Ran across a shelf full of the Old Forester single barrel Rye this summer in a grocery store for $79 🫣 , should have bought all of them 😕 . Lucky to even see one in michigan .Cheers 🥃 you got some good ones 😉
Just scored a RR15 today at a local raffle but had to buy it bundled. It was bundled with JB Honey and Praline Cream liqueur all for the price of 300. I’m satisfied with that
Couldn't find any of those, but the standard 1783 in 1.75L is $30, so got that. Heard it's supposed to be ~8yrs, but tastes very close to the white label & that is 100P & cpl $ less. Maybe the American Hero bottle with the Vet picks is different.
Good jog on the Doc Swinson's Garryana oak. Even though I live really close to Bellingham, this is a difficult bottle to find, even around here. What was batch? 24-0002?
Patrick you should go to Molly's Spirits off Araphoe n I-25 they just released a Russels Reserve Single Barrel store pick Camp Nelson F floor 4 9 years. Freaking amazing it's $84 I got mine two weeks back also got a EC 94 proof there at Molly's freaking good too 9 years aged it was $39🥃👍🏻
I will have to see if I can get out there. Leaving town in the next few days. My bank balance is fairly beat too. As you will see next week with my Kentucky haul.
I would say it probably isnt worth it for the price. It can be very craft funky. Depends on the one you get but more missers than hitter in my humble opinion. Go with Laws Whiskey instead or Boulder spirits.
You said, 1792 is your fav 12yr, or close to it. So is it better than Knob Creek 12yr? They are usually with $10 of each other. Heard many reviews say it is great & beat EW 12yr, though that nutty note is still there even on the 15yr & I don't care for that.
@@motohead077 I feel that the 1792 is better than knob creek. Its a little sweater and not as spicey. Although later my palate is expanding to appreciating more spicey/Rye forward whiskey 1792 aged 12 years is elite.
Unfortunately, the 2023 George T Stagg is shit whiskey. Biggest waste of money I've ever spent. But, I think most people would be tempted to spending the money based on reputation. It's usually very good and in most years you'd be coming out ahead.
Nice trade, but you did lose on the GTS trade. GTS 2023 is not as good as most Stagg Jr batches. It's got some heat but the flavors are lacking, IMO. Compared to most it is dominated by a harsher note and more bitter oak than usual for a Stagg product. Just doesn't live up to the BTAC lineup, IMO. You probably won out on secondary value, slightly, but if you held for another year or two you probably lost value on that trade (even with 107 dropping like a rock)

Impressive haul Patrick and it's always fun to see your videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the comment and feedback.
Great bottle haul congrats!! I'm still on the hunt for RR15 at MSRP. Alway's looking for the GTS!
I would love a back up of that 15. Its very good.
You did well!

Nice pick up on that bad boy!
Best haul of the year until that Kentucky haul huh? Congrats on that gts. I think you won that trade.

That's fair saying that the msrp is about $275. Congrats
Like you, love the Doc Swinson bottles.
@@Nole1992 doc swinsons know their shize!

@@ehtater I've seen it in a few states.
Had the 1783 hero edition 2023 not the 2024 , pretty good for the price 👍

Very happy I was able to find this release of it. I know they did another run but this was the o.g. That price was perfect too.
🥃👍

Any thoughts on 291? I've been curious about them for a while since I saw some options in CO and can't get it here in VA

I did not like the Bards BiB. I prefer 1792 BiB, Heaven Hill, EH Taylor SmB (around msrp), and Early Times BiB over Bardstown
Also great recommendations thanks for sharing.

Nah, GTS 2023 is a perfect whiskey
I have enough stagg junior but only 1 GTS. Thanks for the information on it.

2023 GTS may be the best ever. There is no stagg jr that could compare to it. RR 15 approaches it , but not quite as good.
I am going to crack it and go from there. I have only had one gts before but a good amount of stagg jnr. Time will tell I guess.
why would you collect whiskey?? sounds like a white priv kind of thing
