Thankyou for my first ever comment!! Oh it was a stunning destination, never been Peak District before 💪🏽 And these were only snapshots of it. Just about 2 weeks on now and I feel great.. back to normal physically (knee).. physiologically still waiting to feel balanced again. Cheers again mate 🙏🏼
Ahh thanks mate 🙏🏼 Hopefully this gave you a good idea of what to expect. It’s definitely a good first ultra, achievable but a challenge (terrain/elevation)! Maybe see you there next year 💪🏽👊🏽
Absolutely stunning scenery, makes me want to visit England to just go run! Massive respect for sticking in there and finishing even though you were in pain. Congrats on the achievement!
Thankyou for the lovely comment mate! Yeah, England’s got some lovely scenic routes.. and many that are not as flat as one would first assume haha! Corr yeah, it was tough but looking back now I can’t remember the pain just that sweet feeling of crossing the finish line and seeing my friends again🌟 Cheers again 🍻
Such a lovely comment.. Thankyou for taking the time to reach out and so glad you enjoyed it (enough to watch it 4 times haha!). I learnt a lot about ultras and even more about filming “documentaries” from this experience.. can’t wait to grow and improve to create some more💪🏽 🤓
Ahh Thankyou for the comment! Yess, to my surprise I was only a few minutes behind them.. quite literally for about an hour they must have just been around every corner I turned. Can’t wait for this year, I’ll be documenting the 125km England as well as the summer series 👍🏽 Stay tuned.
Thankyou so much Christopher! I’m super excited for you! You’re going to love it ❤️ I think I mostly struggled because I tried to keep up with my friends on the uphills (even though they were half my weight haha) but held myself back on the downhills (rather than playing into my strengths) so i definitely recommend going at your own pace and you’ll do just fine! All the best mate 🌟
Haha, you’re not wrong! Was definitely outside of my pain comfort zone, but was lucky to share the experience with some really positive people though so kept my head in the game 👍🏽 🏃🏽♂️ New vlog coming next week 💪🏽
Ahh thanks for the comment mate! Means a lot 👌🏼Can't wait to make another documentary! I'm thinking of filming the Cambridge half marathon this weekend which should be fun!
@@ActiveIdeas I've only been running for 11months, I started c25k, then park run, then 10k, then metric half marathon, I'm planning a half marathon, marathon, then ultra..thats my plan. But Ulta is my goal. I honestly like your approach to running, very honest. Looking at upgrading my Forerunner 255 now, something with maps & climbpro. I'm just watching your rat race 70miler 😊
@shropshirecycle @shropshirecycle @shropshirecycle Awh thanks for the nice comments mate and thanks for supporting the channel! It sounds like your running journey is coming along nicely! Once you hit that marathon distance you’ll definitely be able to take on ultra marathons, there’s not much different really in terms of training.. just for me it requires a harder taper and sooo much more food on the day haha! I actually finished most ultras in better shape than the marathon and half marathon because of the pace those shorter races require 🙈 Nice, the 255 is excellent but it’s amazing having maps and climb pro.. I guess you’re looking at 955, 965 and the Fenix models? 😍 Ahh that rat race event was fantastically organised, I highly recommend! 🌟
It is a minefield out there, even has a “tech reviewer” I get lost with the features on the different models. Cheers mate, I have the Spine Race 268 mile ultra vlog coming in 2 weeks 🔥👊🏽
This is fantastic news! I’m also booked on next year so I’ll see you there mate 💪🏽 Good question.. it’s a Fenix 6X Pro Titanium Solar haha (long name).. I have quite small wrists but this watch has been great with the month long battery life, navigational maps, etc… the watch band is the “Garmin Enduro Nylon Band 26mm” which I bought for comfort and weight. (Heads up, there’s the Garmin Fenix 7 being released in a few days so check for deals)
Hahahaha, I must admit when I first saw this comment a few weeks ago I had no idea what you were talking about! But I just Googled his name in Pret A Manger and publicly laughed my butt off. I see where you're coming from. Thanks for the comment Rich 👍🏼
Not at all ❤️ Following the watch GPX map, the people and the flags put out by Ultra X had me pretty confident throughout the race. This is a great race to practise navigation. I highly recommend using either a Suunto, Coros or Garmin watch to do the race 🌟 Also if you watch some coaching (I’m happy to help with navigation) DM me 😉
Hey mate, thanks for the question! I don’t think I did any more than 55miles haha. But I was consistent every week and filtered in some cross training too (swimming, spin and S&C). You doing it this year?
Oh wicked! I’ll see you there then! Yeah was definitely fun! I was lucky enough to not get any blisters.. I ran in Nike Wildhorse 6’s which are about a size up from ‘true to size’ so had lots of room in the toe box! 👌🏽
Seriously, guys, this is amazing! Great achievement. Beautiful landscapes, and wonderful trails. Hope the knee feels better already.

Considering Ultra X Eng for my first one, so cheers, this video was great 👍🏻 and well done!

Hey Guys. I've watched your video 4 times. Massive well done to you all. It made me smile 😃

Wow well done Kingsley great race, you were only a few minutes behind them.

@@ActiveIdeas Whats that like about 80 miles nearly?
@@bollocks40 yeah just under 80 miles! Eeek 😅
Great video, I’m doing it this year (only a few days away now) and your video has got me super excited and nervous at the same time

Well done. It looked like you struggled through injury for a long part of the race. Kudos for finishing 👍🏻🏃♂️

Endurance running...nothing better.
Agreed 🌟
Well done mate 👏 awesome
Thanks Jake!! 👊🏽🌟
Awesome video. Looks so beautiful. Well done 👏
Thankyou ❤️ It was stunning! Google “mam tor Peak District” 🤩 Definitely heading back for more ⛰
This was fun!!!
Yeah it was! 🌟 We can’t wait to get back out on the trails!!

@@TigerFitnessThetford Lad! Let me know if you do book up to Ultra X England 50km or 125km next year! Im already signed up 🤣
Well done, very inspirational 🎉
Ahh, appreciate it!! Have you done any of the Ultra X events? 🌟

The Garmin watch model's is a nightmare, besides really good derailed maps & climbpro, I wouldn't know what to choose. Keep up the good vlogs,

Good effort. Am signed up for next year on the 50km, so far out of my comfort zone!!! Just a quick question, what make and model is your watch?

Well done Mr Curtis Warren on leaving behind a life of drug dealing and taking up ultra running!!
Joking aside outstanding achievement guys all round!

Was navigation challenging? Im considering my first ultra but im scared of getting lost!

Has the route changed this year? Did a recce on Sunday and this route looks the same but checkpoints are in different places etc.
Route and checkpoints will have slight variations I’m sure.. what will be the same is the Vibe! What you see here is pretty much what you’ll get 😉
Hey mate! What was your peak weekly mileage training for this?
Hey mate, thanks for the question! I don’t think I did any more than 55miles haha. But I was consistent every week and filtered in some cross training too (swimming, spin and S&C). You doing it this year?
I think I will do it yes, looks really good! Did you got any blistering issues on the day?

And wore some injini toe socks as well I think
