    THANK YOU @JeffMcErlain for this one!! It really helped to get a better understanding of how to get so many tones out of my Germino 100w. Same with your “Dialing in a Les Paul” 😊

    I think people who say they hate the sound of a Marshall, have never heard a live one dialed in properly and don't realize what Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Page, etc were playing through. If they don't like any of those sounds then they just don't like rock & roll.

    I have a 78' LP custom and a Tokai 59' type LP with urethane finish. The Tokai has become my #1 and I honestly don't hear the difference between finishes. The Tokai resonates beautifully just as the 78' if not more so and is lighter weight. I still get this nagging in the back of my head about finishes though and my next guitar, a Tokai SG, a notch above the LP I bought last year, has a nitro finish. I wish I didn't even know there were different finishes. Ignorance is bliss.

    Awesome video. Lots of fun, and your experience shows.
    I gotta say, though...I have played some nice amps loud. With plugs. And to me...modeling with good monitoring still sounds and feels better than an amp with plugs.

      Thanks! I think it depends on the kind of gig. But I definitely see your point, it always come down monitoring and the mix.

    It sounds like EC. You would need the 60's board Decca's transformers and 2" tape to get everything. Not even current EC can do that.

    Great video, Jeff. I run my 50w Plexi into my Fryette PS100 and then either into a cab attenuated, or via the line out into my interface (and then out of studio monitors in the room). In my opinion, lower volume overdriven tones always sound better through monitors, rather than trying to get a cab sound good at home volumes. For higher volumes, the cabs sound incredible, but not ideal for home playing! The Fryette does indeed take 200w, so no issues there. It's the same reactive load in both the 50 and 100, it's just the output power that's different.

      Thanks and I agree with your statements on the gain through the monitors for sure. Got the power station and it's excellent. I thought about the 100 but saw this a good used price, and also, I can't use a 100 watt amp anywhere! But i'm sure I shoulda gotten the 100.. cuz... you know. Gear...

      @@JeffMcErlain 🤣 yeh, there weren't any used options where I live, so got the 100 as it's only a little more new. Definitely not something I 'need'

    Hi Jeff! I missed the live transmission 😢! … it is quiet good information thanks! … I do have a 1959HW Plexi very new one, when I play my LP’s neck pickup a ghost note appears, mainly at 5 and above in treble channel, is possible to get rid of it?

    Very glad to have you back! Is that the only Les Paul (I know - only) you have now? Assuming it's an R9?

    Great video Jeff!
    I don't get why guitar players get all the flack for volume. My hearing has been runied by the snare drum and cymbals, not my or anybody else's guitar.

    Makes sense - I listened to so many players put a strat into a 100w and it just sounded so horrible - I can’t describe that it was like a really LOUD clean ear melter… god awful..those 100w were so loud…

    Are you going through monitors then?

  • @sidewaysrain7609
    @sidewaysrain7609 2 месяца назад

    There's no question but that is close to Clapton's early tones. Anyone anyone who thinks otherwise needs to clean out their ears!
    Bonamassa does it with a Tweed!!!
