WOW!! No wonder she and Betsy Bloomingdale were best friends - they both had exquisite taste!! That house absolutely charming and stunningly beautiful!
@@direfranchement I disagree. Of course it’s not the latest tren in interior design. You’d never find Elon Musk or Kris Jenner in a place like this. This style is timeless.
Omegapointel, just because you disagree with the late President Reagan's views , doesn't mean you trash his window and his home , That man was actually a very good president, one of the bests, So maybe you should do some research on him before commenting to posts about Ronald.
It was sold as one lot with the Chartwell Mansion ( the Beverley Hillbillies house ) and now forms part of that estate so presumably they had no use for another house on the plot. It adds 1.29 acres to the 10 acre garden of Chartwell.
If you didn't live in the 70s, you wouldn't know that not all homes had goldenrod, olive green, shag carpet, or bad wood paneling. Just like the 80s didn't have day glow all over.
I really liked Mrs Reagan too. But the decorating ? Each to their own but all I see is clutter. When you have too much stuff, nothing is special. And their house was big enough to store things. Keep certain pieces out year round, store 2/3 of it, and every 3 months switch out.
The Reagans' ranch in Santa Barbara County was also very cluttered. The living space was noticeably darker than in their Bel Air home, and it looked claustrophobic. Your suggestion about rotating decorative items when you have a lot of them is a good one.
They were a former First Couple. There were boxes and boxes of stored items. This was a small collection of they re lives together. Not cluttered at all. Its a lifelong story. Beautiful.
Dislike the shelves on each side of the fire place at 2:35 and the look of the house outside. Everything is too boring for MY liking. I suppose my house is 155 years old and I'm used to different fixtures and fittings and different exteriors. I'm not against simplicity at all, but this one doesn't appeal to ME! Thank you. 🥀
Nancy Reagan was a Beeauch. She admitted she wasn’t a good mother. She went out of her way to be kind and nurtured a relationship with Ronny’s son and daughter from his first marriage to Jane Wyman. Once Ron and Nancy were married she no longer wanted them in her life. A very conniving woman.
It does look dated to our younger eyes circa 2020. But to an older woman setting up this home in 1989, it would have been quite lovely. The house bones and much of the furniture have held up nicely, although that pill box collection was kind of creepy.
Do you think this is the home in which they spent time realizing how their evil actions during the aids epidemic cost the lives of millions around the world? Asking for a dead friend. (And for their “friend” Rock Hudson whom they refused to lift a finger for when he was dying and asked a favor.)
I don't think so. It was bought for them (by their friends) after they left the White House. So very strange... they had SO many gay friends. Horrible, really horrible.
nunya inct never said they weren’t nice l just said we can’t take it with us. Sometimes too much value put on things and not how we live our lives! Not being specific but in general. What is a Karen? Not familiar with the term?

@De St They moved into this home, purchased by Frank Sinatra, and other close friends- for them to live in for the remainder of their post-Washington years- after they left the White House in the late 80's; so it IS very much the 80's decor, combined with Nancy's own personal style. A bit much for many people; yet too simple for others.
In a few years, and not too many, people are going to look at todays interior decor and say the same thing. Cheap and tacky! Gray and Dull! Ostentatious and poor quality. This is what people in the future will say about todays home decor.
I have to separate what I feel when I see beautiful pieces of art, a house, decoration ...from the owners which many time have built their fortune at the expense of human suffering ( castles, jewelry, conservative governors...).

Well, they were decorated by the same studio =) taste is something that you learn whether early or later in life.
SHE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL DESIGN.
@@direfranchement Wrong, it looks classic and elegant. Concepts you clearly don't understand.
it should be part of the museum
Nancy loved him so much. Ron was everything to her.
and her horseface was so ugly.

I loved her as well.
Surprisingly modest home
Simplicity is the mark of true class, style, and taste.
Who would have ever thought they ACTUALLY sat on their sofa ??? 😉
Lovely home, without pretense, that exemplified the owner's style.
Sad it's being sold
Imagine having to dust all those little trinkets! Keep them in a glass case somewhere! It'd drive me nuts!
The home had a blend of simplicity, elegance and warmth with a sense of humor.
Beautiful!
Looks like a 70s TIME CAPSULE
Beautiful house 🏡
Amazing to see thankyou
The Reagans where such a classy couple.
Lovely home 😊
I would love to live in that house with everything in it just the way it is. It’s already in a great zip code as well.
Hermosa!!!!
Classy, yet comfortable. That was the Reagan's style.
like a funeral home you putz. appropriate since he killed so many innocent little people.

They were happily married.
Why was the house torn down? It is still a vacant lot, last time I looked. What was the idea?

아주 아릉답고멋찝니다~~
Not only were they a loving couple but they showed us.
Shame it wasn’t made into a museum
Not in tony Bel Air. No way would neighbors allow a bus load of tourists in their neighborhood, walking around and taking picture.
Mrs. N.Reagan was all that!!
Kind of underwhelming, which is fine
honestly it looks very dated grandma house just valuable for historical reasons.
This style hasn’t aged well. It is so very 80s taste which many currently find too fussy.
It will return and have its day again
i love Mrs.Reagan so Much i really miss her

The living room looks like their private quarter's in the Whitehouse.
I agree the decor really bad .
The house it self
Very nice .
It's Lost Angeles.
What did you expect??
Aunt Bee moves to Bel Air.
Ron Heinzmann Lololol

why would they sale this they need to save for history
Way too much clutter.
This house was bought for them by their rich buddies. Low end of Bel Air. Originally 666 Saint Cloud Rd.
If their buddies bought the house for them, what's it to us? As long as taxpayers didn't or China or Ukrain!
It was leased to them, with an option to buy.

Ronald Reagan exemplifies 1980s elegance for me because the 80s was just full of bad taste when it comes to interiors.
