Absolutely 💯 even in sparring or other fights outside of the ring... Many of the man who are with him that still lives could testify how superb his physical strengthen condition was with that insane work ethics for that body... The chin and body and the longevity is all legendary.
Another comparable chin would be Golovkin. Hagler was one tough son of a gun though. Another really tough middleweight was hopkins.. He was rarely hurt. Not as tough as the former two though.

I can't explain to folks the sense of pride growing up in Brockton, Mass as Marvin captured & retained the Middleweight crown for 8 years. Nobody in our city thought Marvin could be beaten by anybody. His toughness and professionalism were legendary. To have two of the greatest fighters of all time Marvin Hagler & Rocky Marciano come from the same city is remarkable, to have both guys signified by their grit, fortitude and perseverance is gratifying.
As has been said; Marvin was a true professional. The Petronelli bros did a great job with him. If I'm not mistaken, they were his only trainers. The whole team was excellent. RIP Marvin, and bravo on a truly remarkable career.

Agree completely. Mugabi fought magnificently that night and would have won if he had been in the ring with anyone else. In another era, Mugabi would have been a long term, maybe even a great, champion, but he had the rotten luck of being around at the same time as the greatest middleweight champion of all time, Marvelous Marvin Hagler.
I remember seeing a picture of Hagler wearing a tee shirt with 'Duran Will Fall' written on the back. Of course Duran never did but Mugabi hit the canvas in the later rounds.

Correct I'm sure Robinson ,Monzon and Hopkins Would not agree... Marvin was a natural middle weight. 160 pounds all year round. And probably one of the greatest 2 handed fighters ever. He definitely was a rhythm boxer. I wouldnt say he was like dancing, typically yer not setting up strikes when yer dancing, unless its Capoeira. Boxing is all about rhythm, Robinson was a tap dancer after boxing, Ali, Leonard & Roy Jones were all rhythm guys too. Larry Holmes as well. Thing about Hagler was his versatility & unpredictability, nobody could upset his rhythm. There was no formula for "getting to him" Duran got to Leonard. Frazier got to Ali. There was no getting to Hagler, he had too many strings to his bow.

Shadow boxing, especially to music would give him that dancer look (that I thought you seen) that I see when he fights & its when hes flinching n feinting n bobbing before he attacks you can see his rhythm, hes reading your reactions/body language but with Hagler each flinch, feint or bob he made gave him 4 or 5 attacking options on you, where as a good/great boxer, as opposed to an all time great one like Hagler was, may give himself 3 options. Hagler was just so versatile & very difficult to successfully attack tactically/consistently & he was equally offensively good. Ambidextrous in both attack & defence & he fought with a beautiful balance between the 2. 100% dedication to his craft, hours upon hours shadow boxing then sparring, applying & then fine tuning the concepts he had been thinking about during every quiet moment he had. Hagler was no accident or no fluke, he was kinesthetic intelligence & tactics, more master craftsman than artist. A Demolition expert. #Marvelous
