  • I was sent a new Costco Kirkland Signature driver by Gabe at Let's Play Thru. I test it out and compare it to another under $300 driver.

    Great initial test 🙌 can’t wait to see the supers-driver you build.

    I bought one for $190. Best driver for me I’ve had. Shaft and head combo work for me. It is slightly closed in my opinion. Great value in my opinion. I hit 210-220, use regular flex, head turned down to 9.5.

    Great video. Gabe recently did a review on some Maltby irons. He seemed to enjoy them a good bit. I would like to see some testing on those products such as the new TS/TE+ series of irons and maybe the KE line of drivers. They are great clubs and are priced well below the major brands.

    Callaway Optiforce was a great driver. I fitted my neighbor in one and he is still smoking them down the fairway with it!

    Anyone remember the Sam's Club Billy Club? It was actually decent.
    This looks worlds better. Be nice to get that spin rate down some.

    From the reviews not as Forgiving as top of the line but also not $600. Recommendation is take the Head and put it on a Mizuno compatible Shaft that fits your Swing. Make a huge difference in performance.. You should be able to pick up good shaft for around $100 so for $299 you can get a custom fit kind of Brand new Driver with a lot of Technology in it.

    Other than previously owned drivers there's still some good leftovers out there.
    I was considering either the Kirkland, the PXG 0211 (same price). or the reissue TM.M4. After some more research wound up with a brand new $199 TM M5 from an authorized dealer on EvilBay..
    Wish I could say about its performance but it's too cold to try it out and to add insult to injury our local driving range with new heated bays burned down.

    I've heard a lot of reviewers saying that the Kirkland looks like a Titleist, but my first thought like you, was that it resembled the Optiforce.

    Great vidoe would like to see it with a better shaft and does any of the mizuno shaft adaptor adjustments do anything?

      @EFGMC  5 месяцев назад

      Yes the Mizuno adapter should move everything the same amount as in the Mizuno head.

    I have been gaming mine for about a week. 6 rounds and love it. Now I currently own and regularly play a TM Sim 2 Max, 2 Stealth (9 and 10.5), 2 Stealth 2 HDs, a Rogue ST, a TSR1, a Krank and a TM Mini 300. I like the Kirkland as well as my TSR1 which is my favorite of the other drivers I have. I have ordered a G430 Max and a Darkspeed so will be able to compare those in a week or so, but clearly the Kirkland is worth $200 and if you play it for a while and decide you don't want it Costco will give you your $200 back for it.

    Are Calloway, Ping, Taylor Made and all the other Ferraris worth 3 times the price for what, possibly 3 extra yards to the average hacker?

    Great video, thanks! What sort of shaft adapter is on the Costco driver? If it’s a standard OEM (like Callaway or Taylormade) It would be interesting to see how the driver head compares with a “premium” OEM driver head with a similar loft and using the same premium shaft with the two heads!

    • @alecbaldwinsnotpropgun

      Mizuno STX shaft adapter fits it.

    • @EFGMC
      @EFGMC  5 месяцев назад +1

      The head can use a Mizuno adapter. Ball speed numbers were comparable to any big name guy on good strikes.

    • @paulmurphy5614
      @paulmurphy5614 5 месяцев назад

      @@EFGMC Mizuno adapter is really interesting, the head sole design (especially the two lines) looks almost identical to the Mizuno JPX 850 driver but with the weights removed and then combined with a modern ST type black crown. Maybe Mizuno are involved with this?!?!?

    I think my biggest question is why? One can buy top end equipment second hand for less. I bought a Titleist Tsi3 for less than the Costco driver. Yes it is used, but looking at it you would never know. It looked brand new. If price is your issue then performance is nullified. Buy a $50 driver at a generic sporting goods store and be done with it. The performance would be relatively the same as that $200 Costco driver

    • @esnyd
      @esnyd 5 месяцев назад +1

      100% Agree, I also got a TSi3 maybe a year ago, pristine condition, tensei AV shaft, for < $300 and its 20X the Costco or similar driver.

    • @hi29592
      @hi29592 5 месяцев назад +1

      The value of the used driver you bought and that other used driver is entirely dependent on the seller. You cant just nullify the cost argument and based off of arbitrary numbers that don't have a rhyme or reason as to why it was priced as such.

    • @industrialpalletworx3548
      @industrialpalletworx3548 5 месяцев назад

      @hi29592 not so much. It's fairly easy to figure out the going rate. Once you do that, look for a listing that meets your criteria. As for the other one. My point is why spend $200 on a Costco driver that isn't even in the same ballpark as a mainstream manufacturer. Second, if you're looking to save money and performance, doesn't really matter. Why spend $200 for the Costco? I can hit my Dad's Kmart driver fairly well. Not as good as I hit my Titleist, but for the money he paid it was worth it.

    • @industrialpalletworx3548
      @industrialpalletworx3548 5 месяцев назад

      @esnyd I scored the Tsi3 head in the loft I wanted and then a brand new never used Tensei 1k black shaft. It was new for the Tsr line. I got that shaft for $75 shipped. I bought separate parts put together my own and then sold the other one. All told between 2 Tsi3 drivers after buying both and selling one I have $220 in it. Brand new shaft lightly used head.

      @@esnyd Have you played the Costco driver? If not, then you are not in any position to make comparisons.
      Also, you must be hitting your driver 5000 yards at least (given it is "twenty times the driver"...).
