Eli, I really want you to know that your awesome at explaining these things. I'm a retired long haul truck driver and I never played any kind of musical instrument in my life. I've always wanted to learn banjo. I found a banjo at a music store. I swear it's one of the only banjos in Pennsylvania lol. It's like new and I think it was either an unwanted gift or someone gave up before they put any wear on it. So I'm following your 30 day course and I feel very slow at picking this up. I'm just starting day 3 and I'm over a week into practicing 1 hour every night. Maybe a slow learner of musical talent but dammed determined. I won't give up! My biggest obstacle so far was getting my fingers to pick correctly. I was hitting 2 strings and I think I finally got fingers that did nothing but grip a steering wheel and a shift knob all my life to make a pleasant banjo sound. Thanks!
Ooh! I’m at work and can’t watch this rn but I’m excited to watch it later tonight. I just started playing last month and busted a string the first time I tried tuning 😕 I had to take it to a shop too but new strings and they fixed it for me. On to lesson 25! 😊
There could be a lot of reasons, so it's hard for me to say exactly, but if you've never done this before it can be really hard to get it exactly right by ear. But you'll get better over time! And for now use an electronic tuner to get it just right.

Keep up the good work bro!
I used to use a tuner, but it didn't take long for me to learn it by ear.
Maybe play a little song for each tuning you'll post later? Would be kinda fun. Tabs under would be appreciated as well!
Why is my banjo out of tune, when I did it like you?
