hi, i'm trying to set a few things and came across this video. I may sound a bit 'self indulgent' or something, but one problem i'm seeing when i comment on videos, perhaps this one for instance, is that i don't get many likes, usually likes, whilst most comments on the video are clocking up the likes. Sometimes i put it down to my comment not deserving any. Maaybe its a boring comment. Other times the video maay be a year or two old, and perhaps people have moved on. On some videos, theres been no new comments for a few years. I then comment, and then get zero response. I then give up commenting on that one, and find another more recent one. Sometimes a video has a few comments, sometimes a lot of comments, like this one has 2558. I imagine the more comments that are already there, the more mine just gets lost amongst them. RBut right now, on this vid, the comment i can see below mine has 42 likes, the one below that haa 400 likes. And so on. But on aany video i comment on, no matter what i put, or how interesting i may think it is, i very rarely get any likes, and in history i think i've never reaached anywhere near double figures. Settings seem like you say in this vid. No kids etc.... What am i doing wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
I am unable to comment on any RUclips video while there are comments by others, there isn't comment option for me, though I can reply on others' comments on my RUclips app through any of my account. My restricted mode is off. Although, if I log in the same RUclips account through firefox, the comment option is visible on all the videos. What could be the problem? And suddenly the comment option becomes available on RUclips app for a random video like luckily, it was available on this video. But if I open it again the comment option for "me" disappears while I can read n reply others' comments. Pls help.

I toggled these videos to “not made for kids,” but it detected my voice and my comments are disabled on some of those videos. Is it really true that this can’t be freaking undone because there’s technically still a minor in that video, even though I am almost an adult now?
Nope! Unfortunately, any minors in a RUclips video are not allowed to have comments because of a children’s protection law, but this can be activated by a minor’s voice even if that person has grown up since then. That’s the only thing I discovered when I looked this up.

i was looking for this video i gave my laptop to my lil sis to watch youtube but when i was watching shorts the comment button wasnt there, THIS HELPED ALOT TYSMM!!!!
I had noticed a lot of phantom comments. The app shows the comment preview, but then it shows it was removed. My assumption is that it is because I had it set to hold potentially for review. I generally monitor my channel pretty closely so I updated it to show all comments. I'm hoping that stops my comments from being removed!
I have just found you today and watch 3 different videos to where not only did you help me out but ylu got straight to the point. Which honetly makes you a 5* channel in my opinion. I hate the long ones where they put everything in there on God's green earth before getting to the only part that actually matters. I am suggesting you to others.

We are old school sweethearts, my young brother just passed & this Man was there for me even though it's been at least 15 yrs his wife died of cancer 6 yrs ago etc. they had a wonderful life together... Turns out that youtube have stuck a load of related videos where the comments used to be, you have to scroll down through these videos, to find the comments section, I found this out, just by being patient and checking everything, I hope this comment saves people time, with the same issue. I have just wiped my computer clean and upgraded my system, this may have been why the change happened. Dont get me wrong, your video is the best I have seen for this issue, but it turned out to be a simple scrolling issue. I hate when things like this change, it just causes more work, youtube are just trying to promote content I guess, but I find this annoying to say the least, but as free users, we dont have much say.

I got it, I increased the size of the firefox browser and that's why it screwed up the view of my channel and my videos once I reduced it I could see all again back to normal, great tutorial, just an added information

For me it’s really weird cuz I made a video and I did everything you said to do in your video but it still says that the comments are turned off. Which is really annoying because my video was about how I draw graffiti on paper and I told people to tell me what to draw next in the comments when I posted it… the comments were disabled so I put it back to private so if you know what’s happening that would be a lot of help🙏

Even when "allow all comments" is selected, my actual videos say "comments are turned off". Nobody can help me figure out why, and there's no phone number for RUclips customer support.
Nobody has ever been able to help me with this. I **want** comments on my video. When I go to the defaults and "allow all comments" has been selected for years.... the public videos on my channel still don't allow comments.
Do you have to go on desktop to do the settings? Cause for some reason when I posted my first video on my phone and then the comments became disabled, but on my iPad is working just fine, idk why. But I can’t seem to get the comments working on my phone, please help 🙏
Im having the same issue, whats weird, is having described the issue, it then posted my comment about the issue of not be able to comment, posted it onto my comment section of my video!!! Lol, so now i dont know if others can post on my videos, without having to post onto THIS comment section, which is a comment section that belongs to some dude with a hat on in a video. Lmao its easier to just have the comments on lol
I really hate the fact that we can't comment on a lot of SpongeBob videos, same with other cartoons such as Bluey and MLP because they are also for kids. It's just very frustrating...
Some of my older videos automatically turned off comments and i can't turn them back on even when i turn on the comments in the settings. It's already labeled as not for kids and nothing happens

Thank you, I didn't realize setting it to be viewed by kids would disable comments. I thought that just meant it's not 18+ style content.
