great vid Mr. woo while you were talking I was rembering as a kid we always watched (on sunday night) The Wonderful World of Disney. some of the shows were introduced by Walt. it was bitter sweet loved the shows but it also meant the end of the weekend and back to school Monday morning. many years ago now.
Definitely going to check this out. I find it hard to believe with all the Disney hype and expense that these two graves are left untended and in a poor state. You would think the Disney family would have taken better care.
Thanks for taking my suggestion and immediately going! Lol wasn't expecting a video that quick! Sucks that there's nothing left of the town but support excited you found his grandparents graves! Now maybe people will start taking flowers out there. What was the inscription on the trunk? Couldn't make it out in the video. To the question about the other graves within that square yes they would all be related! Probably siblings of Walt's mother and cousins.
Walt’s maternal grandparents, Charles and Henrietta Call. Walt’s mother passed away in California. Walt and Roy come from a lineage of amazingly wonderful hearts and minds. Well done ATW. Your showmanship is like that working water pump. So many others don’t but that one does in Ponceannan. Enjoying the vlogs man, and the narration.
Pulled me in by the “Tractor beam” from the adamthewoo channel. Commented, liked, subscribed, blahbity blah blah, as requested! I hope to eventually see some movie sites revisited, even they are rare since the selling of Large Marge...Love the channel man.
I am also a huge WED fan ATW. I really enjoy your historical vlogs. Most of them show thiiiiiings I haven't seen in my plethora of Disney historical type books.
you looked so excited that you could pee your pants. lol it was like watching a puppy running around. headed to epcot this weekend and we have a spare day so i might be able to convince the family to take a short trip to the cemetery and check it out ourselves.
Use headphones and raise the volume to nearly maximum (and changing the audio speed from normal to 0.5 also helps) and you can hear a voice say "You too can see them" at 2:28-2:29. A female asks "Can you hear me?" at 8:50. Perhaps it's Walt's grandma. Then a male can be heard saying "Over here" at 8:55. You should start listening at 8:54 because it's heard right at the beginning of 8:55. Unless you use headphones and raise the volume to nearly maximum you won't hear them very well, if at all.
chicago???the name Perkins is interesting, my mother had relitives names perkins,, in,,, Chicago,,, I wonder,,,,,,,, good vid Adam,, I got to do some research
You are so right Adam,..... what if!??. Sure glad it worked out the way it did,...Disney has made a lot of people smile.I"m glad you struck water! (finally) LOL :) And to think,...no Internet,..No Woo!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!
This has got to be the deep cut of deep cuts! Adam, did you ever consider working for Disney as a Historian? The USAF employ them, perhaps Disney does too.
if you want an interesting grave to visit and you ever find yourself in texas google aurora tx spaceman grave it is down the road from where i live it is pretty interesting , love the vids , glad to hear you are getting back on the road .
Oh, come on; you've spent enough time in Orlando-Kissimmee to know how to pronounce "POIN-ci-ana"! Just south of Kissimmee, and there's a Lynx express bus there. There are also multiple streets and shopping centers by that name. It's got to show up in the weather, the way I remember Geneva and Oviedo from the TV weather in the 1950's. Oh, okay: grain of salt. But this about Walt Disney and that graveyard--is it true? Wow; how fascinating. I remember when my dad told me that WD was going to build a Disneyland in Florida! In all that time, I've never heard this. The Call family was a big, Florida history family, too. "Mary Call" was held out to us as a brave, pioneer girl. Yet, not a word about Walt Disney!
I couldn't remember what they used to tell us about "Mary Call". So I looked it up: Mary Call Collins was the wife of Florida Governor LeRoy Collins! No wonder they used to hold her up as an example when we were in school in Florida. She was 1st Lady of Florida from 1955 to 1961. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Call_Darby_Collins I also had the vague idea I had heard the name Mary Call repeated more recently. Well, that was also the name of the young protagonist/narrator of _Where the Lilies Bloom_ , a kid's book I've read since I was grown, and I've also seen the movie a couple of times. I'm pretty sure I wondered why the name mysteriously seemed so familiar at that time. Who knows wherher Florida's Mary Call had anything to do with that character's name? Actually reading the Wikipedia article, it turns out that Mary Call Darby was born in NYC, the daughter of another Mary Call, and the son of Theodore Brevard, for whom Brevard County and Brevard, NC were named. So, the plot thickens, I guess. That may very well have something to do with a historical Mary Call being held out to us as a role model.
really cool info! Shame their graves arent taken care of! I guess family forgot , hey if wasnt for them as you said would be no disney world! If it was not for our past there wouldnt be a future!
Thanks for the info it is nice knowing about a person legacy Heading down to Florida in a month will be checking out a few of the places you blog about Thanks What about Walts grandparents on his fathers side?
Love your vids, big fan, love Disney, but on a downer note, Hitler also loved Disney, and Disney wasn't so fond of the Jews, so yeah. Thankful to him as far as the theme park, cartoons, movies and all that, but I can do without really knowing him. Clicked on this cause curiosity got the best of me.
You ramble more then my lost aunt Agnas but you're videos are informative and i enjoy them.I also enjoy long walks in the rain here in California and smelling my own farts so don't feel too special because i left a favorable comment.

By the way, my comment above seems surprisingly rude, now that I see it again. I'm sorry.

you know why they put fences around cemeteries? cuz people are dying to get in. lol ok that was bad. Very cool find tho

Gee, you would think that as wealthy the Disney family is, they'd take a little better care of their family's gravesites(?) Great video, though!
Ellias Disney (an immigrant) Walt's father was born at Bluevale, in what is now Ontario, Canada.
