I'm so happy I stumbled upon your channel!!! I have been obsessed about moving to costa rica for a while now. I'm just waiting until my youngest child(14) is done with high school. That being said, I have a 5 yr plan. My problem... I just don't know where to start. Any advice is greatly appreciated and look forward to more videos.
Welcome to our channel! This is exactly why we starting making videos and sharing, because when we wanted to make the move there was so little information from real people sharing their experiences. 😀
Great info! I have a house in Montezuma and I would suggest anyone that has a house to get a bank account, even though it is a pain in the butt! When you pay cash, do you need to pay in colones? I know the municipality taxes, you have to pay in colones and not USD.
Agreed, it's a pain to open a bank account but worth it in the long run!! We pay ours in colones, although the Asada DOES accept USD here where we live. The exchange rate is not favorable for USD right now so paying in colones is better.
I'm subscribed and I've liked every one of your videos I've watched and I've watched most of your videos at least once, some several times. A lot of very valuable practical information. Here's perhaps an odd question. In at least a couple of your videos there is a dog. Given the age of the video(s) and the apparent age of the dog, I'm guessing you brought the dog with you from Texas. If that is the case, how did you get him/her transported. We're coming, hopefully by the end of summer and we're bringing our cat. I haven't yet been able to get a straight answer from anyone. Hope you keep up the good work and thanks in advance!
I'm so glad you found our videos helpful! Thanks for watching :) Yes, we brought our little dog from Texas with us. He is 15 pounds more or less, and he flew in the cabin with us under the seat. That was a little over 2 years ago with American Airlines.
I just flew from Costa Rica (Santa Cruz) Saturday. I AM relocating there. Thank you for this because it is helpful!
Very helpful as always. Another question I have is - how to open a bank account?
We have not done this yet - but it's on our list to do!
I live in Costa Rica and pay all my utilities online so depends on where you live

Love the channel, keep watching for great advice. Would you happen to know if we can pay for water online ??
I have heard from people that there "is" a way to pay it online, but I have never been able to do it online 😵💫
