If I was to use this Lighting to USB 3 Camera Adapter and then a Lighting Audio Cable then connect a TRRS to a TRS cable, would this give me microphone?
Would I be able to connect a USB headset to this? I connected a lapel mic into the headphone jack but the Ipad pro didn't detect it, so I'm really at a loss as far as figuring out how to get sound into the ipad. I assume the built in mic would sound horrible as well as the headset that Apple sells because of background noise. So I would prefer to use a headset condensor mic.

Question, the ipadpro 12,9 inch (thé biggest ipadpro) the single port on this ipadpro is USB-c size only.
The iPad mini is different coz the single port is for lighning size ONLY

Have you been able to transfer XAVC-S files from the Sony A6000 successfully?
+backtomotionpictures I have tried with my Sony a7R II via the SD card reader adapter to iPhone 6s Plus and it didn't work. The import media screen doesn't show them. I guess it will be the same with the iPad Pro and the new USB 3 adapter. The problem is with the codec and the fact iOS doesn't support it. If we send Apple some (a lot of) feedback about this, perhaps change could come.
+Stefan Totev I just received the USB 3 to lightning adapter this afternoon, the XAVC files show up if the camera is in MTP mode, but won't let me import clips longer than 6 seconds. For clips over 6 seconds it starts importing but then rejects the connection after about 20 seconds.
+backtomotionpictures Still, not usable at all. Apple's specs list these codecs for iOS devices:
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 4K, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.2 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
No XAVC-S unfortunately.
+Stefan Totev it successfully imported clips less than 6 seconds and plays it back fine. So XAVC-S must be supported.

Your test with an Sony a6000 makes not really sense because this camera has only a USB 2.0 port, you are still limited and not on max spoeed, for more speed you should use a camera with USB 3.0 (not many out yet), or you should connect a USB 3.0 Card Reader instead of your USB 2.0 camera
since ios 8.2 its possible to connect the usb and sd adapters to an iPhone, does this adapter also work with 2.0 speed and the power function on an iPhone?
+Rico Reutimann Yes. there are still limitations, but it will work. I don't think any iPhones are on the "official" list of supported devices but I got many to work.

Yep, I have experienced the same, it will not even read a simple card reader (one of my cameras uses CF cards) or a simple USB thumb drive, so much for a solution to one my issues with the iPad (which I still love), indeed, back to Cupertino she goes, hopefully, Amazon will refund my $40.00. So much potential wasted.....

I don’t want to use it for mass storage. I want to use this as an app extention of my iPhone camera. Can I plug in my Sony a7iii and shoot tiktok with that while using my iPhone as the remote with this cable? That usage of this device was dodged entirely and I cannot find anyone else with a video saying they can use a live camera with this device. I don’t give a rats ass about storage.
