I have a few on the kardavox academy tiktok account. Essentially im bringing my arytenoid cartilages in over the vocal folds. I had a throat scope a while back and my epiglottis curves back a bit as well, but thats more incidental. Its a bit trickier but totally doable!
DUDE!!!! thank u! thank u thank u. ive been pulling back the wrong end of my tongue like a fuckin moron! i kept hearing,,, pull ur tongue back and get lower. my lows fuckin suck. but after seeing this video and watching u and alex and really getting to see wat the tongue is doing,,, and after a lil quit and soft playing around i can already hear and feel a huge difference. and i think pulling the wrong end of my tongue helped me learn to slightly squeeze down my arial pterodactyls or wat ever their called. bro! im fuckin stoked! i was beating my big dumb head against the wall goin nuts. my voice is a lil itchy from the weekend but soon as im feelin right im right back at it bro. its gonna be hard not to go around doing this all the time. i spent all weekend at work just growlin at ppl lol. im paying for it now tho. also, amateur tip... liquor and vocal practice dont mix... 1 at a time peeps. im fuckin stooooked!
Do you suspect at least some of his power comes from the fact he’s ripped and just has that much more force to apply to the muscles below diaphragm? I’m afraid that in any case that kind of absurdly powerful roar requires some kind of over-projection to which he just has an atypical, natural resistance. I have trouble believing it’s just really good resonance and projection technique though he obviously has that too
I agree… I also find it funny that he doesn’t respond back to this comment. It’s pretty annoying when people try to explain something they don’t grasp or understand just to get some content out. The dude making this video sounds like a pig farm. Instead of just grunting around, try speaking some words when you do it.
@@alanwright782 I’m not trying to criticize mark. He has to make a living and if that involves some filler content in which he doesn’t claim to be doing anything new or exciting then that’s cool. I was just asking this question hoping he or someone might reply because it’s an interesting subject but again if Mark is busy being successful I can’t hate lol
I don't think it helps. Look at Will Ramos, he's fit but not very muscular. He can pull off some absolute insane tones but it doesn't correlate to his posture. Check out the video where they poked a camera down his throat while he performed and you'll see what I mean.
@@pocketpunch9920 will Ramos has insane tones but they’re not as loud or powerful as Alex’s lows at least from what I’ve seen. A lot of Alex’s perceived power comes from exceptional projection and resonance but I think he has just an undeniable loudness that i doubt is possible without some over- projection. Because I literally do not know how to even do something like that even with unsafe technique I’m guessing he can push more from diaphragm in a way that is over-projected but not immediately damaging which is why I guessed he has stronger abdominal muscles to push from. Another thing about will Ramos is he does mainly fry vocals which I don’t think you can push as hard with without hurting yourself immediately. Another possibility is that the pockets and spaces in his mouth and nasal tract where things resonate are just more cavernous or better shaped to do something like that which I think is what Mark suspects
@@adriantepesut there's a YT channel which, I forget the full name but it's extreme vocal coaching something. He breaks down a lot of vocalists techniques and explains how to recreate them. Alex is projecting hard, I know personally my lows only sound strong and resonant when I build volume and project too. Alex is a monster though, and rightfully so. He worked hard for a long time to develop his own style.
A year ago everybody said Alex should be doing doom... I stumbled across this piece about a week ago.. I was wondering if somebody was going to do a reaction to it
A very low tone at the end is when you run out of air. I don't know how it happens inside, but when you give a lot of air and don't have enough air until the end, it's like the cords (or something) relax from the tension and... It feels like some other version of sound extraction is enabled. But this is only my opinion, i'm not professional)
Maybe someday! We've emailed with him back and forth but with the time difference and his insanely busy schedule we haven't found a time to make it work. That was quite a few years ago though, might be worth another shot

with this said I'm extremely amazed by Alex skills ever since you introduced his band to me with Baba Yaga or Demolisher
Yknow even if the rage on Alex’s face in this is all for the performance it does honestly look like at some points he will just pop from the rage lol
Does a person's tongue size make any difference? Also how many can make the predator gurgle?
Worm Shepard, Blood Kingdom
7:34 how the fuck do you do that? What exactly are you activating? That's what my vocals are missing, pls let me know if you have any tutorial about It.
I have a few on the kardavox academy tiktok account. Essentially im bringing my arytenoid cartilages in over the vocal folds. I had a throat scope a while back and my epiglottis curves back a bit as well, but thats more incidental. Its a bit trickier but totally doable!
Challenge: do your best recreation of this song.. but ou do all the vocals)) you say you can growl , well .. lets go)
DUDE!!!! thank u! thank u thank u. ive been pulling back the wrong end of my tongue like a fuckin moron! i kept hearing,,, pull ur tongue back and get lower. my lows fuckin suck. but after seeing this video and watching u and alex and really getting to see wat the tongue is doing,,, and after a lil quit and soft playing around i can already hear and feel a huge difference. and i think pulling the wrong end of my tongue helped me learn to slightly squeeze down my arial pterodactyls or wat ever their called. bro! im fuckin stoked! i was beating my big dumb head against the wall goin nuts. my voice is a lil itchy from the weekend but soon as im feelin right im right back at it bro. its gonna be hard not to go around doing this all the time. i spent all weekend at work just growlin at ppl lol. im paying for it now tho. also, amateur tip... liquor and vocal practice dont mix... 1 at a time peeps. im fuckin stooooked!
Mark, what class do you play? Alliance or horde?
Immediately have to recommend new Termina song, that shit is nasty
+
@Kardavox Academy is there a way I can send vocals to you? I haven't worked om it for very long, but I want to try it out a little better
You should do a video for each of these bands.
Between the buried and me, the dear hunter, khemmis, DVNE, leprous
a co-reaction with Austin Dickey to that Darkwatch vocal playthrough he uploaded would be cool
I'll check it out!
at 17.00 that part reminds me a lot of a part of the song: chemiera - worthless
Interesting!
You rock, bro!🫀
Thanks!
I want them to make a new DOOM now just to see if they put him on the soundtrack. Love it!
That'd be dope!
alex terrible did an Infant annihilator song where he shows off his highs a little more.
I'll check it out!
Yooo shout out to daddy Dickey
A year ago everybody said Alex should be doing doom... I stumbled across this piece about a week ago.. I was wondering if somebody was going to do a reaction to it
Beast
Please react too his cover of IA Decapitation Fornication his highs are nice and crispy!
I'll check it out!
Will ramos and alex need to collaborate
A very low tone at the end is when you run out of air. I don't know how it happens inside, but when you give a lot of air and don't have enough air until the end, it's like the cords (or something) relax from the tension and... It feels like some other version of sound extraction is enabled. But this is only my opinion, i'm not professional)
What are those pupleish covers on the headphones? Your band is pretty sick too.
Yo, thanks for the kind words about Kardashev! They are removable covers that are machine washable since I'm a sweaty cave troll of a human XD
@@KardavoxAcademy I am a sweat king!
You know Mark it would be pretty neat if you could do a collab with Alex on the channel
Maybe someday! We've emailed with him back and forth but with the time difference and his insanely busy schedule we haven't found a time to make it work. That was quite a few years ago though, might be worth another shot
@@KardavoxAcademy I'm sure we would all love to watch you pick his brain a little xD
I think you’ll like the vocals on True.Crisis by Guardians of the Secret, he’s a 1 man band. It has vocals I have never seen you cover or react to.
