Dee's mom calling her a mistake when she and Dennis were twins is one of the funniest lines in the show imo.
lmao she completely disregarded 'disappointment'
It was, but Devito also tears it up lol. He's absolutely losing his mind lmao@Tonysopranoyafinook
@Tonysopranoyafinookhis "naaah" when Dee says they're twins like that fact can be disputed is so funny
6:47
@Tonysopranoyafinook Who knew when the lawyer said he was greasin the union...
My personal favorite side character in the show. He’s the perfect foil for the Gang’s pure insanity.
Agreed. It's a shame he hasn't been in the show in the last 3 seasons.
I think the gang officially ruined the lawyer in the McPoyle court case episode.
This actor also interviewed Zach Galifianakis on his Purple Onion DVD
It’s thematically perfect that the Gang, who act as if society has no rules, go up against the Lawyer, literally a keeper of society’s rules
He is a outstanding 👏 character! The lawyer rocks 🪨 🎸
"I am challenging you to a duel!"
"I accept."
❤️❤️❤️
Yugioh XD
“I’ll pencil you in for high-noon tomorrow”
...and I'll take that advice into co-operation
"yeah i'll indulge this idiot, it'll keep him off my back" sort of thinking XD
"You are aware that there are other lawyers in Philadelphia?"
That line has always killed me.
Yeah but he doesn’t charge
He does, but he just doesn't get paid.
I don’t think they do. Other than Lawyer, their legal defense is Charlie Kelly-Bird Law, Judge/Bailiff Ronald McDonald, and Uncle Jack, Attorney with Normal Sized Man Hands.

This man needs his own podcast episode as the greatest recurring nemesis for The Gang. The lawyer’s slow unraveling as he keeps interacting with The Gang is great.
Brian Unger will be there :)
@@sting6ph😅u x😮
His interviews on the young turks are pretty damn cringe. Great character on the show, but eww, just eww
@@justins1034TYT is cringe tho
Nah, cricket is. One of the most depraved people on a sitcom.
The Lawyer: “They’re pretty simple, the forms are all standard boilerplate.”
Charlie: “Okay well, we’re all hungry, we’re gonna get to our hot plate soon enough”
That’s the best line.

Man, the lawyer is the best antagonist in this show.
Protagonist
the gang are the antagonists aren't they? haha
@@MrJaguarDesert not in their point of view.
The term for the Lawyer is "Hero Antagonist"
(Other Hero Antagonists include Hal from "Thelma & Louise", MacDuff in "MacBeth", and Inspector Zenigata in "Lupin III")
I love how he isn’t even a nemesis… he’s just wants to stop the gang in any way he can from exploiting other people
He becomes pretty vindictive tho
Not really, at the start he just wanted to get away from them. Failing that he wanted to get revenge on them.
@dxcSOUL I think anybody would. After my 2nd dealing with the gang I would of asked the Kosovan lads at the end of my Street to help me do a Casino ending on the gang. Big field, big hole, half a dozen metal bats etc.
At first yeah, but after the kitten mittons episode he become obsessed with them, how a family who lost their house was able to pay a Harvard graduated lawyer? Well they didn't, the lawyer look for them and didnt charged them for the service just to screw the gang, as he did with mareen and Dennis divorce
@@LoudaroundLincoln do you think that would honestly stop them? They're roachs dude
I like how this Lawyer that went to Harvard is totally unprepared and incapable of actually dealing with 5 complete idiot sociopaths
I feel like no amount of preparation could ever save you from these people tbh
@@octavianschaefer7294 No contest, Charlie is probably the most dangerous
Ironically he's the most prepared and handles them better than anyone else 😂

That’s one of my absolute favorite lines of the entire series. Howerton delivers such ab absurd line so matter of factly, and makes it work.
The way he delivers and looks when says: "Are those fake hands?" is so brilliant.
everlong
What about his reaction when dee said the stripper was the payment just his body language
"When I heard you were getting divorced, I felt compelled to involve myself" LOL
I like how he resisted stooping to their level but the more time he spent trying to get revenge he ends up losing an eye. He’s slowing becoming like cricket and getting destroyed by the gang. It’s funny because unlike cricket if he just kept his distance he would have been okay.
honestly...i feel like the gang is like Mercury or Asbestos...ok in small doses but any like term exposure and it kills u
He's like reverse cricket , he wants to get involved with them so he could ruin their lives as much as possible but in turn he's becoming more and more like the gang.
Aaron Thompson I feel like it’s a “picture of Dorian grey” situation. Where the gang is unharmed by their shenanigans, but all their bad actions are seen in Cricket and others.
He already had a massive win for the kitten mittens but he just got caught in the absurdity of the gang’s bullcrap and could never be free because of the grudge he refuses to let go of. It’s a perfect Kafka-esque nightmare for him.
if cricket had kept his distance it would have also been okay. the last sentence makes no sense.
He is the most boring and normal person in the whole Sunny universe and he still manages to be the funniest and coolest character in the whole show. I can't even explain why, it's just something about him.
He’s just constantly done with their shit that’s why.
its his hands

He's on retainer for sunny
He was in reno 911 for a skit, pretty unhinged scene lol it was great
@@wisewisdomtooth Reading Ron lol
Plot twist: he’s not an actor, he’s an actual lawyer… and he’s Jewish
I hear he’s weak on Bird Law.
But then again, bird law isn't governed by reason
Uh.... filibuster
I can't blame him, you know. Real estate-wise, some matters are very complex.
Birds aren't real, Birdlaw doesn't apply
Brian Unger with a master class in deadpan. Brings so much comedic depth and gravitas to every scene. Legend.
Love him.
“Don’t worry, because wherever you are, I’ll find ya” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
His little gun sign with his hand kills me everytime 😂😂😂
Charlie:”I’m also gonna need a patent for the Kitten Mittens.”
Lawyer:”I’m sure you do. I was just gonna ask you ‘Hey? Need Kitten Mitten patents?’”

the funniest thing is this talented lawyer tried so many times to destroy them and he never managed to bring them to their knees
"I am sure you do, i was gonna ask, need kitten mittens patent or something" that line always cracks me up, the lawyer is my favorite side character.
I love how his patience gets thinner and thinner as the show goes on lol
I like how the storytelling on IASIP mimics the main character's sociopathy. There are these recurring characters -- the Waitress, the Lawyer -- who cross paths with the gang multiple times but they never bother to learn their names because they are important only as placeholders in the gang's own self-involved schemes (Charlie probably knows the Waitress's name, but that's beside the point)
The dueling scene gets me every time
💀
I never noticed that at 8:42 frank finally says something nice to the lawyer when he compliments the tie. Earlier in the season Frank tells the lawyer, "I hate your tie".
He also calls him a gew lawyer twice, which as everyone knows, they’re the best lawyers
“Ah it’s nice to see you again Mr. Reynolds, I see that you’re still just…. Terrible.”
the scene of them screaming at their mom through the lawyer is one of my favoruite scenes in TV history
TELL THAT BITCH IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE
“The Lawyer” always delivers. I’m always happy to see him.
The lawyer is a great actor.
Look at 3:20 when Frank insults his tie, he subtly touches it while speaking confidently about the family's legal rights. It shows that he's affected by the gang but trying not to let it rattle him.
The lawyer has mad charisma
We need Punished Lawyer in a future episode, with a cool eyepatch.
Punished "Venom" Lawyer:
A Jewish Man Denied His Marriage
I really hope they bring him back one more time
Honestly it's funny, the lawyer is a decent dude, maybe a little smug but he's on the side of justice.
And his smugness is understandable when dealing with the sunny crew.
"I'm gonna pencil you in for High Noon tomorrow" 😂
Imagine the lawyer coming back with an eyepatch.
Imagine the lawyer coming back.
The shear CONFIDENCE when Charlie immediately steps in and goes "Its not bull-bird, Frank. He's making a few good points." Kills me every time.
Seems like you have a tenuous grasp on the English language in general - the lawyer speaks to Charlie for a minute and deduces he’s illiterate 🤣
Considering he misused multiple words in a very short time 😂
"Then I'll just regress because I feel like I've made myself perfectly redundant."
@@Winteramen ironically that made too much sense even by accident.

Filibuster
This lawyer guy is such a Jabroni. Lets say he and Charlie go toe to toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor.
Then in a hillarious twist the lawyer wins.
Hold on, dude, I gotta stop you there because you keep saying this word "jabroni" and it. Is. AWESOME.
Ironic considering by the end he fought an actual bird and lost an eye. Total jabroni.
I love that the door inexplicably repairs itself just to be destroyed again
One of the funniest supporting characters in television history 😂
The only side character on the show who manages to not have his life completely ruined by the gang
_well…_
@@TeamSukiyo Wait what happens to him? I know he lost an eye but besides that what else?
@@apexpredator6960 Just listen to his speech when the wild tics kick in and then his violent reaction when the case is dismissed
nah they ruined his life not as bad as some other side characters but in this video he says they ruined his first marriage and the second hanging by a thread. he’s trying so hard to be vindictive towards them but it’s only making him crazy
Just wait for next season. They might pull something. Having a one eyed lawyer doesn’t look good to a jury. And if you’ve heard of Paddy’s Pub or any of its members and this case, I wouldn’t hire him out of the slight possibility it attracts them into my case somehow. He’s been scarred after so many lucky breaks, it can only go downhill from there.
Look at The Waitress. *Look* at her.
I love how the Lawyer goes from wanting nothing to do with them to actively sabatoging them at every possible turn.
Funniest recurring character of the whole series, his delivery is always priceless
The lawyer has been the only character to effectively weaponize the gang's chaos and use it against them
Yeah he beat them at their own game multiple times. He just made the mistake of overexposing himself
Harvard Lawyer vs 5 Alcoholic Narcacissts.
😂😂😂 what makes charlie a narcissist😂
Lmfaoo Charlie holding his lapels while he talks about his various lawyerings 😂😂😂
That first scene is one of my favourites in the whole show. Incredible performance from Brian Unger
"Any respect you feel from me is a mistake on your part." If only it were appropriate to be honest in real life.
Well it's not and may get you killed, literally.
It is perfectly acceptable, most people just think being honest gives them an excuse to be a rude dick about whatever they are gonna say, which it doesn't.
@@meh7348yeah and they have no tact so they see performances like this and think "im gonna do that and I'll look cool as well" while missing the critical context that the character is being mean like that because he's talking to - quote frankly- domestic terrorists who constantly harass and insult him and also owe him money for prior services so it's not only entirely fair for him to be rude like that but in the context of the show it's cathartic- the characters in the gang had it coming, it's part of what makes the show funny.
But then they go out and say something at that level of aggression and toxicity to like... everyone they speak to with no discretion whatsoever, then they wonder why no one thought the new schtick was cool and no one's talking to them. 🤦
My favorite part in the first clip is how he goes “I know how hard this can be” as if Dennis is the only one that’s normal in the family, that is just completely ruined in less than two seconds
I think it should be a requirement that The Lawyer be in at least one episode per season. Preferably two. He is my absolute favorite reoccurring character. His reactions to the gang’s insanity are always just priceless!
Many “forknights”
I love that the Lawyer was more angry at the verdict than the McPoyle family was
It’s the funny that the only character who could serve as a straight man archetype witnessing the gangs madness is an antagonist
SHES TAKING IT INTO THE GRAVE! best part.
The whole him being Jewish was a uppercut of laughter out of left field and I hope they keep it.
I love the lawyer, that actor killed it
Honey and vinegar? Jesus christ.. I'll get on it.
This guy
"I do charge, you don't pay" - the Lawyer.
I’m actually surprised that the gang doesn’t get visited by this lawyer every other episode 😂
The cow has episodes?
4:50. Charlie's entire outfit. The too short brown and lime green tie, the slightly yellowed short sleeved shirt, the khakis, the hair. I can't....I just can't, it's too much. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
Mac aggressively eating the documents as the gang cheers him on is so fucking funny
This video might be the perfect one to introduce to friends and family who never watched the show.
If they don't like it from the start, forget it.
If they are still watching to the end, they get it.
i love how they still have to break the front door down even though they’ve already entered inside lmao
The Lawyer in the coolest amongst many great characters
his reaction when Dee says "thats what the hooker was for" is priceless.
@10:57 I love that Glenn couldn't keep a straight face during that introduction. On paper the exchange is only mildly funny "He says 'the pleasure is all mine' before the other guy says 'it's a pleasure to meet you'" but the delivery is so good!
I thought lawyers are supposed to have much bigger hands
“Honey and vinegar?? Ok… Jesus Christ” 😂😂😂 that part kills me.
“actually they’re pretty simple, all standard boilerplate”
“okay well we’re all hungry we’ll get to our hot plates soon enough”
“it seems like you have a tenuous grasp on the english language in general” 🤣
“I had to get paid by you people somehow.”

Gruff voice:
“Whady’a mean, *you people*?”
The moment Charlie challenged him and he more than humored him, he was too lost into making them lose. He revels in every moment they all just lose to an extreme, he bounces his briefcase happily with the kitten mitten case, how his voice sounds excited everytime he tells them they lost whatever they're trying, more than playing along with uncle jack, how he first starts profession to the judge only to spiral to blatant nonsense at the end of his opening statement, and just absolutely smiling cheek to cheek when he says he will fire a bullet through Charlie's head. Great stuff. Unfortunately his downfall ofc, but still.
this shyster lawyer!!!
That face and noise at 5:32 is what makes the lawyer great
3:28 macs laughing
Rob farted lol. Look at Glenn’s reaction.
And at 11:01 lol
"I do charge. You don't pay." : )
"So I'm going to pencil you in, for high noon tomorrow."
Idk why that line takes me out every time.
The duel scene is epic!
The Lawyer is a seriously underrated character in this show. Just fantastic.
The absolute funniest shit to me about the lawyer is that he subtly threatened Charlie with a gun.
Frank giving PONDIE a bump in court during the courtroom chaos was gold.
I love how anyone who crosses path with the gang goes insane too.
Except for Artemis because she, clearly, was already there when she met the gang.
frank doing a bump amidst the chaos 😂😂😂
I love how they directly, indirectly, systematically and inadvertently ruin his life. LOL! Awesome video! Wish we had one for Uncle Jack!
Let's say you learned your lesson...I learned a little lesson...
"eh?"
The little pause he takes before "fat monkey heart" -- absolutely brilliant acting... love this guy...
After years of one-upping the gang, the Lawyer is finally and decisively defeated by them in a court of law. He was an awesome foil but when you go looking for trouble with 5 complete psychopaths you might as well dig your own grave (for your eye)
"Then I'll just regress becasue I made myself perfectly redundant" is a line I used more times than I'd like to admit 😂
“Fat monkey heart” always kills me
For all the time i thought dennis understand the procedure and then in the end he said
“thanks for the house dude” 😂
"I feel like I've made myself perfectly redundant...."😂😂😂 That delivery is just perfection.
I don’t know why, but I love the way Dennis kicks down that door. So much anger!
