Pretty simple.
It's an old fable about a frog giving a scorpion a lift over a river but the scorpion stings him half way across and they both drown. The frog asks why and the scorpion says that's his nature to sting.
The frog tries to help the scorpion across the river, but the scorpion can't fight his nature and stings the frog dooming them both to die in the river.
Love how the gang just HAD to be part of the musical.

Man, I wish the writers would try to recapture the off the wall but endearing zaniness of the early seasons. The show’s hit a wall, unfortunately
It happens to all long running shows especially a comedy, they talked about this on their podcast saying they aren't in their 20s anymore when the show started but are middle aged now and it would be sad and impossible to recreate their younger selves. It has dipped but I'll still watch till it ends.
