. There used to be episodes on RUclips but they appear to have vanished now.

There’s a more recent show that has become lost media, strange hill high! This show is honestly gold but now there is nowhere to watch it other than RUclips reuploads. I’m not sure why it was removed from bbc and prime, maybe because everyone who remembers the show was terrified of it

I was on a show called Ross Lee's Ghoulies on Nickelodeon! It aired around 2008/9 and is mostly considered lost. I have the episode I was on if it's of any interest! 😊

I've been searching for a show I watched years ago. Not sure if its Lost Media though. Don't remember too much about it but here's what I have so far.
It was centered around a bunch of kids (possibly teenagers)
They wind up inside a video game and either have to play through to escape or they're looking for someone else who got trapped in the game.
It was a mix of live action and animation, switching to animation when they were in the game
The animation style was similar to, but not the same as, Reboot
There was a Dungeonmaster type character that was helping them, he was just a floating head (I vaguely recall him wearing glasses but I'm not sure)
At some point, they have to go to Level Zero in order to progress
The only line of dialogue I remember is a joke the floating head tells at one point. Something about the smelliest sound is "dung" (get it? Coz dung sounds like dong? I know its an awful joke but that's all I can remember about the joke)
I think I watched it sometime around the late 90s, early 2000s but it may have been older.
    Sorry, that's all I remember 😔

there's a lot of UK shows I grew up watching on a UK channel (I'm American) and also because my mom was fan of British stuff so she'd buy old British movies and such.
I remember some of these clearly and then some of these were very vaguely familiar...and then some I've never seen as far as I remember...
