It may appear in the video that they are dropping back (or we might be turning slightly) but there is not a great deal of difference between what we run and anything else I have tried. We were good friends with Joe Prince (now deceased) of Prince Mastercraft. He was the originator of the Super Ski. Its a dual board system molded out of Urethane. We have enjoyed great success with these over the years and continue to run them. They are getting harder to find. E-Bay, Garage Sales, Tackle Blow-Outs are probably the best place to find them. They track very well.
Fertilizer? They are fantastic table fare. I don't have a spring customer that doesn't like eating cold water browns. We have some filleting segments on this Channel to help prepare them correctly.
I troll the South shore as well.. how do you get your planner boards to drift behind the boat so far? Ares stay inline with were the lines are anchored.
your planner boards seem to stay well behind your boat, is there something on your planner boards that give extra drag to get them back that far? When we are using ours, they will go out, but never drop back like that.
Greetings Bill - I am going to try running a mast and two homemade two board planer boards on Gitch for big laker. I want to run leadlines and use the shower curtain method and offshore releases (if it'll work). I have run yellowbirds before, but never tried to planerboard leadline. I really like your informational videos and would just like your advice if you can spare a minute about how you would hold and release the lead. I plan to use an improved leadline that will run 40' down. Do you think the offshores would work or should I rig with a rubber band? I have some big Scotties I could try as well. Your advice on releasing lead? Gonna pull like mad! And also, thanks for really great fishing video. If I don't hear back, tight lines!
Thank you Jason.... Glad to be of service!
thanks for the reply, we use similar boards. tight lines! I enjoy your videos. Very helpful tips!
Excellent video. Attention to the smallest of detail , is the often difference, between bringing them to the dinner table, or watching the swim away.
These are stocked fish that are utilized on a put and take basis. We release most of the smaller fish!

I don't understand your question Jason? The main boards are towed on 200 lb test dacron. They are towed from a 5ft. Boom on each side of the boat.
