Thanks for your heartfelt honesty and authenticity. D and I have been here (Costa Rica/Central Valley) for almost 4.5 years and have had very similar experiences (The post office, services, etc.). But just like you, our worst day here is what a good day would be in the USA, but at 1/2 the price.

Mu good friend is from CR she moved back there now after retirement and she told me that you need to be nice but always find different options or find someone that you trust to be your handyman or you house manager that do all that for you

Thank you! We are moving in October with a 2 year old... and literally the only thing I am worried about are the spiders, scorpions, and snakes haha for HER especially. What do you do when you or one of your kiddos come across them? How often does it happen. Just worried about the poisonous ones...

We have not had any incidents in 2.5 years, with 3 little adventurous boys. We teach them what scorpions and spiders look like, and to not touch them.

How do y’all feel about crime in your area? Do y’all feel safe?

We feel super safe in our area, yes! Petty theft is common everywhere on the beaches, but otherwise we don't see much crime.
