    How about audacity, can we optimize its features to make a good clear sound of a speech?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  Год назад +1

      Yes, in Audacity: Use Noise Reduction, Equalization, Compression, Normalize and De-esser to enhance speech clarity.

      A quick note. I had to click Window > Mixer from the main menu to get the Mixer to show in the UI where Mike has it. That is such a great tip.

    I’m using cs6 and can’t find match loudness can anybody help me?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  5 месяцев назад

      Hey there! In Adobe Audition CS6, you can achieve similar loudness matching by using the 'Amplify' effect in the Effects Rack - but it’s not Match Loudness sadly.

    Thanks a lot. Question: If I apply a parametric eq to one track, can I apply a parametric eq to another track with different equalisation? Basically if I change the eq on one, will the other one remain unchanged? Thanks a lot for the video. 👍

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  Год назад

      Yes, you can apply different parametric EQ settings to multiple tracks individually. Changing the EQ on one track will not affect the EQ settings on the other tracks. Thank you for watching the video! 👍

    Thanks for the tips Mike! I often forget the power and precision that comes with Audition. Does ctrl+z undo minute changes like adjusting frequencies when EQ'ing? PPro just undoes the plugin altogether when I hit ctrl+z and it's super annoying.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  11 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome! In Adobe Audition Ctrl+Z typically undoes the last action but not as fine as each EQ change I'm afraid.

    A question for you -- as my guests are never in the same location as me, I use Squadcast to record everyone, then I download all the the .wav files, one for each guest and me. What preprocessing should I do on the files themselves before bringing them into multitrack, what should I add as track-level rack effects, and what should go on the master track in multitrack? The workflow confuses me. Thansk very much. I've been binging all your content for a few days now.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  Год назад

      Before bringing your Squadcast-recorded WAV files into a multitrack, consider basic preprocessing like noise reduction and leveling. For track-level effects, apply EQ, compression, and possibly noise gating as needed for each guest. On the master track, use a limiter and a final EQ for overall balance.

    Can you also do things such as Denoise and all other effects like this? I am doing interviews and are very similar to this formula...this workflow makes more sense and seems more streamlined than the way I would normally process the files.
