    Can you make a video of doing the same upgrade for the high beam headlights and a video for the LED fog lights and a video for a switchback LED turn indicator? I would love to see videos of this, bc I loved this video and I would love to do the same upgrade on my family’s ‘86 GT convertible

      Hopefully JDM decides to complete the full exterior conversion so I can cover using resistors on the turns etc...For switch back LEDs I "personally" only personally, dont think I'd like switchbacks in this cars front turns. I think it wold take a lot away from its classic look.

    Since, the outside H4 style LED bulb has both low and hi beam, and the outside LED hi beam is much brighter than the inside hi beam, can you just leave the inside hi beam disconnected?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA

      You could yeah, but I like even the extra inside bulb/gives you options like amber LED fogs in the high beams or something ;)

    Hello Mike, I just installed this combo into by 86 Mustang. I notice in your video that it looked like the boots were not installed on the light due to the heat sink of the led lights. The heat sink section of the lights can twist out of the keyed section. Just turn counter clock wise until it stops turning and just wiggle out. Slip on the boot and re-install the led with heat sink. My guess is JDM uses the same led heat sink assembly and just installs them into different mounts, very clever design.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 лет назад

      Good to know! Yeah I tore the boots I had, and ended up ordereing different ones. Didnt know the heat sink could be removed. Would have helped out a lot! Thanks for sharing.

    I have a pair of Hella H4 on my Capri since the mid 80's and I love them. They have a straight horizontal line like the new High intensity beams have and flare upwards towards the curb side to help light up oncoming road signs. Especially from far. They are awesome in the fog because they keep the light aimed from the hood line downwards toward the road where you want them. The brightness of the H4 bulb is a lot whiter than the halogen which look more like a light honey colour. I was going to try a pair of those led's like you used in your install . I'd like to keep it around the 5k to 6k intensity. I hate anything above 6k as it is more violet and less bright in my opinion and anything under 5k is just like an incandescent honey colour. I love driving at night and when you have good lighting it makes it even better especially driving well over the speed limits lol. I did run into that same problem with the wiring being backwards with the H4 setup. It was an easy fix. I also have the Hella 550 driving lights with the H3 bulb mounted on top of my bumper behind the grill and it is an excellent matched pair. I have never had any issues with any Hella product and they make a great product in their automotive lighting division. Good luck with the rest of your projects.

    The proper terminology for the lower lights is "driving lights". True fog lights are yellow to cut through glare off of suspended water droplets. I know this is nitpicking but as one who used to work for Bayerische Motoren Werke I got an earful from a VP for engineering for incorrectly defining the lights.

      Glad you asked...zero issues. No moisture, no cracks. They still look 100% new.

      Nope, not yet. Not 100% happy with the glass housings im using now for the driving lights.

    But I would want everything switched from halogen to LED

    • @HOUSEOFDULA

      Yeah I would too, the color difference is odd when high's are on, but they rarely ever are on. I still want to swap the high's out as well. The marchall lights have an H2 halogen, far as Ive seen, they do not make an LED replacement. You would have to opt for a different housing. Likely when I go turbo the intercooler will be in the way of the fog lights anyway.

      Yeah, I really want LED high and lows and I considered the whole sealed beam led housing but it looks kinda strange on a Foxbody, but this upgrade would be great. And yeah I really like my fog light housings with the Fox emblem on the outside, but would much rather it all to be LED. Maybe you could modify the fog housings (like cut a hole in the back for a light but it being glass I doubt that would work) maybe you could find a set of housings that have removable bulbs and swap LEDs in and get the Fox emblem glued onto the front like the OEM housings. Also I know how to splice a load resistor in , but it is very helpful to see a video of how to do it on the exact same car as the one we have, bc I really want switchback turns instead of having orange light constantly on

    Do you have the link for the rubber boot since the one that came with it didn't work. I want to do this conversion but want to get the boots when I get the LEDs. Looks sharp. The best part is more light when driving at night
