  • today we take a look at the steps to enable basic seating memory positions on the permobil F3, F5, M3 & M5 chairs! there are MANY more options for controlling memory seating that we'll cover in later videos :^) the information in this video roughly covers chairs from 2017 thru 2023.
    permobil's new 'power platform' that is slowly rolling out on new chairs will change everything, and simplify things EXPONENTIALLY! (assuming they release programming tools)

    **this video is a basic overview - there can be many more factors when enabling memory seating**

      I have been given *PRONTO sure step*
      Runs good for mm 40seconds
      Needs battery but i need to know how to disemble the seat off to get at the battery.?
      Can you direct me to video instructions of urs?

    I dont have onboard programming mode enabled on my M5 but I can save and recall seating position memories using the ICS buttons. I currently have one seating memory for driving mode and one for getting my knees low enough under my dining table, and one for pressure relief.

    Thanks Dan for sharing this information with us, I just tried it with my controller but on board programming isn't enabled, darn.
    Thanks anyway 👍

    Hello I have a question. Can all the accessories be disabled with the on board programming? I just need the chair to go forward and backward for a (2019 Corpus Premobile 5F)? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dan, is memory seating also available on non-permobil, Rnet powerchairs? I havent looked into it yet but it would be super helpful! Hope all is well. 😁🤙🏻

    I tried the front wheel drive permobil and liked it, it moved well and seems as though it would be pretty good for outside use. The permobil m-5 is not in my ability to get unless I pay 6k$.

      sometimes front wheel drive chairs can take some getting used to.. but are my pick for daily use!

      Just to let you know, you are doing a great service to everyone who is looking to work on their chairs. Since I found your channel, I have been watching and finding more and more helpful to either make changes or just watch you get out there on your adventures. Thanks

    Hey Dan thanks for the video I think I've asked before but was in chat before but how does the chair know how to get to the same save spot ?
    So basically do the actuators have "steps" like in a counter or a step motor? Or is it timed per memory steps .
    So is it like a CNC or 3d printer but those actually need to be placed to "Zero" to know where it is

    • @TotallyNormal-
      @TotallyNormal-  7 месяцев назад +1

      inside each actuator there is a gear driven 'hall effect' sensor that counts steps.. but they have an actual real-time feedback loop so controller knows exactly how much movement is occurring.. and the zero point effectively identifies the end stops. replacing an actuator requires calibration - OR careful installation if ya know how to do it ;^)
      a lot of CNC machines just send out pulses but don't know if the movement is actually occurring. the permobil system is pretty neat! and makes limit switches obsolete! (which cuts down significantly on extra wiring)

      @@TotallyNormal- Thanks Dan , now I know how the steps are counted.
      Appreciate it 👍

      It's weird that it doesn't return exactly to the memory location that you input into it.

    I just got a dongle. Plugged it up and got the obp menu made a couple changes. But now the obp menu is not coming up. Is there something I'm missing to do to get that menu back up?

    • @TotallyNormal-
      @TotallyNormal-  12 дней назад

      On board programming has to be enabled within the OEM settings to make it work without the dongle attached. It’ll work WHILE it’s connected like a hardware key, but unless the setting is changed, that’s the only time it’ll work.

    My insurance approved the permobil m vs. The atp says the tilt / recline no drive lockout can't be unlocked. In my current invacare I can drive in tilt / recline. I use it for some exercise routine setups. I can't believe permobil can't unlock this feature. Is the atp correct?

      the older chairs would still move, albeit a bit slower than normal.. but i'd speak with a permobil rep directly, or call permobil tech support to make sure.
      EVERYTHING on these new chairs with the power platform can be adjusted.. but right now only permobil reps have the ability to make ALL the changes on the chairs.

      My M5 is only 2 years old, and it drives in elevate, tilt or recline, and combinations of them, albeit more slowly.

    Is there anyway to get the programmer module.

    • @Rollin-Rant
      @Rollin-Rant 7 месяцев назад

      Ebay is probably the cheapest, but having said that, I bought a programmer off ebay and guess what, it didn't work and I ended up sending it back, so be careful.
      I think there is another option which Dan mentioned a while ago but the name of the place escapes me, they are expensive though.
